Should we buy Vero Beach?

We come out at certain times-like the turtles on the beach!

We have to be careful, the Vero bashers come around every so often to beat up on our nice Vero purchase. After a while, you get a little tired of it.

Nice to hear from Vero supporters.

I hate VB What a failure. Overpriced. Snooty CMs. Food stinks. Beach what Beach? I can't see the Ocean from my room. The Ocean is too rough. Nothing to do. Very boring place. Sorry must be my medication.

Oh yea Congratulations!:)

Yeah, Madcoco -- Terrible place. ;) ;) No one should go there --- especially not in the winter (when me, maadcoco, ncligs, CaptainMidnight and now poj7 will already be fighting for our desired villa). ;) ;)

My Wife and I live in Tampa and bought at Vero last year.
WE LOVE IT!!!!
To us it is what a beach getaway is supposed to be.
Awesome sand (you can find sharks teeth on the beach!)
Secluded ....but close enough to town that it is not a hassle to go if you need to.
You can surf,boat,jetski,sail..................You get the pic!
There is a small upstairs patio that overlooks the ocean where you can watch the sun set and have a drink(or a pizza)
We have stayed at several of the rooms and aside from the Villas our favorite room is the ocean view, it is not as big as the one or two bedroom rooms, but to fall asleep listening to the waves is as close to Heaven as I can imagine!

Hope this helps!

  Oh, FloridaFam (aka VBFam) how could I have forgotten you. My deepest apologies. :(

And, look how many other DVC Vero lovers are posting on this thread! I'll gladly "fight" with all of you to stay at our "other home". :smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

Quick question,

If VB is so great, how come it is so far behind HH in selling out?

We bought an offsite (HH) because it was 62.00/pt w/MB and I didn't want all out points at WDW. There are to many side vacation costs when we stay on-site, especially when there's no decent DVC discount on park passes:mad:

We selected HH over Vero because we already owned at WDW and didn't want two FL timeshares. HH will be a great summer vacation spot. It is closer to our house, and the kids will be out of school during the summer.

We will spend a couple of days at VB after the cruise this November.

Wish DVC would build another off-site. They give the whole program affordable flexability.

Johnny-
I agree. I would also like an additional off-site DVC, but where? I know there have been many posts saying that Disney will not do this.

RE: Vero, I have only stayed in the Inn, but when I go w/ the rest of the family I will need a 2BR. So, what Villa is recommended?( not that I will be in competition w/ any of the above mentioned Vero lovers--Oh yeah-I will be fleeing the cold, cold NE, too). Count me in the group photo for Vero Lovers!!

One of the things I love is the convenient parking and elevator access. So convenient-not like at BCV or BWV or WLV.

I just don't think VB is worth it. There are better beach locations in the state of Florida than VB.

As promised, here comes the previously mentioned "Vero Bashers"

What is a "best" beach area is pretty subjective. To some, the hustle and wide expanse of Miami Beach or Ft. Lauderdale are deisreable. Someone else will rave about the Gulf Coast beaches. Personally, I really love the "private" feel of Vero. It sort of seems wild/undeveloped. I can't really explain the appeal. But, to me, it's ideal. ;) It's all in what someone wants in a vacation. As I've mentioned before, the area also seems to appeal to quite a few developers who are selling multimillion dollar homes on this stretch of undesireable beach. ;)

Well said Pam, as usual. I like the unspoiled feel of the area as well, reminds me of when I was younger in Pampano Beach. Boy that has changed.

The time when I am especially impressed is at night, and the absence of the city lights glow down by the ocean and the ability to see lots of stars out at night. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

The peace, quiet and solitude of Vero is what makes it so special. The beach is short from what I am used to, but I am not complaining. There is so much more to Vero than just the beach.

Saying VB is short from a Beach standpoint is being honest, not bashing it. VB is a great resort but it and the area have it's shortcomings as well, as do all DVC resorts, just not many of them. From an area and Beach standpoint, there are better places. Overall though it's a great resort to relax and it's location puts it as a great place to split time between WDW and the beach. VB is one of those resorts that one can really enjoy or really not like at all depending on how it grabs you. The big advantage of owning there is being able to get a Beach Cottage high times.

I do not mean to bash VB in any means. I just find the location is sub par in my opinion.
