I'm colorphobic! LOL! This place has (Previous owners choice...NOT MINE) reddish/burgandy carpet and countertops throughout. In the dining room (which is open to the red countertopped kitchen and red carpeted Livingroom/hall) has GREEN/WHITE/RED striped wallpaper. I LIVE WITH CHRISTMAS COLORS 365 DAYS A YEAR!!! :scared:

I can't afford to replace nearly 2000 sq ft of carpet right now. (And it's such an open floorplan, that it would seriously be close to 1200 sq fr to replace what I could see from the main living spaces.) Nor new countertops.

SO.......that leaves PAINT! The red fits in with a nice warm yellow. (It just works together....I don't know how, but it does! LOL!) So, yellow it is for my kitchen. (I've found a nice coordinating cream that I might do for the rest of the public areas, but for now, I just HAVE to cover those green stripes!!!!!)

So, show me your yellow walls! Inspire me! (OK....just keep me from chickening out! LOL!) I took the plunge and found a color I like, bought a sample, then painted a 2x3 piece of my wall. Now, I've commited myself to painting...no going back! :rotfl: The color was too light. It was supposed to be yellow (Benjamin Moore: Lighthouse if anyone wants to look it up) but it came out a cream color. very BLAH.

I'm leaning towards the color that is on the edges of disboards when I'm looking at thread titles. It's a very creamy soothing yellow. (I know there are different schemes, but I don't know which one I am using....sorry! LOL!)

Yellow & red... add some black and white... and you get Mickey!! Hehe

My kitchen is Sherwin William's Butter Up and I use red accents. Unfortunately my pics or their website doesn't capture the real color. It looks too creme in the pics but it is a nice bright yellow.

The furniture is still a work in progress...I need white side tables and a white dresser and I need curtains but here's one of my guest rooms

It's pretty on the website. I might go in and look at that today. :)

I love my yellow walls back at my room in my parent's place. We did a finish on it with a slightly darker yellow so it looks really cool, I think we used a rag or something and just whacked it against the wall. I'll be home later today, so I can take a picture. It's not yellow yellow, but it's a nice calm yellow.

Here is my breakfast nook Its a mustard colour

and then a golden yellow that I just did is Tobacco Road that I LOVE. Its golden but it has a nice yellow undertone.

Good luck!

I painted my kids playroom yellow. It's calle Peach tickle and I got it at Lowes. It's a light yellow and not a sunshine bright yellow. I think it's soothing.

Here's mine:

This was right after I painted and moved in, so it's a little more bare than in should be :)

I have a yellow kitchen and a lighter yellowish/gold living room.

I got both paints at Lowe's.

To truly appreciate your "christmas walls" we want to see a pic! ;) The image in my mind is just awesome. heh heh

This was before we moved in:

This picture is more about the couch, but you can see more of the walls in the background...

Color is called "Safari Sun" from Lowes.

It's richer in real life, DH and I both love it.

VERY pretty! And I'm jealous of your woodwork! :cutie:

OK...here are the pics. Camera's dying so no flash. (Why they look grainy and cruddy... I'm too lazy to pull out the good camera...LOL!)

here's the wall color now (Next to the paint I didn't like....it's SUPPOSED to be yellow:confused3) :

And here's the wall and counter in same pic. (Sorry it's a tiny area. My hubby is working on my shelves so the cabinets are emptied onto my countertops. You don't want to see that! :scared:)

Now you might be tempted to say that the countertop color isn't so bad.....but I have counters on BOTH sides of my kitchen and an island. (So 3 long countertops done in this!) Not to mention that they used the same thing in the baths! :confused3:scared: AND 2000 sq ft of the same color carpet. :scared1: (If you couldn't guess, all my furniture is in neutral colors! LOL!)

Wow.. just wow. hehe

The countertops aren't that bad though. It's just a "different" color!
