Has anyone ever used the HRH shuttle to Sea World? Do you know how often it runs and what times. Good experience or bad? THank you.

Do not count on the shuttles to sea World. We had an unfortunate experience during our recent stay at RPH. The shuttle was supposed to pick up at 10am. It never showed until 10:15 at which point the driver popped out and said that he had just come from Portofino and that the bus was full. they would send another one soon, as the bus from HRH could not hold all of the passengers that wanted to go from HRH. My son and I were very disapointed.
Granted I was there Easter week, which may have had something to do with it, but it was very depressing to get up early...wait and then not be able to get to Sea World. I also realize this is a free service, but don't promise something you can't deliver.
We took a cab the following day. $15 each way. It worked out better, because the park opens at 9am. We were able to do Kraken and Atalantis without waiting. By 10am the lines for those attractions were huge. By the afternoon the wait was over 90 minutes.
Hope this helps.

WE took the hotel shuttle in July. We took the first one in the morning with no problems. We got on at the Hard Rock Hotel and got to Sea World as the gates were opening.

We used this service once in August. I dont recall any problems but do recall wishing they left earlier. At that time they were three scheduled times for outbound and returns.

I also wouldn't count on hotel shuttles.
These were the times posted at the HRH during my stay in June 2004.

As you can see, the shuttle leaves at 08:55am, just when SWF is opening. The whole key to getting on JTA and Kracken with no wait is arriving the parking lot around 08:30am.
This is why I tell everyone to rent the car. Yes, you pay for gas, parking at the HRH, and parking at SWF, but the convience makes up for it. You can save some money back by visiting the grocery store and stocking a cooler. When I'm on vacation, the rental car becomes my 2nd home. I bring the cooler in the car and have drinks/snacks to eat when I arrive/leave the park.

For us it would only be worth it to rent the car the day we're going to SeaWorld. We'll be in Orlando for 18 days so I don't even want to think what it would cost to rent a car for that period of time. FL Tours gave us a quote of $210 (plus tip) to go from Orlando Aiport - to Nick Hotel - to Grand FLoridian to HRH back to airport. My kids won't reach the height requirement for Kracken so I'm really not worried about that. I would like to be there when they open so maybe we'll just take a cab or rent a car for that day only.

I rented a mini van for 15 days this past july and it was $300.00 well worth it

just call and get a price

I found too that renting a car is usually cheaper in the long run and so much more convienent. If you use promo codes etc..and coupon codes you can get a good rate.
Waiting around and fighting for the correct time and spaces on a bus really can be stressful! Especially if you have kids.
Mark in NJ...I can relate to that kind of situation! Never again!
:sad2:

Can you tell me what company you used? Thanks.

Well I'm glad others agree with me on the rental car. I don't hear about too many people using them, most spend the money on the limo services. That's why I made my web sites telling everyone where the grocery store and restaurants are.

I wonder if Enterprise would work for a couple days? Supposedly, they'll pick you up. Thrifty is also a good rental car company. I used them for my recent trip to Los Angeles. They don't over charge during the week like the major companies do. Most coupons only work on the weekends. Monday thru Thursday, they up their rates for business people.

We normally use Tiffany to and from the airport and reserve a car for 3 days at Hertz---right onsite at HRH. We got a pretty good deal through AAA this year. In June, we have already reserved our car for Fri, Sat and Sun so we can visit SW, Epcot and Wetn'Wild at our leisure. We did this on our last visit at US and it was marvelous. Like the others said, its much more convenient, you can catch a good meal outside of the parks and don't have to wait for shuttles to and from SW. We don't really need a car for whole time we are there, so we just lease for the days we want to visit other parks.

If you plan to lease a day or two, I highly recommend you reserve you car well in advance so you can have a vehicle available and get the best rate possible:earsgirl:

Alamo is onsite at HRH??
I looked at the Alamo website and I didn't see it there.

I have a July 2005 fullsize car reservation with National for $307.00 for 14 day rental.

Thanks but DH decided to just rent the car the day we're going to SeaWorld because he doesn't want the hassle of driving or paying for parking. We've had good luck with towncar services so I guess we'll just keep doing that.

We're going to rent a van for the one day we go to SeaWorld because I would also like to stop at the Titanic exhibit that day.
