Sinister Soiree Questions

Oh, and what movies should I watch to prepare for this? I don't know who these villains are. I love Disney World but I haven't actually watched hardly any Disney movies. I have to confess I was more interested in the parade/fireworks viewing area as well as just the fun of being in the castle for a VIP party.

Evil Queen -Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Maleficent- Sleeping Beauty (or the new live action version since the changed the character)
Cruella de Vil- 101 Dalmatians
Captain Hook- Peter Pan
Judge Frollo- Hunchback
the Queen of Hearts- Alice in Wonderland
Dr. Facilier- Princess and the frog

And of course you must watch cinderella since our host is the stepmother. ::yes::
 
Yay! I'm excited! I posted this in reservations before I saw this thread, just so no one waits on hold for nothing, we called this afternoon to get a reservation for 2 for September 28th, and they were sold out. The 23rd was still available at that time. :banana:
 
Another person from the dark side here! ;) We are booked for Sept 19. I am trying to figure out if this is more of a wishes buffet thing or a true "character meal." It is only supposed to last 30 minutes as far as I can tell so they have to cycle through 100-200 guests and 5 characters in a really short time. Not sure how that is gonna work. And is photo pass going to be there or is it personal cameras only like a normal time at CRT?


They told me 45 minutes when I booked. I was kind of assuming that meant that they would have the 7:45, 8:50 and 10:00 villian castle shows, bring the villians in from 10:15 to 11:00 for the Soiree and then send them back out for the 11:15 show and then back in if there was an 11:45 soiree. I'm seeing some schedules on some websites that have dropped the 11:15 show from the line-up now, so who knows.

The Disney rep on the parks blog answered yes to a question as to whether this was like a character meal where the villians visit your table and you can get pics with them. I would guess they will either run people through a dessert buffet and sit them down- or bring plates or boxes of dessert to the table. I would also guess that is is personal cameras only and a quick cycle through with no autographs to get them through everyone in time. Guess we will find out next week.

70 people would be great, but I have a hard time believing that Disney would do that when the restaurant holds more. If it is only 70 people that would explain the crazy ticket price. I would be very inclined to keep my reservation if the number of attendees is that low. It would make for a nice parade spot and event. Can't wait to hear reviews and reports!
 
One more thing,.. I was able to book the event by calling the regular dining reservation number. The hold was 2 minutes as opposed to over an hour using the phone number they said to call for the event.

When you called did you go through the special dining event information or just tell them you wanted to make a reservation?

ETA: Got tickets for October 3!
 

Congrats to those of you who got tickets! I hesitated yesterday and tried to book this morning-both 9/28 and 10/2 were sold out:scared1: I am going to keep trying and hope someone cancels because I think it sounds like a lot of fun.
 
Hooray! :cool1: A positive thread for an event that we have chosen to pay for and attend! It's not as though someone is forcing us to do this.

I booked the 9/21 event and wanted to add a couple of things:

- The CM said the viewing area is in the "central plaza" near the castle; that it's standing room only; and that it opens at 7:30.

- Also, she asked if I had purchased the Memory Maker package. When I said I had not, she suggested considering it as the pictures from the Soiree would be a part of it. That suggests to me that official Disney photographers will be there.

This is our 71st trip to WDW and while we love all of our usual activities, it's nice to have something new to look forward to. I also booked the F&W premium package. I guess I'm deeply in the dark side! :darth:
 
I just got off the phone (6pm MST) and was told 10/10 is sold out :(

Maybe they will release a second sitting for some of the parties, DH and I thought it sounded like fun. We live outside the US so I don't want to keep calling and spending 30+ minutes on hold hoping for a cancellation spot - my phone bill would be ridiculous!!

I am in Mexico, so I use prepaid calling cards, it cost like 10 dollars and it gives you a 300 hundred minutes.

Late to this game, jusy found out about this event about 15 min ago by reading a very negative thread on it. We are going to the party on sept.1. It is our celebration trip for our dvc purchase!!!!!! We decided to taken the kids for labor day weekend and hit up the party. Calling tomorrow to try and book this event.

I hope you get it! Many of the dates are already booked but don't give up since this is a one you can cancel you may still get lucky and get a spot.
 
I'm sooo happy to find a thread which is about the actual event and not complaining about it. If I hear the words 'drinking the kool aid' one more time ;) I was hoping for an informative thread like the Frozen Summer Fun thread which has been so helpful :)

I did ask this on the other thread and somebody did kindly help me but I just wanted to see if others are having the same issue - I've booked the 11:45 seating and my MDE shows 10pm. Does anybody else's do this? Or has the CM booked me the wrong time for me? Thanks :)

I think I might have answered you on the other thread! LOL!!! But here goes just in case... CM I booked with said that's how it was showing up in MDE but not to worry - and that you could call with your conf# to check and they could tell you what's booked.

I would call back just to make sure because I am booked for a 11:45 party and my MDE says I have a 11:25 seating

Mine says completely the wrong time to so welcome to the club :) see the helpful poster above though - looks like we aren't the only ones!

If you are already in the park they will have someone to check you in and get your wristbands for this in front of the castle at 7:30pm
 
Does anyone know how long you have in the castle portion of this event? I have a 9:55 seating so am wondering when the seating is prior and after my seating to get an idea how long we have.
