Sister Challenge - moved to New Years Resolution in July

I missed the memo that yesterday was donut day. DARN! :rotfl: I've actually been craving donuts, and I think I'm gonna have to get one to clear it out of my system before I buy and eat a whole box! :rolleyes1

You're doing great with your exercise, Marie. Keep up the good work!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Let us know if you hear anything about the meeting with the VP today. I'd love to know what happens to the instigator!

Have a GREAT day!

Congrats on the size 10 dress!!! I'm still struggling with my 12s - you'd better be taller than 5'4" or I'm gonna be really mad!

5'5".....am i safe?

Good luck w/ your ds! It seems like kids have more and more homework these days and the work is harder and harder. I agree w/ you also about if the other kid started the fight then he had every right to defend himself!

Hope today was better on the eating front! Don't let stress get you off of your game!

Take care and have a Good night! :sunny:

ok....first of all, i bought some Kellogs Special K bars.....all i can say is
YUCK!! The strawberry one's are really strong and the chocolatey drizzle just have a weird after-taste.
ok...that's my food review for today.

yesterday-
b-sara lee toast
s-none
l-3 bites from a very nasty chicken patty melt from Steak & Shake & sm sweet tea
s-none
d-1 taquito roll thingy, 1 cube of cheese, 1 brownie, sm. coke (8 oz cup)
(neighbor had a Cookie Lee Jewelry party)
water intake-64 oz
exercise-i don't remember...so i'm guessing none....
resisted-another brownie, chocolate milkshake,

Ok...so I went to school this morning because nobody ever called me back. I waited until the VP was done w/ her morning duties, then we had a little meeting. I felt pretty good about it. She couldn't tell me *what* the punishment for the other kid was, but the mother was there yesterday morning, and they did do something. I also talked to her about his grades and the math problems. She is having an assistant work with him for the next few weeks to help him out. She also gave me the names of some books (Bridging The Gap - 4th-5th Grade, or something like that) to work w/ him on over the summer. I'm going to go to Knowledge Tree (hopefully today) and see if they have it. I'll probably also get one for darling daughter too. (1st to 2nd)
I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday!! :sunny:
marie

So, what did you buy me at the Cookie Lee party? :confused3 I love those parties!

I'm glad you were able to meet with the VP and get "some" answers. Good idea to get a book for your DD to work on too. Not only is it good for her, but then it doesn't just single out your DS when he's working on it.

Job well done, mommy! :thumbsup2

If it were me, I'd have brought some shooters to school & fed them to the VP until she spilled the details...but I guess that's just me :rolleyes1 .

Way to go resisting all the food at the Cookie Lee Party! :woohoo: I did not have the same experience at Bunco last night.

Crossing Special K bars off the list of things to try ...

Sounds like your meeting with the VP was productive. I have heard that those bridging the gap books are good. 4th grade is a tough year. 5th grade will be better.

Hi Marie~

Stopping by to WISH you a wonderful weekend! :sunny: I'm glad to hear that your visit with the VP went well. :goodvibes Take care! :grouphug:

What a weekend so far!! It has been a roller coaster!
Friday night - American Liver Foundation Photo Shoot - $10,000 & $20,000 donors getting their portraits taken while all gussied up in tux's & sequines for the evening. Got to shake hands w/ the Shelby County Mayor....pretty cool!

Saturday-School Carnival...started of pretty fun..kids games, face painting, moon bounce...people everywhere! They also had a silent auction for the PTA...I saw that DD's kindergarten teacher had a "Day With(the teacher)" for auction. Yes, my dd is in 1st grade, but absolutely LOVES her kindergarten teacher. I put a high bid in (after all, it's for a "good" cause, right??) I talked to the teacher, whom i've done their family photos and hugs me everytime she sees me and told her what we did, and she was all excited to spend the day w/ dd. Well, later on, i go to see what the bid is and there are 3 other women standing there talking about it...."Why would you bid that high and not even be in her class?" "That's just stupid" "Some people are just ignorant!"
I'm standing there hearing every word they are saying about me! :furious:
I leave and go tell my dh...and i told him it would be a cold day in H before i gave that org another dime! (2 of them were teachers and one was both of their's room mothers) I went back in the room and the room mother was standing there along w/ a neighbor of mine. I asked the woman to hand me a pen and she smiled and said sure. I leaned over and crossed off my bid and turned to the woman and said "Just so you know, I"m Marie___ and I'm the one that put the high bid on here! I thought it was for a good cause, and I thought it would be a fun day for my daughter." She then starts to say something and I put my hand up to stop her. I said "Mrs. ____is my daughters favorite teacher and she adores her and I didn't mind spending it for a good cause, but after listening to EVERY WORD you and the other 2 women said, I guess I was wrong, It's not for a good cause! And I just wanted to apologize for being STUPID enough to think it was! I don't know what I did to offend you all so much, but just know that I removed my bid so you and the other *ladies* can bid however much you want to, and oh, you can tell them as well that they can kiss my @($$)!" My neighbor looked at me and started to say something and I just looked at her and said "i'll talk to you later!" and i walked away! I did not yell or even raise my voice either!
Yes, i know I should have just left the bid and not worried about it, but listening to them talk about me was horrible. They don't know me! They don't know my dd or the relationship w/ Mrs. ____! I'm not kidding, I was shaking I was so mad! I went back outside to where dh was and told him what i did. He was proud of me for standing up to them. (of course, when i get mad, i cry, but no one saw me.) Later in the day Mrs. _____ called me and I told her what happend. She apologized, which i told her it wasn't her fault her co-workers were b (itches). She said she heard about a parent telling off a room mother about a bid and saw my name crossed off (apparently the room mother told the other 2 teachers... :confused3 ) and she wanted to make sure I was ok. I told her that it just hurt..that these people don't know even know me!
All I wanted to do was come home, have a nice cold beer and sit down! Well, I get home and my phone rings (it's 2:45). Photog boss has a shoot, needs more help than he thought, can I make it and do I have a Floral/Hawaiin shirt. Um....yes, I can make it (5:00pm) and no, I don't have a floral shirt. I make a made dash to Kohl's ( i love that place) buy a floral/hawaiin (really kinda ugly) shirt, get home, get ready and to. This one is for Juvenile Diabetes. Same thing as Friday night, but different theme. We all (workers) wore Cruise apperal and the guests were gussied up again. Mayor was there....just waved this time! :wave2: Got home about 11:00 last night.....6 hours on my feet....my back is KILLING me today!!
Sorry this is so long....i just needed to vent, and you guys alway let me. I slept in (8:30am) today....tomorrow will be another long day....ds ultrasound and mri....one at 7:30 am, the other at 4pm.
i'm gonna go sit and relax now....maybe go raid CACruisn's cookie dough!

