Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Reading some reports that the Poly Island Tower rooms don't really have insulation between the rooms and you hear everything ( Seriously Disney, don't cheap out on sound insulation )

Anyone have this experience? I had this experience in BPK of GF and will never stay there again because of it

Also, these pressure toilets are so loud that they install in the new resorts, you can hear them flushed upstairs, next door etc

Thanks

That wasn't our experience. We stayed in a 1BR on the 4th floor for two nights and didn't notice any noise from adjoining units.

This also wasn't our experience. Heard no such noise from the adjoining units.

Had 2 different rooms. No issues. However one room did not have a connecting door. Requesting that might help if needed.

FWIW, the room we were in did have a connecting door. That door is located right next to the entrance from the corridor. If there was a noise from there it wouldn't be very noticeable in the unit itself.

Was just there, didn't experience any of this. Great place all around in my family's opinion.

BIL and SIL were there 2 weeks ago and did not mention any of these issues. And believe me, if there was the slightest issue/inconvenience we would have heard about it non stop. :crazy2:

Can fireworks be seen from the pool? We have our first stay at Poly in August and thought that might be a fun way to watch one night. Thanks!

We are owners at CCV and have our 2 nights prior to our Merrytime cruise booked at CCV. I just put in a waitlist for one of the new tower studios. What do you think the chances are that our waitlist is approved? This is the week before Thanksgiving. We had to change our big family vacation this July from Poly to BLT so I need me some Poly vibes!

My experience was the opposite I found it to be the quietest room I’ve stayed in and thought it had the best insulation
I agree. I just checked in today, and I've been thinking this is easily one of the quietest rooms I've had on Disney property.

My first impressions of the Island Tower are very positive so far! Granted, I was lucky enough to get a fabulous 8th floor theme park room. I know there are some huge variations in views within the theme park category, so I am grateful.

I waitlisted Poly Tower for spring break this year, and it came through at 31 days left.

This is sort of tangential to Poly resort, but I was wondering - did the big banyan tree survive its move over to near Fiji or Aotearoa?

No it is right on point for the Poly resort. If you are asking about the banyan tree over by the now gone Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. Yes, it was relocated very, very close to the Aotearoa long house back in November 2022. Last report I had was that is was alive and recovering from the move. I still think it is too close the building.

The other big banyan tree by the GCH was destroyed about 3 years ago.

Yes, that’s the one I meant. I’m glad it survived the move. Thanks!

First time I couldn’t snag a cabana for our upcoming stay. The whole week was already booked. Maybe because the new tower has opened up and more people now.
