I need recommendations for sandals for my husband - he doesn't usually wear them. However, he has had recent foot surgery and another scheduled for after our vacation. However, he has some swelling in his foot that after a long day causes a tennis shoe to be painfully tight. We were thinking that a good sandal might be an option late in the day (dinner, etc) and give his foot a break. He has no arches so support is key and something with a softer footbed as well. I see lots of recommendations for women - but none for me. So please help... we are going shopping this weekend. Thanks,

Keens. My husband used them for Disney and loved them- he was never a sandal guy before.

I am a 50 year old man and I love my Crocs at the Park . If it rains or if it is hot they still work (wear short socks). After walking all day I am fine for the next day to run again all day at the next park .:cool1: . But another thing that I have learned is to change shoes every day (or every other)to make the pain move to another part of your foot ha ha . pixiedust: :beach:

I personally like Asics Gels. Crocs are great too. I would plan an every-other-day for the parks as well... and spend some time off of his feet. Walking around in the parks after surgery will be a bear.. and not of the Pooh variety either. He might also consider a wheel chair while he is there.

Crocs Bistro style have a non-slip sole and are great for the parks. Pair them with Wrightsocks anti blister and you will be set!

My husband wears Tevas. I do also. My feet swell because I have arthritis. I like that I can adjust both the toe strap and the top of the foot strap as my feet swell and then go back down. On my old ones the heel strap was also adjustable, I can't remember if it is on my new ones or not.

After several visits wearing Crocs, my husband recently bought his first pair of Keens. Other than needing a size larger, he loved wearing them in the parks more than his Crocs.

I'm an E, so I buy men's shoes when it's for comfort. DH and I both like Columbia best - they seem to take the most abuse and last the longest.

As a guy who walks a lot in the parks, I like to wear my Croc's slides during the hot months as well as my Croc's loafers. The slides will be better for your situation based on what you stated. The Croc's will dry very quickly if they get wet and are very comfortable.

If he isn't going to get his shoes wet at all (barring unforseen rain, hey it's florida..) then a cloth covered memory foam foot bed slide like adidas, new balance, or any of the others are even more comfortable to me than my Croc's, but if they get wet the cloth covered memory foam takes a while to dry. I keep a pair of those for use around the resort if I want something slightly more formal than bare feet...
