Should We Go? Could We Go?

1st WDW trip was June 2002. CBR for 7 days. DD5, DW and I (DH) just loved it.

2nd WDW trip was Aug 2003. CSR for 7 days. DD6, DW and I just loved it again!

We then decorated our kitchen in Disney.

I can't get enough of it. I am a ridiculously doting father on my little girl who is now a DD7.

This year's vacation (we can afford only one per year), we are staying at the Radisson Twin Towers for three nights, going to Discovery Cove for a day, Sea World for two days, then switching over to the Royal Pacific Resort for three nights and going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure for two or three days.

There's the rub!

We can do Universal for three days orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

My crazy idea is one day driving over to the MK. Using our left over PH+ tickets and spending time at the MK, taking the Monorail to Epcot for Mission Space, seeing Mickey's Philharmagic and closing out the day with the new Wishes fireworks.

Should we do it?

I hate the idea of being so close to WDW and not going.

Although the other vacation attractions should be wonderful.

We have four days of PH left and three plus features.

I figured that would be a future WDW trip with four days at the parks and three days of plus features wrapped into a one week vacation, mostly paid for!

Now, I must admit I am getting my Disney fix in that we are staying four nights at Disney's Vero Beach resort after the Orlando time.

We stayed there last year and I have never had a better ocean resort experience. I just loved it!

So should we go to WDW? Or save our PH+ tix for a few years from now?

I would go for it. A day at Disney is a great way to balance the "Universal imbalance". Whatever you decide, have a wonderful trip!

If I got that close to Magic Kingdom and didn't go,I would give myself a big kick,plus DW would kick me to.You've got a great plan which I think is very doable.So go grab some magic I say.

Sea World is a great park, but it only takes one day. So, you can use that day to help get your Disney fix as well!

With a 7 year old, you probably don't need 3 days for Universal/IOA. My kids were not terribly thrilled with universal Studios, except for Shrek, Men in Black, and the kids area. The making of the movie stuff (twister, earthquake, and jaws) bored them. They do love the theming at IOA, and two of them are thrill riders, so we spent more time there, but with front of the line passes, it goes much quicker. They did love the play areas at IOA too. We also did Discovery Cove/seaworld last summer, and they were a lot of fun. It sounds like you will need to relax at the beach after this trip!

You can do US/IOA in 2 days. I say go for it and hit the MK also

I would do your plan, but would still make sure I was spending 2-3 days at the Universal parks. Either add a day to your schedule or go to Seaworld for 1 day. You'll want enough time at Universal to enjoy the resort--it is beautiful and your daughter will enjoy the pool. You are allowed to pool hop to the other Universal pools, too, and the HRH has a nice pool with a water slide.

I suggest if you do, that you go to Epcot from trans and ticket center first and do Mission space, and whatever, then go to the MK and stay there rest of the time. that avoids the there and back again in the middle of the day thing.

We did a mixed trip in 1998...
I called it "ODC" for Orlando Done Cheap"...
It started out as a "none Disney trip"
We did US for 2 days + SeaWorld for 2 days + 1 day Water Mania /Wet & Wild + 1 day Kennedy Space Center + 1 day Cocoa Beach...AND 1 Day @ EPCOT!

You already have a Hopper...So go for it!!!!!!

I can't imagine being in Orlando and not going to WDW, although I actually had to do it once. My company sent me for a seminar. It lasted three days, but by the time we were released for the day, the parks were only open for a couple more hours. I thought of at least doing PI or going to DTD, but was without a car and cab fare would have been too expensive. If we had had a whole day to ourselves I would have been willing to pay for a cab in order to spend a day at MK.

For me to be that close and not go under the railroad bridge to see the castle at the end of main st. would be just horrible. Go for it!

mm6mm6 ... after reading the responses so far, sounds like none of us are suggesting that you skip WDW...

hmmm.... think that's because we're all a bunch of Disney fanatics??? hee hee!

I've never been anywhere in Orlando with my family except WDW... we never even get out on the main road except to go to and from the airport. We don't see any point in missing the magic for one minute!!!

It seems to me that you MUST have known the responses you would get from this post.. Come on, you already knew you were gonna do it BEFORE you even asked, didn't you???

You didn't REALLY think that ANYBODY on this board would tell you NOT to go to WDW!??
