Should I call CRO back?

I called CRO today and booked our room. The CM asked if I needed tickets. I said that I didn't need them yet, as we haven't decided what we will need just yet. He said he would book me as a package for now, and that way, I'll have the trip insurance and I can go to WWS and play miniature golf or some such thing. Is this the best way? I may buy the tickets from the Disney store in our neighborhood. Is this costing me more as a package?

Sorry, this is my third time going and I still feel like a complete newbie! Should I call back and insist that I really only want room only for now? Will I save $ that way?!
(I had to put down $200 deposit) Oh, and we are staying at OKW on rented points first, although that probably doesn't matter,
Thanks Dis

As long as you aren't buying the tickets at the gate, your price is probably the same.
I would keep the package (WDTC).
The golf is free to you. So I say stay with the package. :thumbsup2

Trip insurance cost extra, so unless you purchase it (and need it), I would call them back and change it to a room only until you decide about the tickets. Don't forget about some of the ticket outlets (like Ticket Mania), they may have a better price for what you decide to get. Unless you are interested in the dining plan, I don't think a package is really want you need.

Just a warning, and I may be wrong, but the cancellation policy for a package is much different than a room only reservation. ALSO, and important difference, I believe you have to have your "package" paid in full 45 days before you check in. Room only reservations are paid upon check in/out. (minus the one night deposit necessary to hold a room only ressie)

I always only book room only. Be very careful of the package rules. There is more fine print with the package.

Ya know what? you are exactly right! He did say those exact words about the cancellation policy - - And, he said it at about 90 miles per hour. Sounded like the end of a car commercial. I'll make it room only, I just feel better that way. Thanks!!!!! :goodvibes

It does matter. You cannot get a room on points thru CRO. The room must be booked by the DVC member who is renting you the points and it is done through DVC Member Services.. Also, there are no packages available when booking on points.

I would contact CRO asap. I also would contact the person from whom you are renting the points, they must make your reservation and then they should send you a copy of the reservation confirmation.

There is a lot of information about this on the DVC forums on these boards.

You're fine....it didn't charge you any extra...when you book through CRO I think that they have to book it as at least a basic package, which includes admission into WWS or mini-golf. We have done this twice....the mini-golf is great for that first night we arrive and do not have enough time to go to the parks, or too tired too!
