Simple Thing a Cast Member Did...

Once upon a time, at AK...a CM gave me a mini Minnie pin...just because :lovestruc Also...during our honeymoon, while chatting up a CM on the monorail, I was given a Cinderella pin. Again- just because.

I relish those times when the unexpected happens.

Oh, one more. During a stay at the WL, mousekeeping made up our bed to look as if someone was laying on it reading the paper out of towels, my shoes, sunglasses, and Mickey ears. So. Awesome :thumbsup2

These stories are wonderful, I love the make a wish story with Snow White:sad1:
A few years ago we had breakfast in the Castle. After we had had our picture with Cinderella, and while we were waiting for them to "announce" us so we could go up and eat, we noticed everyone else was being called, and finally we were the only ones left. It was fine, we were sitting, in the AC just enjoying a quiet moment, when all of the sudden this manager rushes in and says he is SO SORRY that we have had to wait( I swear it was like 6 minutes). He gives us a fast pass for our party to go on any ride we want! Then, when we get to our table the waiter says he is so sorry we had to wait, the princesses will come to our table first, which they did!!! It was great! Fast passes and not having to wait for the princesses to come to our table! It was an extra special thing that we felt we didn't really deserve, but it was a very nice thing for the CM to do!
Also, for my sons 2nd bday, I went to the desk at Pop Century and just asked for a bday button for him to wear on the next day. The CM gets my room number, his name, who is his favorite character.... The next day after coming back from the parks with very tired and cranky 2 and 4 year olds, we open our door and see balloons and a card from Mickey for DS. He immediately starts bouncing around and says thank you Mickey!!! He couldn't believe Mickey was in our room:laughing: I know they do that alot for birthdays and different celebrations, but it was so exciting for DS!

Last summer I had just gotten an ice cream cone and I started to walk down Main Street when all of the ice cream fell off the cone. I immediately ran to get napkins in the closest place and when I got back there was a CM standing over the melted ice cream who seemed like he was looking for someone. He asked me if it was mine and when I said yes he asked me what it was and then said he'd be right back. Well within seconds he was back with a brand new ice cream. I know this seems kind of simple and obvious but I loved that he could've just cleaned it up and moved on, especially since I wasn't even there at the time, but he specifically waited and looked for me.

it wasnt exactly a ccast member... but a mousekeeper. me and my sis were staying at teh Pop Century. my sis works in housekeeping at a hotel near home. she asked the mousekeeper if she could show us how she makes those towel animals, but if she couldnt, like if it was a mickey secret its alright she understands. Our Mousekeeper came into our room and made us two more towel animals right in front of us... i think that was great. it went above and beyond..

Ok, so not quite as magical of some of these stories, but it was still special for me. First, both incidents occurred on my first solo trip EVER. That's to any park anywhere. I just up and decided to go to Epcot. I had the day off, I had a season pass, and I wanted to go! I hadn't been since I was 8, and I was 23 at the time (24 now this was earlier this year) so it had been a long time!

First, I for some reason decided that bouncing around the World Showcase with no breaks would be a good idea. So by the time I got to Morocco I was wiped out! Like seriously felt like I was going to pass out. So I stopped in at the quick service place for some water. Now, I know water is free and all but the CM that helped me stood there and chatted with me, making sure I was ok. It wasn't much but knowing that he cared just made my day. :goodvibes I had a lovely rest in Morocco, with ice cold water and a friendly face. It was nice!

Later on the same day I went to ride on Mission Space. First the CM at the front was really helpful and talked to me about which side to go on. I'm good with G's and love rides like the Gravitron, but really dislike drops. He told me I'd probably be just fine on the intense (orange) side. So I go into line and another CM asks if I was by myself, and I tell her yes. They led me up the middle of the two lines all the way to the front. Turns out they needed a single rider up there. It made me feel really special though. I really enjoyed the ride, until about halfway through... one of the other people on my "ship" got sick... on my shoes. I was feeling queasy when I got off, sympathy sickness you know  and the CM on the way out asked if I was alright. After I explained he showed me into a maintenance room where I could wash up and get the ick off of my clothes and shoes. They even had spare shirts and all in there. I suppose it happens often on Mission Space so they're well prepared. Then when I get off I am thanking the CM profusely for his help and suddenly realize I forgot my purse! He turns to another CM and tells him to check that ride vehicle, and they got it back to me in less than a minute. I went again later and the CM gave me a free fast pass! They must have liked me on Mission Space. This time I made sure to ask the rest of my "crewmates" if they'd ever ridden before, and if they were going to be sick that I wouldn't mind showing them where the bags were. They were all good! My second trip to Mars went much better than the first.

So now I'm just hoping that I'll have more to share here after my trip this weekend. Can't wait to see what sort of magic awaits my coworker and I at the World! :wizard:

Well 19 pages later I'm all teared up.
I took DD (then turning7) to Disney for her birthday. 11 days / 10 nights
1st solo trip as a single mom with her.
I had noted her birthday on our reservations and had DDP
She had 9 birthday celebrations at each restaurant we visited!
Cards, cupcakes, singing, Cast member pins!
We had ridden RnR for the 1st time and it was really her 1st upside down coaster. I had asked her to be brave and try all the rides at least once and if she didn't like it we would not ride it again.
After pulling into the station after the ride she could not contain her excitement. The CM asked if she liked it enough to try it again. My DD said yes and she told us to go thru the doors and down the hall...... Right back to the front of the line! One of her favorite memories!

She also loved the pic and balloons from Ariel left in our room for her Bday

She also lost her Magic wand on same trip and that was replaced by a wonderful CM at MK as there was no crying in WDW.

Love it there! Glad that DD 11 now wants to spread the magic and still states that the characters are real 'cause thats what she was taught to believe!:thumbsup2

A few trips ago our group was getting fastpasses for Jungle Cruise, when my younger brother wandered off. We got so worried, until we found him at POTC with a wonderful CM who pronouced him an official pirate with a certificate! It was so sweet, I think that made my brother's day!

A couple of years ago when my son was 2, we were walking through Epcot. My son was walking holding a pirate sword. A grounds keeper who was sweeping the sidewalk saw him and she turned her broom around and held it like it was a sword also. They had a fierce battle with my son ultimately winning the sword fight. (wink) He loved it!! For me it will be a memory that will last a life time.

Last year we were eating breakfast at Boma. Our server was extremely nice and we talked a lot about us and also about her. We had mentioned that we were eating at Mama Melrose's that night for dinner and that we had never been there before. She told us that the chef at Mama's actually use to be a chef at Boma. She told us he was incredible. Well fast forward to later that night at dinner. I ordered a steak and my husband had calamari. It was the best steak I had ever tasted and the calamari was delicious. We had mentioned to that waiter the story of the chef and he brought the chef out to meet us. The chef thanked us for coming and let us take a picture with him. At the end of the night we went to guest relations and gave them our Mama's waiter's name and told them about the great job he did and that he made our night.

Also, several years ago we were at The Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary and as we were placing our order, I couldn't decide if I wanted the shrimp skewer or a steak. I opted for the steak, but my waiter told me he was going to throw the shrimp skewer on there also for FREE. So I was able to enjoy both.

I love Disney and I truly beleive that people give back according to what you give out. Meaning if you are happy, nice, respectful and courteous to people, they will be happy, nice, respectful and courteous back to you.

I hope everyone has as joyous a time ih Disney as my family always does!!

Back in '09 we arrived on Thanksgiving day, our first park was Hollywood studios. DS insisted we go on Toy Story Mania:scared1: needless to say there were no fast passes left and the wait time was 120 minutes (we arrived at the park around 1ish). As we were walking I was explaining to DS that the wait to get on the ride was as long as the plane ride we just took to get to Florida and he would be much happier if we just waited until the next day to ride TSM. With that a CM tapped me on the shoulder and handed and said "here you go" an handed me 4 fast passes for TSM:thumbsup2 I was speechless and couldn't thank him enough:worship:.
What a great way to start our vacation off:)

In 2008, we went to WDW to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of adopting our 2 DDs. On the day of the actual anniversary, we planned a big day packed with exciting things to do. We started out at the MK and had a reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. We had lunch with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare and all of the characters made a huge fuss of the girls (who both have Autism). It was impossible to walk past any CM that day without them saying "hello princess Cinderella and hello princess Belle" and during the parade, Alice in Wonderland blew them both a kiss.

It was wonderful, but nothing has ever touched my heart more than 2 CM in the Disney Confectionary Store on Main Street. After the girls finished their BBB photoshoot at the end of the day, we took them in to get a candy treat to take back to the room. One CM was talking to the girls and uncovered that we were having a special celebration because we had been a family for 1 year. She turned to us and said "wait there, I'll be right back".

PicturesUpTo2011153.jpg

A minute or so later, she came back with a trolley and tells us that because it is such a special day, she is making our girls "chef for the day". She gave each a chef hat with chef of the day on the front, and on the trolley were 2 Mickey Head Rice Krispy treats, a bowl of melted chocolate and a bowl of sprinkles. The girls made themselves special treats and another CM came over and gave them special "year of a million dreams" pins, a red rose each and let them pick any candy treat the wanted from the store.

I have never forgotton those CMs and we plan on going back to see if they are still working there on our trip in February. We have had our girls for almost 5 years now and those two CM still have a special place in all of hearts. They were truly beautiful people and I hope to see them again in Feb! I know there are a few lovely CM on these boards :worship: so if you know either of these two, please let them know how much they have touched our special DDs lives!

