I have very sensitive feet and have not worn regular shoes in at least ten years. I can only wear sandles or my feet get blisters on the heels, toes, and sides and swell up like crazy. I am worried that wearing sandals to the parks might not be the best idea but I don't have many options. Any suggestions...are there any kind of sandles that don't have backs that would be better than others. Help!

Rosebud,
You may find differing opinions on this from people here. I think it's ok to were what is most comfy to you, but consider the hot pavement, lots of walking and standing. I worry about getting my toes stepped on in the crowds rushing out at closing time. With flip-flops, there may be a safety concern. But, if you you are used to sandles and don't get blisters, I think you'll be fine. Lots of people were the Tevas.

Have fun.

Hi Rosebud -

Try Merrell. I have both the Rave and the Belluna II and they are the best. I've tried Teva, but the straps give me blisters and the bumpy surface on the footbed rubs my soles raw. I have super sensitive feet. The Merrell tops are lined with neoprene and don't pinch or rub at all. The footbed is a soft suede and I get them wet on a regular basis with no problem. Rei has them on sale now.

Good luck.

Thank you for the tip...I looked at the sandals online and they look great. I was wondering though...do you know if they sell them in regular shoe stores or can you only buy them online. I would like to try them on before buying them and was hoping that I could go to a store.

I echo the Merrells! I just got my Belluna IIs and have been wearing them constantly to break them in. So far, no blisters or anything, just very comfy sandals. DD tested the wet to dry issue when she spilled her drink all over my feet!:teeth: Sandals dried out fairly quickly.
