Shuttle before Stay?

A group of 8 of us (6 adults, 2 toddlers) are getting ready for a trip to BWV from a Saturday to Tuesday. We'd like to stay somewhere else Friday night to save on points. Is there any hotel with free shuttle service that would take us to WDW on Saturday? Or should we just get a van to take us into WDW the night we arrive and stay at a moderate? (I've also thought about Dolphin or Swan as we are teachers and can get a discounted rate. Will they transfer our luggage from there?) Last thought - would renting cars be better on Saturday from an offsite hotel?

You can get luggage transfers out of S&D to BWV or you can just walk your luggage over since it is close

Another choice is to stay at one of the hotels in DTD but I would try the discount route for on-site first
