I will be at the CR 12/1 - 12/3....figure get to see all the holiday decorations, but beat the holiday crowds! My absolute favorite sight is the castle dripping in lights....so breath taking! Disney truly becomes even more magincal at Christmas time pixiedust: TAKE THE TRIP!!!!!

Melissa

I shouldn't question DH if he is offering a trip to WDW....;)

Free cocoa & sugar cookies....can't be beat.....pixiedust:

I'm looking at airfare...it's not bad at all that week :scratchin

So I am missing Disney already.

On the drive home in the van from Buffalo (about 1 1/2 hrs) we had some music on. Not sad music, rock actually, and I looked in the rear view mirror. My DD6 was sitting in the back row of the mini van by herself with one big tear on her cheek. I asked her what was wrong, concerned of course that something had happened or she hurt herself. She burst into tears then and said "I miss Disney.:

DH right then said "Don't worry we are going back" to her. And even though we had our rough moments on this trip, nothing can ever replace our memories. Like the older two getting the giggles every night after their little sister fell asleep in the daybed, laughing and hugging under the covers. And how proud they were of their little sister when she turned around to look at herself in the mirror at BBB.

I will start planning soon. I really believe what Melissa said too about life being short. You just never know what is coming up around the bend. One thing we must know is that Disney is coming up around the bend again though!::yes::

OMG...ladies :grouphug: I am in tears...

I want to plan this quick trip.......and maybe I can even do a surprise...a true...pick them up from school and drive to the airport....

DS11 is turning into quite the preteen...I want my babies all together...and selfishly , I want to go to the Christmas Party :hyper:

Jen The girls want to go next August...they told me.....haha

I highly recommend the surprise. :goodvibes I am glad we pulled it off at least once for them. I have to say though it did take about 2 days for it to finally sink in for them. It was all very surreal. And now we are home. :rolleyes2

Jen DS woke up crying on Monday morning so upset he didn't want to go home, we had to keep reminding him that we would be back next month. He does this every vacation we take though and DH and I talked about trying to work on that with him. So cute that your DD's were so sweet with each other, I wish mine would cuddle and hug, instead that just hit each other :rolleyes2

DH and I both believe it is better to make memories now instead of trying to put all the money in the bank for a day that may never come. I know it sounds so horrible, and of course no one wants to think about it, but it is life. And not even all the sad depressing stuff, just the sheer fact that the kids grow up so fast!!! My oldest will be 20 in Jan :faint:....I cant even begin to tell you where the time has gone. I look at the younger ones and can believe they are 7 and 9 already, I feel like they were babies just yesterday!

Okay on a happy note, I made all my ADR's for Oct and planned out my days to everyones liking....I can breathe again! I swear if the bday party gets moved to Oct I AM NOT GOING :rotfl2:

Good night ladies :grouphug:

Trust me there was plenty of hitting going on too!! :faint: Remember those rough patches I talked about??? Yeeahh...:rolleyes2

A Disney trip is like giving birth though...those bad moments are fading quickly!! Thank goodness no one takes pictures of fist fights!! :3dglasses

Jen, that surprise would be so amazing!

Melissa, your advice really helps--perfect combination of understanding and practical tips. My mom has had this rare blood disease 3 times as well, as far as going in and out of remission. Each time it seems impossible and she has beaten it, but it's very scary. Right now, she is out of remission but can travel.

We could save quite a bit by switching to a moderate and still staying on one of the dining plans, and I am going to run numbers this week for the Swan and meals oop. In a way, this makes me wish I had just reserved POFQ to start with, because now it is out of FD and the room only code isn't a signif. savings for us. Also, DH has a company meeting Tues. to find out if there will be any severance package, how many days are hopefully left for work there, etc. So I am just going to gather info until then and make a decision next week. After that, my mom has two surgeries, so this kind of trip is always subject to change but hopefully we will get there one way or another!

Thanks, everyone!

Oh Jen! I woke up to this and I am totally crying right now. I was having a big PDD moment yesterday because I made the mistake of you tubing the hallowishes....I was a mess, literally crying...to the point that DH started looking up airfare to get me down there to see it in person:sad::lmao:

Yeah I was laughing and crying at the same time. Disney has such a hold over me and its hard to explain it, but you guys understand.

DD5 woke up this morning wanting to watch the planning DVD....speaking of which, I should be able to get 2013 now, huh?:scratchin

Hello everyone. It has been so long since I have been able to post. I went from vacation paradise complete with magical upgrades, to setting up my classroom, meetings, and school in a matter of days...... WHEW!

Around Thursday I began not feeling well and here it is Sunday and the Doctor says that I have a combo of strep/bronchitis. Fortunately, I got an antibiotic Saturday morning and I' am feeling a little better this morning. So, what do I do? I jump on DIS to catch up with my RC sisters. I have not started my trip report because.....check above...

Anywhooo, I just wanted to post a few pictures of suite 3209 Yacht club. I didn't want to post the number while we were there but now I can. I am not sure what the name of the suite is because it is not mentioned on the YC thread.

Here are a few pictures:

This is the room that you step into if you enter the room at the double door entrance.

The coffee/snack area. The main fridge, oddly, was over to the right a little and it was larger than the standard room fridge but it was not full sized fridge. I say "main" fridge because we had a total of 4 fridges in the suite, one in each of the bed rooms, one in the kitchenette area and one under where the television was housed in the main living area.

More photos to come.

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend! This time next Sunday, I will be on a plane!!!

