We have a Sirius that came installed in our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. It came with 12 months of free service, and all I can say about that is
you get what you pay for.
The radio would be extremely staticy at times. The best way I can describe it is we would get in the car and turn the key on and the Sirius would either be crystal clear or so staticy it was not enjoyable to listen to. It didnt matter if the car was out in the open where the antenna had a clear signal. The radio didn't work probably half the time.
I called the Dodge dealership and they said call Sirius. I called Sirius and they would give me bone headed advice like the radio wouldn't get a signal if it was inside a garage. Well, duh! I'm not an idiot.

After the useless advice, they would tell me to call Dodge and the cycle would start again.
Dh finally installed an XM in the van for me because we've had XM since day 1. We forgot that we even had Sirius in there. About a year after the 12 month membership ended, I accidentally flipped it on there one day and it had service.

The reception was crystal clear. Dh likes to listen to the NFL stuff on there, and we've had this unexplained service for about a year now.
Whatever static problems we were having in the beginning are not there anymore.

Weird. I know.
Now after saying all that, I bought dh a Sirius receiver and boombox so he could listen to the NFL programming while at home. He's never had any problems with that one.
