Now this is all hypothetical, assuming I can move one of my vacation dates on short notice, but this is what I'm thinking of doing... I think too much on my days off 
I'm currently going on my first solo trip from 8/11 - 8/15, staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I arrive at MCO at about 11:30am on 8/11 and I'm leaving MCO at about 5:00pm on 8/15.
I am now thinking of arriving in the evening on 8/11 (around 8ish, so I wouldn't get to the hotel until around 10) and leaving at 5:00 on 8/16 instead. Airfare is cheaper on the Monday rather than the Sunday, but I would need to add on another night at the WL... however that's now getting into Value season and it wouldn't be too bad with my AP discount... plus I'd be able to see the Summer Nightastic Fireworks and Wishes
I'm thinking this will be good since I'll be able to work on the 11th, go straight to the airport and fly out, then relax at the hotel that night and be able to start early on the 12th.
Any thoughts?
