About a month an a half ago I posted a message asking whether this chicken should ride Tower of Terror. Many very helpful people encouraged me. I also got unsolicited advice to ride Rock 'N Roller Coaster which I thought I'd never get near. Well, I just got back last night from our WONDEFUL 9 day trip (I'll post trip reports, dining reviews, etc. later) and I have to share the results.

I RODE BOTH OF THEM! :bounce: Multiple times! I think ToT is my new favorite ride. RnR is not bad - better than Space Mountain.

Here's how it went. Our second morning my husband had a business engagement and my sons (14 and 17) aqnd I went to MGM at opening. Walked straight to RnR - it was down :( Thought that might be a reprieve but was a little disappointed too. Got fast passes hoping it would get fixed and went to ToT. Sign said line was 10 minutes but pretty much just walked through - not much chance to work up an anxiety attack. Got a car with all seat belts. Pretty much left bruises squeezing DS14's hand. Was giggling by the end of the ups and downs.

Walked over to RnR. It was back up - not time for fast pass. Got in line - about 5 or 10 minutes. My kids were teasing me about what might have been broken - I wasn't really amused. Kept asking CMs I saw if anyone ever passed out. They kind of looked at me funny. Asked my kids if they'd be sure to get me out at the end if I fainted. I think I freaked out some poor little girl - she was crying by the time it was her turn to get on (my kids assure me she couldn't hear me worrying, but I don't know). Anyway, I got on. The take off was definitely a rush (you can see me clenching my teeth in the photo). I don't care what others say, I COULD tell that I was upside down, but it wasn't really unpleasant. Very smooth and not hard on the body like Space Mtn. I even opened my eyes once or twice. Only screamed a little. Used fast pass and rode it again (I kid you not!).

Wanted to ride ToT again but the kids wouldn't let me. Came back on our last morning with DH and rode both again. Maybe I'm not such a chicken after all! I might even consider California Scramin'next time I'm at Disneyland.

Way to go!! I'm very proud of you, and hopefully other people out on the DIS who are a little unsure of going on these rides will look to you as an example. :)

On ToT, did you notice the room service trays left out in the hall and the shoes for the shoe shine boy??? If not, YOU HAVE TO RIDE IT AGAIN!! Also, can you remember what song you got for Rock and Roller Coaster??? The best, IMHO, is "Walk This Way". 29 days until my next ride!

Missed the trays and shoes - maybe I better get back on the plane :) I'll have to look for them next time.

They played "Walk This Way" as we left the recording studio preshow - it's my favorite Aerosmith song too. I'm still trying to figure out the song during the ride itself. I have to go back through my Aerosmith music to figure it out.

Good for you. I'm glad you liked these rides. I'm planning on going on them myself when we go to Disney this summer. Last year I didn't want to do the child swap thing. This year, try and stop me!!!

Way to go !! That was my experience with RnR exactly ! Then on our last trip DS(13) asked me to challenge myself and ride the Hulk with him - since he had been bravely challenging himself many times last year due to medical treatments, what could I say ?!! I was quelling my panic the whole time I was in line - then I LOVED it!! Went right over and rode Fire then Ice - now I'll try anything once - you never know until you try ! :smooth:

OK...so I might try RnR
In your opinion ,which one was scarier ToT or RnR?:smooth:

bridgettesmom - I was much more scared about RnR but I'm not sure why.I was just really apprehensive about the upside down thing. I think I could imagine the drop feeling being like Splash Mountain but more intense but had nothing to use to imagine the sensations from RnR. I still don't have anything else to compare it to but definitely think if you can do Space Mountain you should try RnR.

Oooooooooooooooh now you've gone and gotten me all brave. :)

I've never done RnR or ToT but I really want to. I've done every single other attraction in WDW at the mo and I'd love to have done all of them. :)

But I'm scared. Not in the conventional way. I just really don't want to lose my lunch. I don't mind speed and twists and turns. Space Mountain is my fav ride. But I don't like spinning sensations (i.e. fast tea cups :) ) or dropping (I can just do Splash but Jurassic Park at US just about killed me! ).

But I really wanna experience both attractions. I'm thinking RnR might be easier but the drops in ToT .............

Oh, I don't know!!! ;)

Ona ;)

Way to go karenrc!! I am not so much afraid of those rides as I am of passing out or throwing up:o I am more afraid of embarrassing myself than of the actual ride-I wish my dh was big and brave but he gets motion sickness so he won't try anything:rolleyes: Hopefully when my dd's get a little older and a little braver maybe I will work up enough courage to try:D

Definitely try California Screamin'. I had the chance to do it on our Feb trip to CA. It's milder than RnR at take-off and the loop is gentle. And my brother Steve talked us into Maliboomer. I never thought would enjoy a ride like that, but it's great! Just use the mantra "Mickey wouldn't hurt me."

If you liked Rock 'N Roller coaster you will love California Screamin. I also hesitated about the Maliboomer but it was great. The thing I didn't like at California Adventure was the inside gondolas of the Ferris Wheel, but I don't like ferris wheels period.
