The difference is that liberals wont condem their own, be it the anti-semitic jackson,kkk member or person who uses the "n"word bryd or even the scandalous sharpton or person who allows people to use their office to run a call service barney frank as a few examples of people who have shammed themselves and their movement and are still thought of in high regards. not to mention having a senator responsible for the death of another person in kennedy.

I hate the double standard I see here but I gotta say--I want Lott to go 'cause he's not a good leader. His 'shared-powers' stuff just bites and I'm afraid of what he'll give away this time around.

I'm sure that if you look into the background of every human being you will find more than a few skeletons. Everyone, including you, bob, have said things that would get a person criticized in a commentary like the one you linked us to.

Truthfully, I don't see the comparison at all. Those quotes, though insensitive in their content, were said in jest. Trent Lott made a comment, not for a laugh but as a genuine commentary of the way he feels about the history of this country. He's being put to task by both parties and he has to deal with it.

I don't believe that ignorance and stupidity is conservative or liberal, it's human.

So was it just a joke that bryd was a member of the kkk???? Or used the "N" word last year on TV????
Of was it a joke that jackson uses the term hymietown to describe NY and ALWAYS takes the side of the palastians over the Israelis???
Or that keyy insulted Italians/welfar people and people's food choices in a stereotypical manner!!!
These people are just as guilty of anything that lott has done but because they are liberals its excused!!! Or was it a joke that kennedy left a woman in his car to drown to death??

Hmmm, and all along I thought he was just saying something to make a 100 year old guy feel good at his birthday party.

Kerry was on the radio...Lott was at a birthday party. I guess Kerry goes on the public airwaves to be a comedian and Lott goes to private birthday parties for 100 year old men in order to state policy?
