We were thinking of driving towards Cocoa beach one day on our trip as their is a shuttle launch.

Can any one give me a recommendation of where to go and watch?

Also how long should we allow to get there, is the traffic usually bad when there is a launch?:goodvibes Its scheduled to go up at around 1pm.

we went to titusville and it was great

We got there about 3 hours beforehand and the traffic was fine but got heavier the nearer the launch got and the traffic was bad just after

A good place to watch from, is Bennets Causeway, just before Port Canaveral. If you get there early, there's a few shops, petrol station with toilets etc by the port. If you turn your car around and head back in the Orlando direction, there's a grass verge where you can park. Take a short walk towards the bridge where you will find a large embankment to sit on along with hundreds of others. Its a clear view across the water to the launch site which is about 13 mile away. Its not the nearest place, but it is a fantastic place.
Now, because you parked on the return side of the road, its just a short walk back it to your car and your will be one of the first back in Orlando. I think our jouney back was about 40 mins.
