I'm colorphobic! LOL! This place has (Previous owners choice...NOT MINE) reddish/burgandy carpet and countertops throughout. In the dining room (which is open to the red countertopped kitchen and red carpeted Livingroom/hall) has GREEN/WHITE/RED striped wallpaper. I LIVE WITH CHRISTMAS COLORS 365 DAYS A YEAR!!!
I can't afford to replace nearly 2000 sq ft of carpet right now. (And it's such an open floorplan, that it would seriously be close to 1200 sq fr to replace what I could see from the main living spaces.) Nor new countertops.
SO.......that leaves PAINT! The red fits in with a nice warm yellow. (It just works together....I don't know how, but it does! LOL!) So, yellow it is for my kitchen. (I've found a nice coordinating cream that I might do for the rest of the public areas, but for now, I just HAVE to cover those green stripes!!!!!)
So, show me your yellow walls! Inspire me! (OK....just keep me from chickening out! LOL!) I took the plunge and found a color I like, bought a sample, then painted a 2x3 piece of my wall. Now, I've commited myself to painting...no going back!
The color was too light. It was supposed to be yellow (Benjamin Moore: Lighthouse if anyone wants to look it up) but it came out a cream color. very BLAH.
I'm leaning towards the color that is on the edges of disboards when I'm looking at thread titles. It's a very creamy soothing yellow. (I know there are different schemes, but I don't know which one I am using....sorry! LOL!)
