short but sweet mini gg @ JD's

ok, we are going to be stopping at JD's (Jack Daniels distillery) on our way to the fort. We plan to be there on Good Friday (april 2nd) at 9 a.m. denise said she is willing to meet up with us there, anyone else up to doing a gg tour of jd's that morning.

we will be there just before they open so, we can do the first or close to first tour of the day. then it's off to the fort.

i can't wait. this trip isn't soon enough.

We were there aboout 8 years ago. There are rv sites near the General Store in Lynchburgh. We didn't stay there just passing through. If you are a Tennessee Squire be sure to let them know. Maybe some day we will get back there.

Unfortunately, no. We don't have Good Friday as a holiday, so regular workday for me.

I'm not sure. Sabrina has never been and we have talked of coming back and taking the tour again. I'll have to see if Leonard is off. Are you sure they'll be open for tours that day? I would love to come meet everyone.

I know what you mean I am leaviing for Florida at 4am tomarrow. I'm only making a short stop at the fort to drop of some things for Hilda Then it's off to clearwater for some spring training baseball games.

I checked their website, they are open for tour business. Got to make the Whiskey !

your on. lynn and george will be traveling with us (just not in a human being sort of way). i know we haven't done dis without you guys in so long it just isn't going to be the same. hopefully we can all go again in the fall.

how about you dave? boy, the folks at jd's just don't know what they are in for. just one thing... don't give jeff any help when he asks to be pushed into a barrell of whiskey.

It is a 'dry' county, but the law has been changed to accomodate JD. They now sell bottles that have been signed by the tasters and distillers as souvenirs, but they are CRAZY expensive! Better to stop just outside the county for any whiskey for 'tippin'!
The tours run all year every day, except maybe Christmas Day? You can definitely get a tour they day you'll be there, it's great fun.
Be sure to stand real close over the fermenting vats when they let you have a sniff, be sure to hang on to your hat/wig/glasses, its potent!

elementcamper, i think you need to be sick that day . and yes, the fermenting vats is when dh just sits there smelling the whiskey. everyone else walks by and he tells the guide just keep lifting the lid.

we can't wait to see everyone. do you think we can use the golfcarts instead of walking the tour. lol
