Should I have been charged yet for Hoop-De-Doo?

I made an ADR for Hoop De Doo in January 2008. We are on the dining plan and will be using 2 of our dining plan credits for this meal. However, I noticed on my charge card that I was already charged for the meal. Is this correct?
I thought they waited until you either didn't show up or when you paid for the meal.

Thanks.

If you are using the DDP, they should have taken the credit card number as a guarantee only. If you don't actually show up or decide not to use DDP, then you get charged. You should call disney dining to have the charge removed.

You should NOT have been charged for this. You need to call Disney and have them take the charge off your card immediately. I have heard of this happening once in a while. Since you are using the DDP, you should not be charged at all for this meal. The only reason they take your card # is in case you don't show for the ADR, and even then I don't think they charge you the full meal amount. Even if you were paying OOP, they would not use the card # you gave them over the phone to charge the meal, they take payment at the time of dining just like any other restaurant would do.

Good luck getting it resolved!

Actually that's not true. I was paying out of pocket, made an ADR, and they charged my card about two days after the ADR was made. Now, if I cancelled outside of the 48 hour window, they would have refunded everything.

How much is the Hoop dee doo? I am thinking of doing that one out of pocket too.

Christine is correct! I made my HDD ADRs about a month ago inorder to get cat 2 (best you can get with the DDP) but the 2008 packages weren't out so I had to pay OOP. My debit card was charged.

Later, when the 2008 packages came out, I called and notified Disney that I was on the DDP and I was credited. It took about a week.

That was a debit card. Places take that immediately because accounts are so easy to close or can have too little cash in them. I've done HDDR 6 times and never had a charge on my cc.

Perhaps it is not correct on the dining plan then. BUT I CAN TELL YOU that if you say you are paying out of pocket, they charge the full amount when you make the reservation I did it two weeks ago, I then had to cancel it and they refunded my account. SO this is not a case where they just take a card number if you are in fact paying for the meal. The dinner shows are not the same as other dinners where they take the card number.

I never told the CM it was a debit card and there is no difference in a Visa/Mastercard insured debit and a CC. Absolutly none.

It would be impossible to determine if I was giving a debit or credit card number. The only time a debit card is ran as a debit are times when you use a pin to acess your account. Any other time it's processed as a credit card. I know this as I am a retail manager and have four CC machines in my buisness.

The Disney World website states that prepayment is required for Hoop De Doo.

I do not know how they handle it for dining plan guests, but for out of pocket they will require prepayment. The website says there is a cancellation policy that may result in charges, but doesn't specify the cancellation window.

In July I did ADR's for CRT and my CC was charged the entire amount. We're going to pay OOP for it, even tho we;re getting the DP. (When I booked the 08 rates weren't out.) As long as it's not an issue the day of I don't see the big deal of being charged for it, but am bringing the statement showing that charge.

I don't know what the right answer is, but I wish they'd be consistent with the charges.

Last year we booked this and had dining plan. I told them i wanted to pay oop and not use dining credits. My CC was charged right away for all 4 of us. A couple months later we decided not to go and I called and my CC was credited back.

This year I have dining plan again and booked HDDR. I told them I had dining plan and wanted to use TS credits. They took CC # in case we don't show up but my CC was not charged.

Si I guess if you have DP your credit card is not charged but if your not on DP you pay 100% when you book it.

If you told them you were using the dining plan, you should not of been charged. Just a guarantee hold, I booked it a few days ago and no charge on my credit card..
