showbiz moms and dads

I have said it before and need to say it again....

Debbie Tye, the pagent mom, is very abusive. I really think her daughter should be removed from her care. Just the way she was talking to her in FAO--in my opinon, if the cameras would not have been there, the girl would have had her face smacked. Or hair pulled. Or something. Pagent Mommy is holding back b/c of the cameras.

The fact that she makes her 4y/o suck her thumb is so very mentally abusive. She has done this on every episode, sometimes more than once.

The fact that when the little girl woke up and her mother told her she was not pretty (excuse me...not "pagent pretty") proves to me that Debbie Tye does not love her child. Period.

And Shane's mom needs some serious help. What a witch. What time share was she showing with EPCOT as the view? Anybody here own that timeshare? Anybody lucky enough to get one of Shane's autographs:rolleyes:

The Nutter kids will be alright. I hope. They know their dad is crazy. They are going to snap soon. Big time. I couldn't imagine having such a selfish father or husband. My gay friends said that he is a "Closet Case" for sure.

Well I'm glad someone else caught Mr. Nutter as being a closet case as well. Jeez, it's so obvious. What he's doing is so selfish, no wonder why his kids are a bit hostile.

I can't wait til next week.

Everybody takes Pageant Pretty the wrong way. Most pageant kids know "Pageant Pretty" is hair and makeup done. My daughter knows the difference plus there is "Pretty Hands" which is the way to position our hands so if people knew the Pageant Lingo it would be so different. I do agree some moms are more extreme then others but thats Pageant life for you. No different the sports and the way moms and dads are there.

Thank heavens my Dh finally got the computer fixed, because i have been dying to post on this show ever since I saw Oprah on Tuesday.

I have now seen 1 and a half episodes of this show and the Oprah episode. And these ppl are out of minds. Completely. Whoever said the Nutters have the perfect last name, you are soo right. When Oprah first mentioned them i thought she was name calling cause i hadn't remebered the name from last week's episode. OMG is that dad a pice of work. And i am in total agreement with the closet gay theory. I am amazed he found a woman to marry him, AND KEEP HIM. He'd have been so out of my house, without the kids. So act on your own.

Little Jordan is soo cute. She's the only 1 who really seemed like she wanted to do it. She was having a fun time it looked like. Older Jordan, seems really confused to say the least. But I'm pretty sure she's only going on auditions to make mommy happy.

And poor poor Emily. If i were any relation to her at all, I'd be filing for custody after seeing these shows. Her mother clearly has no interest in her except as a beauty pageant winner. ANd even she says that Emily hates the whole thing except when she gets on stage. Well, name a 4yr old you know that does not love to show off. Pretty much every one I've met loves to show off and get attention.

Shane's mom baffles the heck out of me. I wanna know what time-sahre customers really care about getting an autograph from somebody they've nevber heard of! The kids in the last episode didn't seem to be all that excited about getting an autograph. I haven't seen him perform yet, so i can't comment on his talent. As far as the chorus of Annie goes, unless you're Daddy Warbucks or Punjab, there aint many male parts. But the little schedule snafu sent him into some serious stress reactions. Judging by that, i think his mom should have him go back to being a normal child. Like that'll happen:rolleyes:

I was surprised to hear that the whole thing is only 6 episodes long, but i really do hope they go back and find these ppl to tell us whay happens.

Sorry for the longpost. Couldn't help myself since the computer's been down LOL

Nope--I did NOT take "pagent pretty" the wrong way.

There is no reason to greet you FOUR YEAR OLD child in the morning and harass her by making her admit that she isn't "pagent pretty". It is gross. It is sickening. It is abusive.

And it _is_ different from sports that children are involved with. Spray-on tans? Having a young child's body judged in a bathing suit, with hair and makeup done like an adult. Putting gobs of makeup on a baby and calling it "pagent pretty"? There is nothing pretty about it.

I would bet the farm that Debbie Tye, who has written out checks for $500 for dresses and pays thousands and thousands for pagents (tan, makeup artists, hair stylists, hotel rooms, beauty bootcamp, etc.) doesn't have any money set aside for this little girl's future (college or otherwise).

Ugh.

No different the sports and the way moms and dads are there.

Not to start a debate here, but it is different. Yes, the parents can be over the top in both activities (god knows, we've seen enough crazy sports parents) but it's based on ability and effort, not on what they look like. This poor little girl IS adorable but being judged on her looks and "losing" because she's not "pageant pretty" enough has to be harmful to her self-esteem over the long run. Just my opinion.

$500 for that dress?
$500 for a little girls "flower girl" dress (basically what it looked like.)

hell - my WEDDING GOWN cost less then that and I still think I looked pretty damn good!

I really really really want to drag my DH to a time share presentation and have Shane's mom show us around just so I can see if she's that nutty w/o the cameras.

and just so I can go "who?" when she mentions her "famous son". heheheh
