Silly question about "Animal Precent" and "Animal Cops"

Do you think that by simply airing these shows that animal abuse/neglect in NYC and Detroit have declined? Im thinking "yes" because people fear that they will end up on one of these shows and their neighbors/family/friends/co-workers/etc. would know what kind of people they are.

What do you think?

Nope! There are still idiots out there that think they will never get caught!

There is a case coming up here in Ohio about animal neglect.
She was a "breeder". I use that term loosely.
She kept animals in small cages, never cleaned them up, never gave them HW preventative.
AAAHAHHH!!!! She makes me sick.

So, no. There will always be some idiot out there that wants to beat up/abuse a helpless animal.

Sorry to rant...see too much abuse of animals as it is....

Cathy, yes. The NYC Humane Society officers have full police powers to arrest suspects. I think the Detroit ones have to turn evidence over to regular cops. They're both really good shows. Sometimes they're hard to watch though. I can't believe what people will do or not do to animals.

Oh my gosh! I never knew those shows existed. I could never watch them. I hope they do a lot of good!!!

I can't stand animal or child abusers. I have no tolerance for them at all.

I think the majority of the offenders don't even watch Animal Planet. I've seen so many "dog fight" cases where people are keeping those chewed up half dead dogs in dirty abandoned houses. Makes me sick. Those type of people don't care if they end up on TV. I can't even watch that show, it just makes me ill.

I'm all for exposing these monsters, but somehow I wonder if they would treat an animal inhumanely, would they care if they were caught publicly?
But you know, if it makes one person stop and think, then it is worth it.