That is an awesome story with great photos to boot!

Congratulation on your beautiful family. :goodvibes I hope you can find your favorite CM's again.

One time we were visitng with Tigger, and I had a purse with Tigger's picture on it. A CM noticed it and said to Tigger, "Look who this young girl has on her purse Tigger!" and then showed the bag to Tigger.

When Tigger saw it, here was his reaction:

It was so funny. That's me in his arms! He really liked seeing that purse, and that wouldn't have happened without the Cast Member showing it to him! One of my best memories ever of that trip!

When I retire, I want to work at Disney and create magical moments for people. :lovestruc

Funny I was just about to send a letter to Guest Relations about the CM's at the Emporium in MK when I saw this thread.

Last minute shopping before we left for the airport, we stopped in the Emporium. There were a couple of pins that I wanted to get during the MNSSHP but getting caught up in the moment I forgot to look for one in particular and purchase it. So as I am at the register, I asked the CM if there is any way possible I could purchase the pin. She asked me if I still had my ticket and I told her no since I packed everything away and we are airport bound. CM said to hang on a sec she will be right back. She was gone for about 10 minutes. When she returned, she brought 2 of each pin from the party so I could pick and purchase the pin I wanted!
I got choked up because they could have easily just said no and it would have been a loss for me but because of these special things that CM's do makes everything so worth it and that extra special!:thumbsup2

I love this thread!!

This happened 22 years ago and it seems like yesterday. Our family had just entered EPCOT when Goofy came up to my DS who was 4 at the time, grabbed his hand and went skipping towards Spaceship Earth with him. The whole family is laughing and trying to keep up and my son has the biggest smile on his face. To this day, Goofy is his favorite character.

on last yrs trip dd wanted the pink princess bucket hat. fine no biggie. until it was lost at preschool!!! we went back in feb and at le chapeau? in mk i spied it on the wall from the street and went racing in(first day of this vacay), as we were getting ready to pay i mentioned how happy i was to see they still sold it as dd had lost hers. jeannie gave it to her! i had the happiest princess!

on last yrs trip last nite there just outside le chapeau between that and the confectionary store dd tripped over dh's big feet as i was getting great grandmother a set of mickey ears. of course she scraped her knee and instant tears. a cm named lili came over and said wait here. she came back with sprinkle covered marshmellows on a straw. not only one for dd to stop the tears, but one for ds as well!

this yrs feb trip as well, ds was still too short for test track. i took dd on as dh waited in te car area with him. apparently he pitched a fit, which is rare for him. a cm, or gm employee came over with a car magazine for him to have and look at while waiting for us. it did the trick.

On our Trip in April of 2010.. DD was so uset its a small world was closed for refurbishment... I sweet CM tried to explain to her why it was closed...then walked her to the front of the line on every Fantasyland ride ! Magic.

Ours was more of a big thing than a little thing. Two AK CMs in Guest Relations (Shelley from NY and Florence from France) really helped us start our most recent trip off right.

We went to AK on Thanksgiving Day in 2010, the first day of our trip. We were doing free dining at Port Orleans on Saturday, but on Thursday and Friday, we were staying at the Swan until the dining kicked in. We were doing early ticket pick up. Shelley assured us that is was no problem, and she just had to verify our ticket package. She thought it would take 5 minutes or so. Turns out...not so much. Whoever she needed to call was not answering the phone. We waited outside the AK gates for well over an hour.

With each passing 10-minute interval, she gave us more free stuff. We got soft drink vouchers, 15 or 16 FPs for any ride, and VIP seating for FOTLK and Nemo. Shelley also gave our DD, who as 4 at the time, a stuffed turtle to thank her for her patience and good behavior. By this point, KS was almost ready to close. Shelley had finally had enough with whoever she was trying to call.

Shelley ended up printing out three-day hopper passes for us (not tied to our POR package), and she enlisted Florence to get us on the last ride on KS for the day. Florence walked us through the park at top speed and radioed ahead to have them hold the last safari truck for us. When we walked up and all the CMs were waiting for us, we felt like VIPS. Those amazing CMs turned what could have been a terrible start to a trip into one of our best memories.

I wrote a letter (on paper, the old-fashioned way) to Disney to let them know how great the CMs were, and I did get a call back telling me that they appreciated my comments and were glad I'd had such a good experience. I hope the CMs got a little recognition as well and know how grateful we are that they went above and beyond for us.

I came down with a bad case of the flu on the second day of my vacation. The housekeeper came in to clean and I couldn't even move out of the bed to let her clean. About an hour later there was a knock at the door. It took everything I had to open the door, but there stood the housekeeper with hot soup, 2 cans of sprite with a glass of ice and a shopping bag filled with magazines and a deck of playing cards. There was also a get well card from Mickey!
