Silver Pass | Guest Passes

Do you need to have a magicband in order to use silver pass|guest passes at the parks? We don't get to WDW often - and have not been since 2016 as a family and I'm not sure of the procedures with our passes.

I have a magicband as does my son, but we want to bring my mom with us. She really won't be going on rides, but just there to walk around and check out holiday decorations (we're going in December).

You can't use magic bands with guest passes. CM and spouse can, but the others (son, mom) use the guest pass cards for park entry. (they could use magic bands to open room doors, and I believe to charge items for purchase).

You can buy Genie+ and ILL using the guest passes.
