So I just found out that my orchestra camp has been canceled. According to them, not enough participants signed up. Apparently there were just too many other camps that the kids were signing up for (Boy Scouts, etc.) and they didn't feel it was justified to bring the teachers all the way out there for only a few students. And there's no consolation prize or anything, it's just 'Too bad for the students who actually wanted to attend this, we'll fix it next year'.

That camp was pretty much going to be my entire summer. I have no friends, nothing else to look forward to, and nothing fun going on whatsover, so alas, it looks like nothing but reading, studying, and vegging out on the internet for me this summer. Joy. At least my parents will save some money on gas.

Sigh.

(And please pardon my stupid whining, I just needed to blow off some steam. )

Oh that is terrible. I hope you can find other things to get into throughout the summer. Have you ever thought about volunteering summer like a Nursing home or Childrens hospital or something like that?

Thanks. I've gotten over it somewhat now. (Unfortunately after being inadvertently coerced into crying in front of everybody, grrr).

I'd actually love volunteering in a nursing home, that sounds like it would be awesome. It doesn't seem like a possibility since this summer appears to be slated for nothing but schoolwork to get ready for taking college classes this fall, but I would certainly love to.

Not enough people support the true art of music these days. And if my school didn't have enough ignorant jocks in it, my school's sophmore date dance was cancelled because there was no "Bumping" and "Grinding."

People just don't see the true morals in today's society anymore.