later
marie

Marie you rock! I wish I had been there to see it! Now today...relax..kick back ...have a couple of brews and have a sunday! :thumbsup2
:hippie:

WOW! What a day you had! So sorry those women were so nasty. :grouphug: Good for you for telling those people WHY you were taking your name off the list. Some people really just don't get it. It is supposed to be about the kids and funding things for the school. Our school does a big fundraiser every spring - dinner/dance thing. For the last several year's. I am happy to give a donation, but not excited about spending several hundred $$'s on dress, babysitter, etc. on top of silent auction, live auction, raffle tickets, etc, etc, etc ... But you definitely get guilted into going and "participating". For the past several years I have simply made a point of "being out of town" on that weekend to avoid the whole scene.

You can vent anytime and you are more than welcome to my cookie dough too! :rotfl2:

Hopefully today will be calm and quiet for you and here's PD :wizard: for getting through tomorrow's stressful day. :grouphug:

Hey Marie...

First off, :grouphug: hugs to you for tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you and your DS. Please keep us updated!

Secondly.....YOU GO GIRL! :woohoo: You handled those B's perfectly!! You are the WOMAN!! You always seem to know the right thing to say!

Take care, dear. We're here for ya!

Hi Marie! I hope you were able to have a nice relaxing day today! Those ladies sound perfectly Aweful! Way to let 'em have it! :cool1: Note to self... stay on Marie's good side :thumbsup2

Hope everything goes well tomorrow! Let us know. I'll be thinking about you! :sunny:

I'm glad you got your 2 cents in with those women! That is one reason I don't get more involved with school. It's like all the "school moms" are in some clique and anyone else is not worthy. Forget those people! :snooty:

Good luck at the Dr today, I'm sure everything will be fine. If not, maybe DS can punch the Dr in the nose... :teeth:

I'm thinking aboutcha today...

Marie~

You go girl! :thumbsup2 I am so sorry those women were so mean. All you wanted to do was let your DD have a day with her favorite teacher and donate money to a good cause. I am so sorry that you had to go through that, but I am proud of you for sticking up for you! :goodvibes

I hope that everything goes well at the doctor's today.... In regards to your question about my birthmark on my leg... My doctor never said whether the growth thing was a vascular issue or not. My doctor never really did any testing. I just had to go back 1-2 times a year and have the leg checked to see if it had caught up with the other leg. Eventually, it did, but like I said, my foot is a half size smaller and thinner than my left foot. I did have some issues with my right leg during my pregnancy with DD5, but the doctors were finally able (after lots of testing!) to rule out vascular problems on the day my water broke... The leg problem had something to do with the gestational diabetes I had.

Have a great day, Marie! :grouphug: Sending prayers and :wizard: for your DS's doctor's appointment....

Now I know why I work full time!!! I'm exhausted!!
Up at 5:30 - out the door at 6:40 - downtown to hospital for ultrasound by 7:30 - done at 9:00 - went for breakfast w/ ds - then to shoe store for ds - didn't have what he needed - then to camera store for me - didn't have what I needed - then to printer to pick up enlargements - then home - 11:45. Needed to run more errands and dh wanted to come along...soooooo off to Sams Club - then Wal-mart - then Knowledge Tree - then Target - then a second Target - then to the New Balance Shoe Store (got ds his shoes) - then Burger King (yuck) - then back to Target (to return earlier purchase) - then home 3:00. Had to leave again at 3:30 for the MRI - got done at 5:25.
I'm going to bed early tonight!! Anyway, they really didn't tell me anything about the tests yet. The Ultrasound girl said everything looked good w/ his kidneys, but couldn't really say anything else. The MRI lady said "have a nice evening!" Yeah, thanks babe! I'll call the Dr. on Wednesday to schedule a followup on all this...don't know what's next...if anything. :confused3

Ok....so it's weigh & pay Monday!!!
