You guys are starving for info...I guess in a way that's good, it means you're interested...So, YES, we lied through our teeth to make sure everyone arrived at our house on time to leave for Port Canaveral. We told them we were leaving at 9am SHARP...Now, with none of them having ever been on a
Disney Cruise it was easy to lie and tell them that we "absolutly needed to be there no later than 10:30." Now why, do they ask silly questions like, "why so early?" Well DA (Dumb A--) beacuase you have no idea how to get there and Im leading this parade, get it? Now get in line behind me and drive...It's the long thin pedal on the right. Whew...Now that it's out of my system...
We had the kids up and ready at about 8:30, I loaded the truck, because all of the luggage had my DW married name on it, as well as FTW tags. But nonetheless, the kids were ramped up and ready to get to Mickey's Ship. I will say that my entire family, in-laws and all, were ON TIME!!!

Actually with time to spare. We got everyone settled, last minute trips to the potty and it was load up time. The kids as you can see were really ready.
So as our little caravan heads down the 408 to I-4 my DW and I notice some clouds, but not to worry, we were still in Orlando. After our brief trip down I-4 we reach the Beachline. Ah a straight shot to the port. But alas, more clouds...I am begining to see a look of worry on my DW face. What's wrong you ask? Well, all of the bags are in the back of my truck and yes there is a hard cover over them. However, it does get wet inside the bed of the truck. Why the look of worry, well perhaps it was the rain that was ahead of us and the fact that her wedding dress was in the back. All I can remember is "ok, I'm going to have a panic attack." Not too worry darling, I'm from Massachusetts, I'll just drive faster and beat the rain.
It all turned out just fine, we had about 15 minutes of rain and NOTHING was ruined (thank GOD)! The anxiety quickly disappeard when we saw that Big Beautiful Ship in the distance. What a site. Have we truly made it? YES, YES there it is. I think we were more excited than the kids.
Climbing the escalator after security we finally felt relaxed and at home. We were back, and this time, we had all the surprises planned. We waited a little bit before checking and saw Mickey in the lobby. The kids enjoyed their first encounter, as did all of the adults.
As I was standing to the side waiting for the rest of the family, a man walked by me like something from an old spy movie and gave me the code..."Joel" as I turned I knew who it was, MOZART!!!! He confirmed my suspicions about a second day at Castaway and greeted me with a handshake. things were comming together.
More to come....
