Shouldn't there be some rumors by now

When he said, free dining had just been announced to be extended til November 18th, did he mean around the office (like during a CM meeting maybe) or that it had been announced to the general public?...I guess only time will tell. Thanks for the info though...all rumours are better than none:cool1:

Hi everyone,

I'm hesitant to post this in case it's somehow not accurate (please don't yell at me). I am planning a trip in Jan2012, and I was on the phone with a CM yesterday asking when he would guess discounts might be announced for that period, if they were going to do them. He said they just announced free dining through November 18, and he used that to make a guess about when they might announce discounts for January. I checked on the website today, and I didn't see it out there. It didn't appear to be on Mousesavers either, so I'm not really sure what that means. Maybe those of you going then may want to check on it? He made it sound like it was a general offer for everyone, so I don't know... For all you going then, I really hope it's true! And hopefully this isn't something you all already know.

I just got off the phone with a CM who said that the only offer available for October right now for a Disney Rewards Visa ($50 credit, purchase discounts, and vacation financing) and that currently the FD offer was through September 24. She didn't see anything that was currently being offered for October; however, said that we had a lot of time between now and then and that Disney always seems to have new things come out.

Basically the message I took away from the conversation was that we should be patient and that something will be coming out.

Man, I'm gonna hope that's not right. I wouldn't know WHAT to think at that point (since we're going in December). We didn't get the great Southwest rates either because they ended mid-November.

What was the great Southwest rate?

What was the great Southwest rate?

They had a birthday sale and many fares were $80. I could have gone to Orlando in October or November for that. December is hanging around $144, but last night for the first time when I checked there were some $104 fares on my dates, just not the times I want. I think it's worth $40 to take the early AM flight and still have some of the day left when we arrive. So I wait....... still.

We got a $89 flight down to MCO, but returning on the non-stop flight I want has been priced as high as $368 :scared1: The lowest I have seen it for is$190. I can get a cheaper one, but it stops with a layover on the way home. We are hoping to be able to get something closer to $104, but I think I might be happy with $144. We are flying on a Sunday so it is not going to be easy getting a low fare.

I agree that the flight down it is worth the extra $40 to get there with some of the day to enjoy. Coming back we try to get a non-stop because we don't like to drag out the sad feelings of leaving Disney behind. :sad1:

We will be waiting and hoping as well. Thanks.

^^This! I want the dining plan so I don't have to pay for any meal while there & here DH complain at the bill, lol!

Me too! I have done the math each year and DH just cannot understand when the bill comes that we are coming out ahead by not using the DDP. He gripes about the cost of the meal and shouldn't we just eat CS...yada yada. So from now on, it is the DP for us...even though its more expensive overall for my family. At least I can eat where I want without hearing the complaining that we are paying $$$ for a meal! :confused3

Do you think the current free dining will be extended (having to buy the $100 photo book) or a different free dining offer will be made for oct-dec?

I think that if they do offer FD for the Oct - Dec time frame, it will be the same one they are offering now for Aug/Sept. You get FD if you purchase the Memories package--the package which includes the book.

Oooooh...good rumor!:thumbsup2 Let's hope it comes true.:goodvibes

WDW site down. Can't book rooms or packages right now. Here's hoping it's a sign of something good tomorrow...:confused3:wizard::confused3:wizard::confused3:wizard:

^^^I noticed that too as I ws trying to even price a possible trip in October. Will be watching closely!

Just off the phone with resort reservations.....system is down:confused3

I am trying to book BWI CL for early December and the CM tod me that I had a PIN attached to my name for the QSDP:confused3. Thought that was odd with a CL

CM said she had no prior info re: a system upgrade (read discount!!!) but I was surprised by the PIN for early Dec:banana: BUT I am still hoping for another nice one like the 40/42% from years past.

Keeping my fingers crossed and will call back in a few hours (or when someone on the DIS tells me that the system is up and running!):goodvibes

Not yelling at you at all...but the front line CM at CRO are usually the LAST to know about these things it seems. I would be very (but happily) surprised if they had been told already. Some TA would already be on here spilling the beans. The TAs usually find out a day or so in advance, and they are usually the ones that spill on the web.

Do you think the current free dining will be extended (having to buy the $100 photo book) or a different free dining offer will be made for oct-dec?

I would be totally SHOCKED if they do not continue the photo book requirement. There's no way that the best free dining offer of the year isn't the Aug-Sept one...

The TA system has been down off and on for several days. Each time it comes back up, there's nothing new with the site. I don't put too much stock anymore on the site being down considering it's down several times a week for long periods of time, probably 2 - 3 hours each time. This weekend, it was down at least 12 hours straight.

It's run by hamsters on wheels!!!!

Last 2 years.. Fall offers were announced in July. So I wouldn't expect anything for another 2-6 weeks.
Then again, with the early release of 2012 packages, it is possible we will see earlier discounts.

Hi, We are planning to go in early March 2012. We want to go when it is still cool enough to walk around but the days a getting just a little longer. (I melt when it goes over 83 degrees) You said the 2012 pkgs are released. Where can I find those deals? We haven't booked anything yet. When should I start booking? We usually stay at moderate French Qtr but would LOVE to try a deluxe some time . . . help!!

I found out through a valuable source that the old pin codes exspire on the 14 of July and new ones posted on the 15 of July 2011. You should also call on the 15th to see if you also have a pin code attached to your name.Going to the Mouse House Oct 14-23 2011 Have a great day.:wizard::wizard