Jsantini - welcome and so very sorry about dh's job! I would definitely price POR. we loved that resort and it is very peaceful! Since you booked under FD, you should get to keep it if you change. As long as rooms are available that is!

Pas - you should definitely go for Christmas if you can budget it! Everything is so magical when decorated for the holidays! Book your airfare now if it looks good. Don't do what I did and wait until its crazy!

Jenny and step - welcome home to both of you! Jenny - love the pics of you and the girls at the Poly! Too cute. I am already worried about WDW sadness and we haven't even gone yet lol.

Melissa - congrats on getting your plans in place. How close are you? I am jealous that you can get there for weekends! I would love that. Dh actually even mentioned APs this time. Said he was talking to someone who said that's what they did and then they scheduled their trips less than 1 year apart. Well duh honey! That's what I tried to tell you last November and you wouldn't hear of it! We are doing an adult trip next October but I don't think the APs will work. I think we will miss it by about a week.

MM. - I haven't seen the Halloween parade yet. I can't wait. I hear it is fabulous! Your hubby is so sweet that he was going to fly you down to watch it!

Your trip is soooo close!!! Yay for you!!:cool1::banana:pixiedust:

MM and Jenny  you brought teats to my eyes too, because I completely understand how Disney brings the family close, there's just something magical about stepping into that special world from the outside and sharing memories with those we love! More pictures to put into our memory box and hold close to heart! I can't believe my baby boy is 20  how time flew! I am going to cherish this last trip with him because it's the one place I know we will all be able to let go and share carefree moments together.....I may get extras of those hugs that sometimes come a little less often now! :crazy2:
I can't believe leave in only 4 more days!!!! TRIP SLOW DOWN, I don't want PDD  thank goodness Disney is always there for us!!! It may be longer before I get back again this time.....but I WILL get back! :goodvibes

Jeanette, thanks for the diet advice! It's so hard in Disney to stay away from the good food.....but I will try hard. I don't want another attack, and I also want to keep weight gain in check....,so I think it'll be lighter lunch choices for me.....for example, the other day in the airport, I was waiting For DH, and I decided to eat dinner.....I had a hamburger, but instead of the fried onion rings or fries, I asked for salad instead.....the burger was quite filling and I ended up not missing the greasy sides! So that's a tip I'll be taking to Disney with me :)

I keep looking at the extended forecast, and it shows Oct 1 (my discovery cove day) as cloudy and rainy, where Oct 2 is supposed to be 92 deg! I tried getting a Teppan Edo dinner for around 7, but Nothing's available.
I was thinking of paying the $50 to change my date to Oct 2, but it's not working for me. I really hope the weather cooperates for us!, I'd like to be at DC on a hot day!

I'm slowly getting my packing accomplished....I don't have any rotten weather clothes, so praying it all works out to be sunny skies!!! :beach:

Jsantini: I'm so sorry to hear about DHs job! I hope things turn around quickly for you. I agree, keeping your trip, but trying to downsize it a little sounds like it could offer you the strength to face what lies ahead. Making memories and family time is just as important to our well being, I hope you can share this time with your mom!

Happy Sunday my friends!

Marie

Not the resorts....just the configuration. I currently have a 5/5 split but if you'll recall the trip started with Poly CL for 8 nights before we added 2 more nights to the trip. Should I stick with 5/5 or lengthen our Poly time??? What would you do? Leave it or extend one side or another?

We are doing 3 nights, one night Christmas Party & Wishes Dessert Party....this maybe overkill :bitelip: But we will have a table for Xmas wishes....we are staying in a Cars suite at AoA (I had to book a LM room since we are a family of 7....so shhhhhh don't tell, the CM on the phone said once we're there no one checks up on the sleeping arrangements :duck:)

I changed three times yesterday...Poly, BC, then AoA....then for DS11 & I in Jan I switched to Pop, and had the refund applied to November...I now am Paid in Full :cool1:

GF Garden View is available still....and DH is talking about staying home with the puppy and DS3...but I'd rather have ALL of us there....:( MIL is in Canada on vacation, so we'll see if she can puppy sit before I change anything (and I booked changable flights for DH & DS3...just in case ;)

Jeanette your plans sound Great!!! What are your dates?

Good morning ladies! :goodvibes

Back late last night. :coffee: Hoping the kiddo survives her day back at school after such little sleep -- though she did sleep on the plane. Made for a nice, quiet flight home. :rolleyes1

My apologies for not checking in again. It was indeed a whirlwind trip! It was absolutely fabulous meeting Sarah and Jen. :grouphug: Miss M kept asking if we'd see everyone again when we were rushing about to parties and to-and-fro the pool. She loved speaking to you, Sarah -- and just adored sitting down with your gorgeous DDs, Jen. She could have sat there all night! We've got such a great bunch o' gals here, really and truly. It was a total pleasure to have met you both. :goodvibes

I'll try and get some piccies together to share and write up a little review when the coffee's kicked in. :faint:

Glad you made it back safely!!!! For our April trip, our flight doesn't land in Boston until 12:22 am!!!! And that's still an hour from home, so I don't anticipate us getting home until about 2 am on that Monday morning, and the girls will have to go to school....:crazy2:

I am hoping they will just sleep on the plane, since our flight doesn't take off until 9:30 pm that night, and then sleep on the ride home...It's gonna be rough!

Marie I'll let you in on a little secret .... if you are really close to your kiddos then when they move out of the house all that doesn't stop. I still vacation with my kids .... the big difference now is they pay their own way!!! :rotfl2:
