Showstoppers dance competition at DL hotel May 25-28

show stoppers is also a show choir competition (think GLEE), unless there is a separate dance only competition called Showstoppers I don't know about. I've taught show choir for 11 years. I would love to go see it, I've done showstoppers in the past, the only problem is it is a National competition and west coast show choirs are very different from mid west and Southern show choirs, in fact they have entirely different rules.
For examply west coast show choirs must have an acapella number and it must be at least 60 seconds long. Mis west (and I think southern too) don't have that rule but do have a mandatory mens only number and a mandatory womens only number, southern show choirs have a mandatroy dance only number.

So for a National show choir competition it si hard to confrom to others rules.

I'm not sure about tickets. We are from Canada..this is our first competition in the US, so it is very different for us! The rules and dance styles are so different than what we are used to here in Vancouver. There is an admission fee for competitions we go to here, but not sure about Showstoppers.

I had no idea it was also a choir competition..I would LOVE to see that!

Showstopper is a Dance/Talent competition that has regionals throughout the country. It is probably unrelated to the Show Choir competition by the same name. Most dance competitions are free to attend - in fact, I've never seen admission charged for the audience. That said, very few people who don't have kids they're cheering on usually attend - and venues do tend to fill up just with people from the dance studios attending.

My DD will be attending a Showstopper comp in May - unfortunately not at DL! I'd love to go to a comp there! I know they also have a West Coast Nationals in Anaheim in July as well - maybe some year we'll get to that one! :thumbsup2

Free to attend?! that is awesome...our competitions here charge an admission price and a program fee too. Its very minimal..usually $3-4 to get in, and if you want to buy a program it can vary from $3-6. Even us parents have to pay. My dd competes tonight at a local competition, even the DANCERS have to pay to go into the audience if they want to watch anything before or after their category!
We are very excited to do Showstoppers for the first time..especially at the DL hotel!!!

We will be there Sunday & Monday. I would love to see a show. Anyone have any idea where I can buy tickets?
