Melissa - good luck! We ended up with three trips in four months (only one to Disney). Two of the three are really at a bad time for me at work even though when I planned the dates, I picked our traditional slower time. Oh well! It's paid for now and the plane tickets are purchased. We are going! Sometimes it seems like there is never a good time to go on vacation!

On a related note, dh is SWAMPED. we did our last two trips in Nov. October is proving to be tougher for both of us but is better for the kids' school schedules. So, I told dh he doesn't have to go. I can either take one of our moms or go with the kids by myself. So with 9 days to go, would I be able to switch things on our reservation? And perhaps the bigger question, would they give me a refund if I took dh off all together? Dh says he is not staying home but I am just curious what our options would be.

MM - were you surprised by dh's response on the value? I was pretty surprised when mine told me to buy the plane tickets. I thought when he saw the prices and knew they weren't direct, he would say let's just drive and save the $$$. I guess since he is the one that does all the driving, he was all for flying!

I was surprised! DH and I have always been big fans of the values, but I guess in his old age (he turned 35 in August) he likes more creature comforts.

DH and I have been traveling to WDW together since we were 21...carefree, child free, and a lot has changed since then, and I guess we just need more.

Believe me, I told DH when we were 15/16 years old that we were going to get married, have kids and raise them in Disneyworld....wonder if he ever thinks he should have run back then...

Soooooo excited!!!!!!! My girlfriends and I just booked a two bedroom townhouse for a weekend in the mountains of North Conway, NH (also home to some fabulous outlet shopping) for the last weekend of October!!!!!

Husbands and kids are being left behind and the girls are going to have a weekend of food, fun, drinks and shopping!!!!!

Oh I am so ready to scream, yell, cry I called DH's partner today and he PROMISES that he making a final decision tomorrow and will let me know the party date (yeah I have heard that before). So after I got back from curriculum night and finally ate some dinner I told DH I wanted to go back over all our Disney dates so when I finally get the word (that I am not holding my breath for) I can go ahead and make all of our changes. Now I have gone through these dates with DH before and he ok'd all of them. Well tonight he realized that the Feb dates may conflict with his annual financial audit, really he didnt realize this before So he promises to call his auditor tomorrow and see if he can find out which week he is scheduled for.

Great, I am waiting for 2 different men to give me dates so I can book Disney, we know I am going to be waiting FOREVER

Add that to the fact that I am holed up in my room becuase MIL takes over the tv in the family room and I really dont want to be in the same room with her anyway.

Sorry for the vent, just needed to get it out!

I think I'd be very tempted to say here are the dates for my trips .... now work around them .... especially to the guy ... whoever he might be .... come on you've had plenty of time to make up your mind.

Now take this for what it's worth and remember this is coming from an old long time married women .... if DH can't give you dates really soon I'd just go without him! My DH told me once that he didn't want to go to WDW as much as I do so ................ we all know how often I go without him!!! He now asks if he can go on my trips!!! And sometimes I say yes and sometimes it's no.

Basketlacey I can’t imagine you would have a problem changing your reservations at Disney to a different person, but I think you may lose some money trying to take him off since you are closer than 45 days in (you did a package, right?) Most airlines charge a fee to change the name on a ticket if they will even do it. I hope DH just goes with you, but it couldn’t hurt to call WDW the airline and see what your options and costs are. Good luck!!!

Candace I am hooked on deluxes now! DH didn’t seem to care either way, but I totally utilized my balcony and I think the overall feel is just far superior. And you are going to spend your money somewhere, why not make Disney as magical as possible Oh and have a blast in North Conway, lucky girl! P.S. I did not have a bottle of wine with me last night, but I did bring up an nice vodka & tonic and even came downstairs to refill it

Linda unfortunately the bday party is for DH’s business partner’s wife, it is a MUST DO, so I am stuck waiting to find out when As for DH, we will work around it, I can't do WDW with my kiddos without him, and as the CFO of the company he kinda needs to be there for the financial audit

Well I have officially changed Oct to WL (even though I may need to change the date). I told the CM I wanted to make a second reservation for an alternate weekend and she wouldn’t do it She said unless I was really coming both weekends she could not book them. Umm, as a room only reservation I have a 5 day cancellation policy, I don’t understand why she wouldn’t just book it for it me knowing I can just get online and book it myself. And of course the reservation system has been down online all morning

First day all week I haven't had to run around or clean, and MIL is napping on the couch, so all is well

Melissa, That's crazy...sometimes I think people just enjoy making things complicated for others! I would just get online and book it yourself, or call back right away and get another CM to book it for you if the first one was being unhelpful....... they can't deny a booking at a different time frame!! Just find someone more eager to help you

MM: too cute that you and DH have been together since 15/16, that's special! My DS 16 has been with his DGF for 2 yrs this December....and sometimes I wonder if she'll end up being my DIL one day! -- Hopefully that's one day waaaayyyy in the future though, as DS/ and DSGF really both need to mature a lot more!!! it's still sweet that you've been together that long though! My ex-soldier/ DH and I have been together since I was 19/ just turning 20.....he's my best friend and main squeeze and I was blessed to have met him.....there's some great army guys out there, and it sounds like we both lucked out with 2 of the best!!!
Speaking of which, my honey comes home TOMORROW!!! been wanting to say that for 2 weeks now!

I can hardly believe I only have 6 days to D Day!!!!! I just changed my last Disney DHS day (Wed Oct 3) dinner from Kona to Captain's grill because I have my RCer gals to meet at Beaches and Cream at 8:30....It'll be easier to get to dinner from DHS, then over to B&C for our meet from the Captains Grille than trying to get back from the POLY....that would be alot of wasted time.....so, it's a new restuarant with a fairly extensive menu that I think we can all find something we will like!! Looking forward to saying HI to Gwynne and Lacey !

Well, I am back at work today. Gallbladder seems a little settled. I sure hope it doesn't decide to act up on me in Disney!!! Fingers crossed for good weather and good times to report to y'all!!! and YAY....it's my last work day for 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!!!

Marie Please take care! I had a gallbladder attack in high school, but we've been getting along pretty well ever since. It was God awful though. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It was definitely worse than labor!

Sarah and Miss: I can't put our picture up yet...it is still on DH's other camera! But I have to say it was so nice to meet and hug you two! My girls thought you were both so so nice, DD3 took quite a shining to you Sarah... And Miss my DD's were asking if they could have a playdate with your DD! They just loved her. Anytime you ever come to Canada...call me girl!!

I would love to meet more RCers in the future...it was awesome!
