We are currently driving to Disney! In all of my wonderful prepping I left more than half of my family 's shoes in our dryer at home!! Can anyone suggest a good place to buy some once we arrive?? I prefer cheaper because it has to come out of our vacation budget :(

walking around WDW in new shoes is going to suck!!! lol..
i would try to find a TJMAX, ROSS or Marshalls. Surely they have those out there.

I gotta ask though, Shoes in the dryer? care to explain?

dont feel bad though. our 2011 trip was over Christmas and we left warm Houston and arrived in a cold Florida and realized everyone forgot their jackets except my oldest son, he grabbed his and left the rest of the pile on the chair..lol. so we had to buy jackets for four people and we flew to WDW so no car to hit up a store.. we wound up paying a pretty penny for Disney Hoodies at the resort :(

we still wear them though so it was money well spent I guess :)

They're not cheap, but the Sketcher's Go Walk series do not require any breaking in and are super comfy. Rack Room Shoes will have them. Not sure if there's a Sketcher's outlet in Orlando? If your feet can stand it, flip-flops are cheap. You can get those at CVS or Target. Target has decent shoes. Their sneakers aren't bad. I like the Merona brand and have several pairs of their flats that are good for lots of walking.

One time I forgot socks and after getting blisters from the first day of wearing my sneakers without them, I had to scour the Magic Kingdom for socks (found some cute ones with Minnie on them!). Another time, we went up from south Florida in the fall and stupidly expected it to be as warm in Disney World as it was in Ft. Lauderdale. We all ended up having to buy sweatshirts!

Try the outlets. Sometimes you can find a really good deal in one of their stores, and they have a ton of stores. I got my dd a pair of ugg boots for $30 from there a few months ago. They were 70% off, then another 30% off of that. She didn't wear them during our trip lol, but she wore them almost every day once we got back home.

We were at Sea World SanAntonio last week and Shamu soaked us! So I washed all the shoes we were wearing that day before our trip!

That sucks! Be careful of cheap shoes though. Blisters or uncomfortable shoes could ruin the trip.

You said you left 1/2 the shoes. Does that mean half the family is barefooted or spare shoes were left behind? If it's the latter and we all had at least one pair of good comfy shoes then I would just try to make it with those. If it's the former then I would spring for decent tennis shoes for those without. Good quality tennis shoes are about the only thing I can think of that normally do not need to be broken in.

DD18 likes Toms or Sanuk yoga mats in the parks- neither cheap. DH and I have to have tennis shoes.

I would head to Academy since it seems that they usually have athletic shoes at a good price.

As long as you all have at least one pair of shoes then you shouldn't need to purchase any. I take my sneakers and my flip flops. To be honest, I wear the flops almost the entire trip. I would not want to break in new shoes at Disney.

Crocs are my favorite disney shoes-my feet never hurt in them-and they don't need any breaking in. Do they still sell the Mickey ones in disney?

Go Walks if you want sneaker style, they are comfy from the start. I wore mine once, I prefer flip flops and since there was no rain this year, my Tevas were what I wore 90% of the time.

I agree with the "Go walk" shoes...

They are very light and very soft, as long as you don't need arch support and have good feet they are excellent, also they have light breathable uppers so you feet don't get too hot.

Or Teva make great sandals wet or dry and they are strong long lasting and have no break in period at all. But they are pricey around 80 bucks..

if everyone has at least a pair of sneakers/ shoes - you might want to just get cheap flip flops for the water rides - nothing worse than wet sneakers for a week!

We had to buy hoodies for our family 5 or 6 years ago when there was a long cold spell when we were at Disney in April.

OP I would try Target for shoes.
