Melissa, I totally understand your frustration after all that planning, and hoping for perfection -- everyone keeps going back to what they know and love. My boys weren't wowed by the Poly-- YES, it was nice, but they kept saying how they love AKL CL so much more. well, sorry, we couldn't fit all of us in a AKL room, if we could have, I'd have definitely gone there. there where some ups and downs on my trip, which i think led me to questioning if I even wanted to go back again when I got home. Thankfully, that didn't last long, and DS16 has said he wants to go back again after his graduation in 2014 to show his DGF The World and Universal. So, it looks like I'll have one more trip at least. I'm already stressing on what resort to choose,

BWI DLX room is probably on the list, but I am also scouring reviews looking for ways to stay at AKL with 3 different sleeping options! It might mean staying at Kidani in a 1 BDRM , but that means NO CL

BOOOOO!!!! and no daily maid service (Kidani is DVC) -- and i love my daily mousekeeping

so I just don't know. I truly hope things look up for you this morning and your family starts to feel some WL LOVE! It's so hard when the family isn't on board, and it makes you question all those months of long planning to make it perfect....don't question yourself too hard, melissa, it's hard to get so many different tastes onto the same page! But when you do, perhaps it is best to stay with what's familiar

then at least there is one less stressor with people happy about where they are staying! If DH and kiddos love YC, I say, make that your home base for longer trips...I like your idea of trying something new for your shorter trip, if you hate it , at least you aren't there for long

hope today is much brighter and happier all around!

Have FUN!
MM: YEAH

for getting wonderful ADRS -- they look amazing. I wish I hadn't given up my yachtmans steak house ressie on my trip, I didn't get a good steak my whole trip! next time, yachtmans is a definite must do for me. Great news on scoring Be Our Guest. I am looking forward to hearing how you like it! Every one raves about Via Napoli, Andrew loves pizza, perhaps I should make that a must do next time too! I tried to make Andrew look at
DisneyLand for his grad trip in 2014, to save some money, as we are on the West Coast of Canada....but he said no way, he wants to show his DGF WDW and Universal! So it looks like saving for Florida again -- at least I have 2 yrs to do it, and they are going to contribute at least $1,000 each too, so that will help. I hope to get DH on board to come with me. My DS (Josh) who'll be 22 by then will hopefully be out on his own, or being trusted to care for the house. DH has never been to Universal, so I'd love to share that with him. We found out we really don't care for the Universal side of things -- we all love Islands of Adventure the best. That might mean shortening that part of our stay to 2 days instead of our normal 3 -- but we shall see....I do love the Universal Resort, especially HRH, have always thought about trying Portofino Bay too, but it's so far away from everything! I am so excited for you and your April trip -- you are so lucky to have young ones to share it with

our BEST trip was our first in January of 2008 -- the boys where 11 and 15, and we took DH there to share his leave block from Afghanistan. We stayed CL at AKL, and I don't know if it was the magic of having our DH/DDad home safe for his leave, or just first trip magic -- but nothing has ever lived up to that trip! We all where wishing DH didn't have to go back to Afghanistan so we could add on a few more days and stay longer!!! The memories of that trip can bring tears to my eyes, we where all just so happy. no bickering, no one knew ahead of time what the rides where about -- it was all a time to explore together. I wish every time could be so special!
