SHIP OF FOOLS SISTERHOOD - Strong & Healthy in 2005!!!

Yeah! Sandy is joining us!

I am so excited the scale finally went the other direction. I hope it continues!

I lost 1.6 this week!!!

This week's topic was Motivation. I did stay for the meeting and will post more later. Need to rest now.

Tracy

P.S. Vision is 20/20!!!

Tracy, looking forward to your meeting notes.

Hurray for all the loosing of weight everyone, I'm particularly happy for Denine!!!!!!! Way to go Sisters!

Belated happy birthday to your dh Denine! So, what did you fix him for dinner? Did you save your points for the big dinner?!

Been PMing Tracy, and see she's been posting and having fun while resting her eyes! See Tracy, not so bad not exercising for one week, you still lost weight!

I went to Costco today and bought healthy foods, instead of some that really looked tasty! I even told dh to forget my 4 piece box of Godiva truffles that I usually request for Valentine's Day. Now, is that being good or what? (He's still going to get me some chocolate covered strawberries though, so that won't be so awfully difficult, lol!)

TGIF!!!

Barbara (PS Amanda: I used to be just like you. In fact, I was such a bean pole that I tried to gain weight! In college, I could down a whole box of ding dongs - 12 per box - at one sitting and not gain an ounce. Sigh....what happened???... Aging, aging, aging, ROFL! Anyways, the 30's are great Amanda as long as you keep exercising...don't stop for nothing! :) )

When you decided to lose weight, what was your motivation? You wanted change, you wanted control, the number on the scale drove you to it, you wanted support, you needed to get healthy (a number of ways you can define that). Now that you have been losing for some time, your goals may change. Generally though, you have become more focused.

Motivating Strategy

The theory behind motivating strategies is to imagine what things will be like when you've achieved your Winning Outcome. This will inspire you to do what you need to reach your goal.

Imagine yourself having already achieved your goal (i.e. exercising for 6 weeks, drinking 8 glasses of water for 4 weeks, losing 5 pounds, etc.). Imagine the benefits. What are you seeing, hearing, doing, wearing, etc.? When exercising for 6 weeks, you will feel more energized, more awake, stronger, more alert, etc. Imagine those feelings right now.

Get in touch with those good feelings.

Keep in touch with those good feelings as you do things to bring you closer to your goals.

Some good feelings include asserting yourself, taking care of yourself, planning tomorrow's menu, refusing a second portion, eating fruits and veggies, talking a walk, etc.

We all need to be motivated to accomplish anything in life, weight loss is no exception. Find what motivates you to accomplish your weight loss goals and you will be on your track quicker to those goals!

Barbara: I made baked gnocchi in tomato sauce, green salad, parmesan muffin puffs and a chocolate cake. 1 serving of everything was 11 points. They were all diet recipes and very yummy!

Thanks for the motivation talk. My motivations: The # on the scale, wanting to wear a bathing suit without feeling self conscious, wanting a new gown for the August cruise and not having to wear body armor under it!

Thanks for the motiviation talk, I needed it today.

I keep my motivation in sight. The dress that I want to wear on the cruise is hanging outside my closet. I see it every morning. Yesterday I tried it on and it did (for the first time in six months) zip up. :flower:

Only .5 lbs for me this week but the eliptical is working and I have lost half an inch from each thigh. I have also invested in a pedometer an working on getting my 10,000 steps in each day.

Good luck to everyone this week. Your weight loss is inspiring :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I forgot to mention, I didn't have to stop! I have cut back a bit for a couple days, but still working on my streak (every day since 1/10/05). :teeth:

Tracy

I have been bad. Two days of eating an not exercising. We had a party yesterday and today. I still didn't go over my 35 points though. Just a good thing that yesterday ended 1 week and today started another.

Good for you Tracy and Eye!

Today it is back to eating right and exercising. I really want to see a loss come Wednesday.

Tomorrow is weigh in for me. Wish me luck!

I'm not going to wish you luck Denine because you don't need luck. I have faith that you did well so I'm going to wish you well tomorrow and a loss at the scale! :cool1:

I forgot I had this little prayer to share with you all.

Womens Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my shape to keep
Please no wrinkles
Please no bags
And please lift my butt
Before it sags

Please no age spots
Please no gray
And as for my belly,
Please take it away.

Please keep me healthy
Please keep me young
And thank you Dear Lord
For all that you've done

Woo Hooo!!!!!!!!! :dancer: :dancer:

I lost 3 pounds. Notice my new clippy!

Tracy: Loved the poem!
