Can I join you I have skimmed some of the pages, but wow, you are chatty I am new to the boards, but not new to Disney. As DH says I have OCD when it comes to our travel plans and I research every single thing. Disney has been a quick weekend trip since I moved to South Florida, and an afternoon trip when I lived outside of Orlando. Not since I was a kid living in New England was Disney really a vacation. We have decided to not take a big vacation and put more into the Disney "Experience". I have 3 kiddos, DS(19) (who rarely travels with us), DS(9) and DD(7).

I was when I realized what your thread was about and knew this is where I needed to be, especially after spending hours on the phone with reservations, changing dates and resorts, and don't even get me started on the ADR's

Currently I am booked for:
Sept 15-17 at YC (GV)
Oct 19-21 at YC (GV)
Jan 5-7 at POR (Royal Room for DD)
Feb 2-6 at L (bunk beds for DS and DD)

My only trip I am not second guessing is Sept at the YC, Oct is a go as long as the YC gets discounted, if not I refuse to pay rack rates.

I am concerned about POR, which we have stayed at before, but after YC I am afraid to be so disappointed with a moderate.

WL also has me a little "concerned". We stayed there when the kids were little and loved the feel of the resort, but will there be enough for us to do the first week of Feb.

For all the resort changers out there, help me feel more confident in my choices

Just to allay your WL fears, there is plenty to do. What I love about its location is that you are just a quick boat or bus ride away from the MK and 3 other resorts and you have another resort right next door that you can boat or walk right to. FW has horseback riding (we loved doing this on Christmas day) and pony rides, stables, petting zoo, canoeing, fishing, trails, archery, two restaurants, Mickey's Backyard BBQ... Just looking at all the decorated RVs is fun!

WL has two hot tubs, activities for the kids in the afternoon at the Cub's Den, free movies on the beach and a free marshmallow roast at night. The EWP comes by nightly at 9:35. I think your kids would love the Cub's Den and there's an arcade right across from it. They have fun pool activities for the kids - The marina offers many activities and there are bike and surrey rentals and a wonderful health club that offers massages/facials. There are two restaurants and a QS right in the bldg. so no need to venture outside to eat when it's raining

THANKS PAS! I'm scared now!!! you all loving the WL and talk of shabby POLY!!! I think it's too late to change even if I wanted to because I don't think I could get my FD discount on a WL Deluxe room......I technically have 1 more day to change, because I am LEAVING in 45 days......checkin is 46 days! Ugh....I hope I don't regret the POLY, it's down to the wire now, and I'm getting cold feet!!!!

You will LOVE it!!!! We preferred woodsy over tropical....it is a beautiful resort!!!!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Wl. I'll admit I'm not looking forward to it at all, and either are my kids or dh. I would switch to the Poly in a heartbeat if I could. If I end up liking the Wl I think you and MM should give Poly a try. You really never know until you try something. Split stays are awesome for that.

We only stayed one night last year, and it was nice....but a few hiccups (stole that saying...I like it...lol) for the price of Poly, I am more likely to choose GF though. The Poly Punch is delish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes, the OFC trance - perfect, pas!. This happens to DH as soon as he walks in the WL lobby (but, not at 2 AM) and follows Ranger (Jack) to the golden elevators that magically transport him to the 7th floor where he becomes an OFC denizen. What does he do while I check in? He heads straight to the lounge with DD for his "pre-breakfast breakfast." This is what comes before our TS breakfast that we do on arrival day. This must be the trance that I think we're all in, (I'm in the middle)

DH and I had such a nice time just chatting with all those wonderful CMs!!!!

I will say...if, we get closer to our trip date, and the Hawaii building has been redone (and I like the design), and it's available...I may try a 4/4 split...or maybe 6/2 (last two nights being Poly)...food for thought...

Marie I don't think you should worry about the Poly. Dani is there and loving it! Every time I'm on the Poly thread seems that they all love it!!! No matter what you are going to have a wonderful vacation!!!

I think you should split even if it's not Poly. GF? AK? It's so much fun to try out the different resorts. I can't say I have disliked any of them. I'm sure I'll like Wl Cl. I just wish it had the Poly punch.

Seriously I will come to Canada and beat some sense into you. You are going to LOVE it. We are having the BEST time. Everything has been fabulous. I'm going to speak to the manager tomorrow about how perfect everything has been.

Marie, you don't want to change! You want to stay at POLY, you know it! I think that if you are enticed by the pics of Poly, than you will probably like it!! I think it looks just like in the pics...my problem is, I don't really like the pics...and I went there to see if it was one of those "pics don't do it justice" things, like maybe I'd fall in love with it when on property....but we just didn't...none of us...again, not every resort is for everybody...but you think the Poly is beautiful, so you will do just fine and probably LOVE it!!!

MMWe visited the Poly years ago when we went to the Ahloha Dinner I feel in love immediately Bob did not like it at all His all time favorite was WL, he liked WL even more than YC and we were upgraded to CL @ YC

I wanted to stay at BW since it was built. We visited but Bob felt it would be too noisy there in the evenings but he gave in and fell on love with the BW 110% so you just really do not know until you stay someplace.

So Sheila, I was saving this for my TR...but I will bring it up here....

Each visit to the parks, after riding the rides, DH and I would get a second Fastpass. Epcot we got Soarin', MK we got BTMRR....

With the kids we always release the balloons for our RC Angels

DH and I decided this trip, we would gift the FP....

We were eating in MK Bakery, and a woman asked about my dessert.Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich...YUM. It was a couple, most likely late 50s, very sweet from Australia....I asked by the way, are the two of you going on BTMRR? The Gentleman replied, hopefully. I placed the FP on the table and said, please enjoy the ride and have a Magical vacation.

After a moment, he walked up to our table and said, "We come here all the time after losing our son, and I always give away our Fastpasses, no one has ever returned the favor" So all I could say was "I am so sorry" and all he could say was "Thank you"

The reason I am telling you this Sheila (and Christine & Dani) is that our RC Angels are forever with us

I had to stop reading reports on the BC/YC renovations, folks hogging the pool chairs, toilets breaking, etc. I wanted to switch to Boardwalk last week because I was getting scared..... Just tell yourself that you are going to have a blast. If it makes you feel better, call and check availability at WL. I think you will love Poly.

MMWe visited the Poly years ago when we went to the Ahloha Dinner I feel in love immediately Bob did not like it at all His all time favorite was WL, he liked WL even more than YC and we were upgraded to CL @ YC

I wanted to stay at BW since it was built. We visited but Bob felt it would be too noisy there in the evenings but he gave in and fell on love with the BW 110% so you just really do not know until you stay someplace.

I'm sorry you're feeling down. You have been through a lot of emotional trauma in the past few years and I absolutely think that you are a remarkable woman and dealing with all of this with grace, and positive attitude. No one should have to go through what you are dealing with ~ you are entitled to vent anytime you feel neccessary.

And, I know what you mean about just trying it (the Poly). As you know, there is a good period of time between now and April, so you know....you never know where I'll end up.

The kids were barking at me about WL again this morning.

Jeanette, as I sit here at work I have tears in my eyes ... We never know how much we can touch others with our simple words and actions ... so beautiful and totally fitting with who you are

Wanted to add you are all remarkable, strong women and I'm thankful for you in my life, and thankful for all our RC circle of friends.

Ok, so I am kinda freaking out. I have to change my dates because we just got the football schedule. My BC room isn't available! YC is available though. What are the differences? Is it no big deal? I went back and looked at Poly again but the room that is available is quite a bit more again!
