Question of the week....

We have friends that just booked BLT through CRO for April vacation week. Question is should we go at the same time....after our November trip with 21 family members I burned through all our points so we'd have to borrow to make the trip. On top of that we would have to keep our fingers crossed to get a standard view 2 bed at our home resort and hope air fare is low. :confused3

The factors in that decision for me would be crowds, and air fare. Both will be high at that time of year.

I'm sure the fiscally responsible answer is probably no, but I say it's worth a shot at planning!!! WAHOOO Good luck!:goodvibes

Actually, crowds won't be bad at all. Since Easter is 3/31, by the 3rd week fo April the crowds will have thinned considerably. Easter was later this past Spring (4/8, I think) and Mass vacation week was still not busy at all. It is a common misconception up here that our vacation week is very crowded in Disney. But having been for the past 5 years that week, I can say that the only really bad week was 2011, when Easter was in late April. Just be prepared to see a lot of guests wearing Red Sox gear.

As for cheap airfare? Not gonna happen. Sorry.

Agree with PP .... no time like now.. you can always buy 24 points, and you can use the rent trade board to buy someone elses.. if you run out of borrowed and bought :stir: .

You can never have too many memories.. and unless you dont want to go, or it is an actual financial burden ... GOOO you wont regret.

as a side note.. could be nothing.. but I booked for 03/29 -04/09 in a 1 bedroom at the BC we are now past Easter (into those that have the 2nd week of spring break). the only day not available (as of yest) was the 29th. a fri night (weird right???)... but Easter sat/Sun was still open at BC past the 7 month window.. Could be the 50- 56 points per night as the studios were gone, but IMO could be a lower spring break season then usual.... could be me hoping too :s

I agree with this. We've done this week a couple of times, and as long as Easter doesn't coincide the crowds aren't bad. But airfare? We drove both times, if that tells you anything!;)

Ugh, the dreaded April vacation airfare. When planning a big family trip in 2011 over April vacation, the hunt for reasonable airfare nearly threw me over the edge.

We are contemplating another big familly trip in a few years but looking at some different times of year because of airfare alone.
