DD and I are heading to WDW August 17-24. The two of us went last year around the same time last year. What I am wondering is should we get the DDP? Will it be beneficial? Can you use a Table Service for a Counter Service?

DD - In many ways is not a typical 9 yr old. She will eat just about anything. Not like her little friends who each chicken fingers every day. In fact many times she is allowed to order off adult menu and brings 1/2 home for another meal.

Typically what we ate last year:

Breakfast - Milk, piece of fruit and croissant or bagel.

Lunch - Split an adult size sandwich, so that we were not overly full and had room for snack.

Snack - An ice cream, cookie or something similar in the park we were in. We would go through 2 purchased waters as well.

Dinner - We didn't make it into any Table Service due to the waits. I really like table service, but am questioning being held to a specific time, don't like planning to death, but believe I may have to this time around. There are a couple of places that I want to try this year.

Thanks for your feedback.

If you like the way you ate last year and plan to do about the same this year the DDP does not sound like a good idea for you. It is most beneficial if you are doing TS meals every day. The way you describe your eating habits you would probably spend less than the price of the plan for you and your daughter. If you do decide to do some TS places you will need to make the reservations whether you are on the plan or not if you have specific places you want to eat and specific times. The days of being able to walk in and get a table are pretty much gone. We did manage to get a table at Mama Melrose Jan2 with less than an hours notice but that was for earlier than we usually eat but we were just glad to get a table at all.

I agree with the previous poster. Judging by your habits last year, I don't think it would be worth it. You get so much food on the plan, which for me is not a problem. Plus, I like a sit down meal everyday and don't mind the planning.

I'd suggest not getting it, but making reservations for those restaurants you definitely want to try.

Agreeing with the other posters. Unless you're planning on table service every day, it wouldn't be worth it. I don't think (not sure on that though) that they let you use TS for CS, but if they did you would lose a TON of money (spending $38/day per adult to eat two counter service meals maybe worth $20).

Thanks everyone. Looks like we will skip it this year. I appreciate the feedback.
