SHHHHH!!!!! It's A Surprise Wedding!!!

My friend who hangs out on these boards as well (FLTink) has her wedding band that is is mickey heads in diamonds.

Love that ring! You must have had it custom made...Congratulations to both of you!

So, lets begin this wonderful story with the "Family Cook-Out" the night before...And why not include the entire cast of characters in no particular order -
Me - Joel
My Wife - Kim
DS#1 - Hunter
DD#1 - Payton
DS#2 - John
My Mom - Donna
My Dad - Joel
His Wife - Sandy (Herein referred to as BRMH (I'll explain later)
DW Mom - Hahn
DW Dad - Jim
Friends - Tony
His Daughter - Lauren
Friends - Lucy
DW Sister - Elizabeth
DNiece - Kaylee

It was truly a small get-together. My in-laws live an hour from us and weren't traveling up and down the highway twice in 2 days. So they were a no go. My Dad and BRMH arrived on-time (big surprise) and the festivities begin. Needless to say my mom and his wife are NOT the best of friends, but they are cordial to one another. The sly inuendos are a riot though. I could not even being to explain all of them here, it would take weeks. We had a nice time and please be assured the alcohol was flowing freely very early on. At the risk of sounding like a true friend of Bill W, it makes dealing with my family a whole lot easier. Conversations at dinner were nothing out of the ordinary, although my dad likes to impart his dry, very dry sense of humor when he can. Most of the talk was about the kids (My Dad, Mom and BRMH hadn't seen them for some time) so there was a lot of catching up to do. The last of the guests departed my home about midnight, with the kids only lasting until about 9pm. Afterall, we were headed to "Mickey's Ship" in the morning. My DW and I finally turned out the lights about 1am and set the alarms for 6am to make sure all of the participants arrived on time.

We lied through our teeth to make sure everyone was at our house early enough for the 1 hour trek to Port Canaveral.

Next Up Day #1 Leaving, Arriving and THE SAIL AWAY!!!!

Oh Joel....

We love you... We really do...

But....

Where's the pictures of everyone at the BBQ????????????

(It was beginning to sound like one of MY family get togethers!!! (without the cruise...))

We want proof that you lied through your teeth!!! :teeth:

Ok... actually I just want more...

Please!!! :flower3:

You guys are starving for info...I guess in a way that's good, it means you're interested...So, YES, we lied through our teeth to make sure everyone arrived at our house on time to leave for Port Canaveral. We told them we were leaving at 9am SHARP...Now, with none of them having ever been on a Disney Cruise it was easy to lie and tell them that we "absolutly needed to be there no later than 10:30." Now why, do they ask silly questions like, "why so early?" Well DA (Dumb A--) beacuase you have no idea how to get there and Im leading this parade, get it? Now get in line behind me and drive...It's the long thin pedal on the right. Whew...Now that it's out of my system...

We had the kids up and ready at about 8:30, I loaded the truck, because all of the luggage had my DW married name on it, as well as FTW tags. But nonetheless, the kids were ramped up and ready to get to Mickey's Ship. I will say that my entire family, in-laws and all, were ON TIME!!!  Actually with time to spare. We got everyone settled, last minute trips to the potty and it was load up time. The kids as you can see were really ready.

So as our little caravan heads down the 408 to I-4 my DW and I notice some clouds, but not to worry, we were still in Orlando. After our brief trip down I-4 we reach the Beachline. Ah a straight shot to the port. But alas, more clouds...I am begining to see a look of worry on my DW face. What's wrong you ask? Well, all of the bags are in the back of my truck and yes there is a hard cover over them. However, it does get wet inside the bed of the truck. Why the look of worry, well perhaps it was the rain that was ahead of us and the fact that her wedding dress was in the back. All I can remember is "ok, I'm going to have a panic attack." Not too worry darling, I'm from Massachusetts, I'll just drive faster and beat the rain.:woohoo:

It all turned out just fine, we had about 15 minutes of rain and NOTHING was ruined (thank GOD)! The anxiety quickly disappeard when we saw that Big Beautiful Ship in the distance. What a site. Have we truly made it? YES, YES there it is. I think we were more excited than the kids.

Climbing the escalator after security we finally felt relaxed and at home. We were back, and this time, we had all the surprises planned. We waited a little bit before checking and saw Mickey in the lobby. The kids enjoyed their first encounter, as did all of the adults.

As I was standing to the side waiting for the rest of the family, a man walked by me like something from an old spy movie and gave me the code..."Joel" as I turned I knew who it was, MOZART!!!! He confirmed my suspicions about a second day at Castaway and greeted me with a handshake. things were comming together.

More to come....
