Single Worst Food Item in WDW

The watermelon rind salad at Boma is disgusting....possibly the worst thing I've ever eaten.

I'd like to chime in and say that these are personal opinions, often based on a one-time experience - the horrible burger you had Wednesday at Epcot might be delicious on Thursday - but you were at MK that day. You get the picture. I wouldn't cancel a PS, just because someone on the board didn't like a food served at that restaurant. Everyone's experiences are different. Go on - EAT!:D

The teriyaki "chicken" at ABC Commissary. Dark, slimy, fatty and strangely bitter.

Agree that many of us just have an unlucky experience. I see raves about Ko Ko Puffs at Kona Cafe, but DH and I must have gotten a bad batch. 20 minutes later and we were both fighting for the bathroom. At least they didn't have a chance to "stick" calorie wise!

Now, the veal at Alfredo's is another story. I love to get veal almost every time I go to any Italian restaurant. The veal at Alfredo's is definitely the worst I have had. Also, I could have killed someone with the bread, it was so hard. Maybe they use the bread to pound the veal?

You are too funny! hahahahahahah!

Those turkey legs are a bit too hairy "Viking" for me....

One dessert that, in my opinion does NOT live up to expectations is the VOLCAAAAANO at the Rainforest Cafe....especially when you find out they cost $13 A PIECE! Come ON!!!!!

I think the pizza at Pizza Planet is the worst.

I've never tried, nor plan on trying the turkey legs. They're just gross to me.

I thought the vegetarian chili at Columbia House was pretty awful.

I agree with the Pizza Planet! I live in a town that has very bad Pizza but the Pizza at Pizza Planet was the worst I've ever tasted. Even my child who will eat anything gave up on it :(

Have to agree with others that everyone has to try a restaurant for themselves and sometimes go back because they may have hit it on a bad day. We had a terrible dinner at Crystal Palace two years ago and tried it again this year because the kids wanted to dine with Pooh and the food was actually pretty good. That said, our worst meal in the last three trips was at Mama Melrose in the Disney Studios. No one liked their food which ranged from pasta to chicken to pizza. Have to say I was not impressed with the Koko puffs at the Kona Cafe either.

I'm just going to second some previous poster's comments:

Pizza at BW pizza window: Cardboard crust & tasteless tomato sauce. Yech.

Vegetarian Chili at CHH: Loaded with cumin and just crammed with black olives!!! Very odd.

KoKo Puffs: OK, maybe it was just me, but that chantilly cream they put on them has the same color and texture as mashed potatoes.

I think it was called Sugar Cane chicken at Mara at AKL. It had wooden toothpicks in it, and it was so tough, I kept thinking I'd found another toothpick even after they were all out.

Definately a tie, between the turkey legs and the veal at Alfredos. Had the veal a few months ago and it was so tough I could have made a shoe out of it!

This has been a bad thread for Alfredo's.......

some of the descriptions of these bad food items have made me laugh out loud (as I am sitting at my desk at work....)

I think I have been lucky - I have never had anything at WDW that stands out as being "heinous" (to use someone's term).

I love this thread! Don't take this the wrong way but have you noticed the Restaurant Board is the only board true snarkiness is socially acceptable? :p Try a "worst resort" thread over on the resorts board and see how long that lasts-- some posters end up in tears if they feel their favorite resort is maligned and usually infer the person who had a bad experience there has some personal defect LOL, yes I am exaggerating, but I do like that on the Restaurants Board it is a given that food is a very personal thing, and restaurant experiences can vary widely, and no one ever seems to get too upset about it.... or maybe its just that even the biggest Disney booster can't deny that there is some pretty bad food available in the World...

Back on topic... The food court at POFQ-- the jambalaya was the most foul, gelationous, mass of-- ugh. The chicken in it was inedible, as was the shrimp. I tried to eat my daughter's mac and cheese but that was just as bad!

I can't name one particular item at the Chef Mickey's buffet, it was more the crushing mediocrity of the whole food experience.

The food at the Hoop-dee-doo wasn't the worst food I've eaten, but it was up there.

Alfredo's by far!! Maybe it's the Italian way, but I do not like my pasta to crunch like a potato chip and my waiter to smell like garbage!! Thankfully we only saw him twice....once to take our order, and once to drop our check. The rest of the time he spent chatting with other waiters! If you're going to do that at least do it when you tables cant see you!!

ilovefh- I am Italian. Very. We do not serve crunchy macaroni. Nor do we smell like garbage when we serve it.

Ewwww, anything at Cantina de San Angel
! This is most certainly the worst mexican food I've ever had!!! Skip this one~ makes Taco Bell taste gourmet!!

I'm sticking with the nasty spaghetti at Tony's--I still can't understand why they can't cook pasta properly... Give me ragu express anyday, compared to Tony's it is practically gourmet!

I love the Beaver Tails!

But my three least favorite, in no particular order...

The burgers at Sci Fi. I guess they wouldn't be so bad if I paid two bucks for them at Mickey D's instead of ten bucks at Mickey Mouse. But at that price, you shouldn't have to choke it down.

The wings at ESPN. Soooooooooo bland.

Anything in WDW where the predominent ingrediant is tap water.

We had one of our best meals here last summer! That's why this thread is fun - lots of opinions!!:)

I agree with the posters who said to take opinions with a grain of salt. I'm sure that everyone has valid reasons for their responses but you just never know what or why the experience is bad. You could probably poll many different people who eat at the same restaurant in the same week and get different responses. That's why I TRY not to give a place a bad rap unless I've dined there more than once. My experiences at some places mentioned:

Alfredo's - Been there twice. Have tried the lasagna and the fettucini alfredo. Food wasn't awful but I can make much better at home or at the local Olive Garden.

Cantina in Mexico - been there twice and both times had good taco salads. I enjoy sitting by the lake and the margaritas are good.

Chef Mickey's - I know there are some DIS'ers who've had bad experiences but in our case we've eaten there for dinner 3 times and the food was fine. Last trip the prime rib was better than usual. They cut a real hunk not little slices and it was done how we like it - medium. It was tender and juicy. It was by far better than the prime rib we had at CRT at lunch. I'd read good things about it at CRT and still love eating in the castle but I promise our prime rib looked and tasted like it was left over from the night before and heated up in the microwave. I ate little and this is coming from a person who loves prime rib. Maybe we'll try dinner there instead in the future.
