single rider line at EE - when does it open/close?

In my earlier trips I noticed that the single rider line at EE is sometimes closed. It seemed that it didn't open at park opening, and closed before park closing. I believe there was another time that seemed random as well.

Can anyone shed light on this?

It seems to open fairly early, in my experience. My nephew and I hit Everest first thing, and once there is a bit of a line we switch to the single rider line.

When we were there in July, it opened about 30 minutes to an hour after park opening and closed about an hour or two from park close. I spoke with one of the CM's who was working it as I waited for my daughter to ride. I was told that when there are not many people using the single rider line and/or when the regular line has a short wait, they shut it down.

It generally only opens when needed. I almost always ride EE alone, and when single rider was closed, it was when the wait was very short

Its opened when it is needed. If wait times are 30+ mins they tend to open the SR line to keep the stand by lines low.

I love this line and used it MANY MANY times my last trip. I think I rode EE 10x in a row with a few minutes of waiting since I was on a solo trip.

Your party WILL get broken up. You are the seat filler for odd number parties, but don't expect to wait long at all.

Also, the ride entrance can be tricky to find. If you are looking straight at stand by and FP line it is down and to the right

One tip I learned when I was there- look to the right of the main line (between the main queue entrance and the waiting area where you can watch the train come down the hill) and see if the yellow umbrella is up or down. If it is open (up), the single rider line is open. If it is closed (the umbrella is down or closed), the single rider line is closed. That saved me the trouble of walking over to see if single rider was open or closed.

Ha! I think I know what you mean, but what if I'm wrong? :p

This is what happens when I am trying to type a response while my toddler is asking me for a juice box, my older daughter is asking me for jelly beans, and my husband is trying to tell me about why his car is still in the shop. Multi-tasking is a skill I have not yet mastered.
