Short interview - good or bad?

I had an interview today and it was on the short side, IMHO. Also, I asked more questions that she did. Those aren't good things, are they? :confused3

Let's just say I wouldn't be holding my breath... It sounds like they've already interviewed the person they want and are simply finishing the "courtesy/cover out butt" interviews.

No I'm afraid that isn't good. Sorry. :(

I think it depends. Sometimes a short interview is okay- they don't have a lot of questions for you. How short was it? 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes? A long interview doesn't mean anything- I recently had a 3 hour interview that went really well- I clicked a lot with the hiring manager. I was very confident that I would get the job, but she chose someone with more experience. A long interview is usually a good sign but not always. I would go by your impression of the interview. If it seemed to go well, I would be optimistic. But, if it seemed to go badly (they were disinterested or seemed distracted) then I would be less optimistic.

I agree... you'd probably have to take into account how qualified you are for the job, and their reactions to you in the interview.

If it was short and they seemed disinterested, then I would be less hopeful. One tip I read recently (just had my first interview last week!) was that if an interview is severely tanking (and you know it), inquire as to what worries them about your qualifications or your ability to fit the job description- that way you have an opportunity to calm some of their fears and take control of the situation without that awkward silence. This is of course if the interview is definitely going bad.

There's always another job out there, if you don't get this one- goodluck on the next! :goodvibes

Well, when you ask if you'll get fruit salad, and if so, how yummy is it... :confused3

:p :jester:

(Yeah, I'm no help. Best wishes, though.)

Thanks, everyone. I think it was about 25 minutes from start to finish. My certifications are all in order and I have almost six years of experience. She was quite distracted though. Overall, I don't feel very confident about it.

Oh well.

So, should I bother to write this "thank you" note, or finish reading DaVinci Code? :rotfl2:

BTW, the fruit salad was just "yummy." Think I am going to hold out for "yummy, yummy."

Your expectations are two too low. I'd hold out for the "yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy fruit salad". Some crunchy munchy honey cakes wouldn't hurt, either. ;)

Neither. Get shaky shaky and do the monkey dance with Wags the dog until you shake your sillies out. :teeth:
