:guilty:I flight in 27 days I should be excited but instead I'm miserable, last 3 weeks I've been battling with earache, dizziness and vertigo gp says I've got fluid trapped in middle ear.
2 years age I hurt my knee just before Disney too. :crutches:
Got some earplanes for the flight but need other tips I'm so fed up.

My mother had this and asked to be referred to a specialist. They basically whacked her on the back of the head and a couple of days later, she was much better. I wouldn't recommend getting someone who isn't a professional to do it though! Good luck and I hope you feel better before your holiday!

did he prescribe antibiotics?
if not, go back and insist on it...
also, a very strong anti-histamine...
and while you're at it, otravin dosing spray for your nose...

tell him you have to be a-ok for your trip so it's time for him to bring out the big guns...

also, use the otravin on the plane...and the earplanes..

Does your GP know you are flying? If not I would go back and see them again as flying with bad ears is no fun at all.

I used to suffer with frequent ear infections but now thanks to my GP I have spray that stops them before they get a hold - I always make sure I take it with me when we go away.

Going to try to get appointment with gp tomorrow, I wear a hearing aid so spoke to audiologist at the hospital on Monday for advice she said I really should see ent if it's not getting better but it has to be the gp that refers me,
the gp did not give me antibiotics, I already take strong fexofenadine and a army's nasal spray for hay fever (not convinced that was they will help as I was taking them when it started and my hay fever was not that bad this year)
It's driving me batty I think it's gone then move too quick and have to hold on to things to stay upright, I'm an A&E nurse so moving slowly is not that easy or practical. (Not to mention the fact I look like a prat in front of family's when I lose my balance)

That sucks! Definitely get abx, it can be dangerous to fly with fluid filled ears, at the very least it's excruciating pain. I had this issue as a kid and used to cry so much during take off and landing because of my ears.

Good luck and Pixie Dust to you!

I can't help but laugh at this as I had vertigo a couple of years ago and the doctor recommend my partner throw me back towards the bed and true to his word after a few pushed attempts, the vertigo went. Strange but works.
