Going to be dining at Yachtsman on the regular dining plan. I'm wondering if Signature restaurants offer drinks covered by the plan that are not offered at non-signature restaurants. If not, can someone fill me in on what non-alcoholic beverages are covered under the plan? Thanks! princess:

Depends on the restaurant. It's typically soda or coffee. Some restaurants (that offer them) may also include non-alcoholic shakes and smoothies.
Not sure about Yachtsman.

Any idea if that kind of information is posted somewhere? My reason for asking is because I'm working on budgeting my tips for my plan meals. I want to add in the extra costs that might come up, like if one of us wants a drink that is not covered. Just easier to know ahead of time seeing drinks for 5 people can add up.

I doubt it because anything that is outside of the dining plan's guidelines is at the discretion of the restaurant and even the server. You'll find that someone might mention that they got xyz as a drink, but someone else might not get the same thing.

We were offered milkshakes, smoothies (no refills) and virgin cocktails along with the usual soda, coffee, tea, and lemonade at some restaurants. If you see something, just ask.

On the dining plan pdf it specifically excludes non-alcoholic drinks that include glow cubes or souvenir rim clip ons.

I have dined at the Yachtsman several times and have always been able to get a virgin pina colava as my beverage. Anything with alcohol in it, you will be paying for though.

Just FYI: I have also gotten virgin pina colavas as my beverage at Flying Fish, Artist Point, Mama Melrose, Konas, California Grill, and Narcoosee. However, I was refused at Citricos and Jikos. Also Yak & Yeti will not allow anything other than tea, sodas, or water for your beverage. We've gotten milkshakes or smoothies as our beverages at 50's Prime Time, Konas, Le Cellier, Olivias, Kouzzina, and Whispering Canyon.

Most TS you are allowed to get, soda, hot or iced tea, coffee, as your main beverage.

We have gotten milkshakes at Sci- Fi as our main beverage and/ or dessert.

When our DD's were younger ( both now over 21) a few TS would let them have virgin strawberry daquiri's- Cali grill, Narcoosee, Ohana's, Chefs of France, and at Tutto. But we were decline at Biertergarten, both resturants in Japan.

If you order tea with your meal (lunch and dinner), and then want coffee with dessert, you most likely will be charge for the coffee. For us it has been about 50 - 50. When we were at Flying Fish in Dec. we were not charge for coffee with dessert, but at Cali grill on the same trip we were charged.

At breakfast sometimes you can get a smoothie as your drink. Which for us was very good, both DD's would be ready to hit the parks and would hardly eat anything, but we could take the smoothies with us and they would have then drank by the time we got to the park. Also when ordering drinks at breakfast be mindful. That in some of the TS you can order, juice and another drink coffee, hot tea, or soda. At Donalds, we both ordered frunch and then a soda as well we were charge for it. But when we were at CP we ordered the same but were not charge for it.

I really think it depends on who you get as a server. But if you get a little bit of extra pixie dust make sure you let your server know you appreciate them, by adding a bit extra in the tip.
