Silver DVC 25th Anniversary mailing ...

Really - I would not worry that much about old cards.... here is why:
Did you pay your 2016 dues? If so, carry a receipt. The SECOND you get a stink? Consider contacting your CC company & challenging the Yearly Dues charge.
Yup - that's a bomb run.... but when denied service for something you have paid for? NOT unreasonable.

It absolutely is unreasonable. Your dues (read: maintenance fees) go towards upkeep at your home resort. The perks are not paid for by your dues, and Disney tells you that they're subject to change at any time. Whether you receive any specific perk or not, you are still contractually obligated to pay your dues. You are not entitled to anything beyond the points you receive for your membership.

That said, why is it more convenient to carry the receipt for your dues payment than to carry a print out of your digital Member ID card, which they make freely available to you?

On a side note, we still haven't received my wife's membership card.
 
Ours arrived yesterday in SoCal ... with cards for both of us. Yawn.

Edited to add: The old cards were MUCH easier to read. The new cards do not used raised text and the font is considerably smaller than the old cards. I prefer the old cards.
 
Why do you think this is the case?

Because numerous people are stating only one party is getting the card, not all of those with ownership. There's been numerous posts about only one spouse getting a card.
 

What is this newsletter that people have mentioned? I am a new member as of December, but i read someone mentioning getting a December and then a January newsletter. Is there a way to sign up for and email newsletters or is this something i can find on the member website?
 
I don't think we have gotten this yet (if we did, it's been pitched..)...is it time to call DVC? We have a trip in April...

I just got off the phone with a very helpful Member Services CM. The information he has is that "cards will continue to be mailed throughout March". He said that if we haven't received them by April 1, call back.

He also said we could print out the digital card from the DVC site for use in the meantime. (I had already done that - it's good till April 18.)

So, here's hoping the company/department responsible for getting the *new* membership cards to us is able to get them all delivered by 3/31! :rolleyes1
 
We both got ours (MD) about a week or so ago. I just came across this thread. I kind of like the old cards better, as some have said.

We can verify that data.....

We RECEIVED our cards in MI. Just prior to receipt? We also called. We were also informed that the NEW deadline (moved from 1-31-2016 to 2-29-2016 to 3-31-2016) was now 3-31-2016. April 1? Close enough.

Given this - the "update" program has been, and remains, a failure. It was a simple task - print, then mail, new membership cards, in a timely fashion. It didn't happen. When was the last time your CC Company did this :)?

Just personal opinion - I would call NOW. Assuming you paid your dues - you deserve a membership card not an "E-Joke". Again, personal opinion - we have our cards- no dog in this fight - contents may settle on shipping. I'm simply saddened that DVC could not produce or behave as a serious business, and got yet another black eye over this....

I did call yesterday to ask for membership cards and I was denied. CM told me I have to wait to see if they come in the mail.
 
I live about 45 minutes north of WDW. No cards for the 3 of us listed as owners at this address.
