Sinister Soiree Questions

Do you mean Halloween night? Did you get them today? If you did I am happy for you but confused I tried to get tickets for 3 for that night because I already had MNSSHP tickets and was told that the Sinister Soiree was sold out for Halloween I ended up having to get tickets for October 21 instead.

I am now reading on Facebook that they have added a second seating to almost every night. So this means double the number of people for reserved parade and fireworks?

Which seating would you think is best to maximize everything? They didnt ask what seating I wanted just told me to be there at 10:05.

I think it depends on what you want to do. If meets and greets are important to you I would think the later seating would be better considering that most characters stop meeting by 10:30 or 11:00. If you are wanting to go on rides than the 1st seating may be best.

Hope to see you then!! I will be in a modified Snow White costume (blue top, yellow shorts red head band) so as to NOT mortifiy my 13yo daughter. She will be in a vintage Minnie Costume. She gets to have all the FUN!

I think the numbers for the parade and fireworks viewing are going to be 200-260 if there are two soiree's. It is always super crowded main street to castle. My usual spot is near casey's, which I have to stake out at least an hour ahead. Really hoping the designated area won't be as bad with some elbow room. But either way I am glad not to have to get a spot so early! I don't care about front row, as long as I don't have to put up with people crowding in. Which shouldn't be the case with a roped off area.

I am sticking with 10:15 because I like the idea of having another hour of the party after the soiree. Which actually that last hour is the least crowded. Whereas right after the fireworks it still is very crowded. I think some with really young ones leave by 11. For the longest time I thought the park closed after the fireworks because growing up my family always left shortly after the fireworks. Actually my parents still leave after the fireworks

Conclusions I have come to in the past 48 hours:

I can't find an aspirin bottle Halloween costume. I would not want to be a CM answering the phones. I can't wait until we get the real answers after the first party goers attend and hopefully they will post many pictures. That's it I am a simple woman with simple desires.

That's my guess. And so let me tell you - if by purchasing this party, you think "oh, I won't have to stake out a parade/fireworks spot - this package is worth the money for the amount of time spent waiting that I can AVOID" - then you are WRONG.

We had that same experience with the Frozen package. We wound up still having to show up to parade/fireworks early so that we would not be "back of the pack" for viewing - and even at that, did not get a decent place AT ALL for the parade part.

So this is just to warn people who are purchasing the Soiree in part for the reserved viewing areas - they are not guaranteeing you a decent view/seat/etc. You will likely still need to be in place early to get a good spot. So if that's the main motivator for spending $100/ea on this add-on, I would think again.

To the extent that this is the sole/main reason someone booked the soirée, I think waiting for reviews from the first few parties rather than basing anything on assumptions now probably makes the most sense.

Our tickets are for Halloween. I had called in before and was told it was sold out too. I called back a few hours later and asked about all times. The cm was able to find two tickets. So I don't know if it was luck or my polite persistence! awesome that you were able to get tickets for another night. We had already got our MNSSHP tickets for the 31st so we didn't have a choice on dates.

I agree that for front row, yes you still need to show up early. But DHS is really tight for the parades so you really can't compare it to magic kingdom. I have only once had a good view at dhs parade and I had to stake a spot out for two hours. All the other times I barely got to see the parade through the crowds. That isn't the case with magic kingdom. The street is bigger and the parade route is longer. Even standing behind people I've still been able to see more than i ever have been able to at dhs. Heck i even got a better view of a parade from inside a store at magic kingdom while i was waiting in line to check out than standing on the street at dhs. I still think for me it still holds true that i don't have to get there early because this time i am not going for front row, i just want to enjoy the parade with some room to breath. And hoping that the roped off area will provide that.

But yes of course the main event is the desert party. The reserved viewing area is just bonus in my opinion.

I just looked through that write-up on parade FP+. That really is a lot of prime real estate that is no longer available to the general public. Very disappointing.

I would sure hope that if you stake out your spot for the parade at 8:00 am, you would get a front-row seat! That's dedication!

I don't think the viewing area will be in the same place as the FP+ area. This is from the disney mom's panel:

"The preferred viewing location for Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade and the HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular is in the same place, which is right in front of Cinderella Castle right behind the Partners Statue (Walt Disney and Mickey holding hands)."

That would be the area between the Partners statue and the castle, which is what I believe the regular FP area is.

This is my thought, too. Now that I've had a couple days from booking and the initial euphoria of booking is *starting* to wane, I'm realizing that the investment is pretty much the opportunity to meet the villains and see what's going on in the castle. Nothing to sneeze at, but I consider prime parade viewing to be front row, be that in front of the castle next to Mickey and Walt or over in Frontierland next to the turkey leg cart. Knowing me, I'm still going to be lingering amongst the masses well before the 7:30pm arrival time to the special viewing area, so I don't see any time saving happening. The parade is my number one motivation for booking MNNSHP, hands down.

September 1st and initial reports can't come soon enough for me! I already had a killer itinerary planned out for the party before they dangled this tasty, sinister offering before us. Now I think DD will disown me if I decide to revert back to plan A, but we shall see...

I'm not personally worried about it being too close. Not sure if you've seen HalloWishes before, but it's a different show -- more of it is 360-degrees vs Wishes. And up close you get a good view of the projections on the castle during the fireworks -- we love those.

My personal feeling is that it's way too close to see the full effect of the fireworks. MNSSHP includes perimeter bursts. It's hard to full appreciate that when you are so close. But given the timing of events that night, I doubt they had time to move people. Everyone in this group has viewing for fireworks so every person would have to move. That is not the case with regular FP+.

One thing to keep in mind is that every person in this area will have seen the early parade. Some might stick around and watch the parade again, but probably not. That means the area will likely clear out pretty quickly after the fireworks. Although some might stay for whenever the next castle show is. But if you're wanting to see the second parade, hovering in the area will likely be fruitful.

9:30 is when Hallowishes is happening. The DIS is showing 7:45, 8:55, and 10pm for the show. So from the preferred area, right between the parade and projection show, we'll all be there for the 8:55.

8:55 it is then! That will work too. I am just starting to put together my touring plan, can't wait for next week when I can fill in more details!
