Jeanette!!!. So glad you loved the WL!!! It truly is a wonderful resort!!! ::yes::

I know what your DH feels about the Poly...last month was the first time I had set foot on Poly property since 1985...and honestly, it felt....exactly.the.same. :rotfl2:

The furnishings in the general area were, well....shabby :duck:

I do not mean to speak badly about the Poly, but I just don't think it's our thing...I think the "theming" must go over our heads or something. Obviously, we've switched from the Poly to BWI, and I don't know what it is but when I book Poly I get a pit in the bottom of my stomach...it's all about personal preference though...many people feel the same about our beloved WL!!

DH really (surprisingly) like the GF and wants to stay there, but the construction is HIDEOUS!!! I was feeling really bad for people who were paying to stay there right now...I think once it's all done, we may give it a shot...but when we did our tours of YC/BC/BWI, DH felt that BWI was most like GF and took a liking to it. It is very much our taste, so despite the clown pool, we are giving it a shot. (I'm the only one afraid of clowns) :scared1:

I'll be there but in a studio for 4 nights in Oct! I stayed there one other time also in a studio but it was only for one night before moving to BCV. The only bad thing was getting something quick to eat in the morning or refilling my mug but since you are staying CL that won't be a problem for you. :thumbsup2

....and my DH has banned the purchase of anymore mugs....we have 18 mugs in our house :scared1:

4 for each of us the last 3 trips, and then the other 6 are from DH and my trips together before kids....:rotfl2:

I'm only allowed to get another mug if the go back to resort specific...otherwise, it's a no go. It's another reason he doesn't want the DDP this trip, he doesn't want another stinkin' mug! :lmao:

I know what you mean .... I finally gave most of mine away! Neighborhood kids loved them! :thumbsup2

Welcome Home .... we missed you!!! Yay!!! Another WL convert!!! :cool1:
 Missed my RC family too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pas: Wow! :faint: That's quite the endorsement! Hmmm. If we ever stay over in a MK resort in the near-ish future, I think WL will have to be a contender, with so many of you singing the praises of WL. I'm so glad you were able to stay in your room! Uh-oh, deprogramming? This sounds like exactly what happened after our house guest left (I'm still trying to recover mentally.) Speaking of contenders...
Yep, spoiled rotten kiddos....all good though. I escaped to work tonight..I have to go back and catch up now...what happened to poor Marie:(

:

Pas: So glad you had a great trip! It sounds like we need to check out the WL!! First Candace and now you make it sound so magical! :wizard:
30 days!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure camp was great!!!

WL is dreamy :lovestruc

Pas Welcome home! I'm glad your trip was everything you hoped for and more. WL vs RPC for the next trip or maybe both?
My next trip will be WL CL...no question...or AoA....or a split :goodvibes

I think you know just how we feel now::yes::

:welcome: back to your HOME:grouphug:
Absolutely!!!!!!!!! Did I thank you a million times yet :worship:

You switched from Poly  to BWI...WOW that is a SHOCKER..I agree if you like the GF, BWI decor has a similar "feel" but it's not a big white castle....ahhhhh when the GF construction is done.....maybe....;)

:lmao:

I have a change to report! I can't convince anyone at all to come with me on the cruise next year....so instead we are coming back to the Poly! And since my mom can't get enough of this place I think it's going to be 14 nights next year. She already tried to extend our trip another 3 nights.
:rotfl: Nice!!!!!!!!

I'll have to go and catch up! I've been so busy with this car issue that I haven't had much time for the computer except to research vehicles! :rotfl: I thought you'd like to know:

VERDICT: ok, we ended up being about $7,000 negative due to the FORD ESCSPE balloon loan mistake. there won't be reprieve from payments, the new vehicle will start as soon as we sign and pick up the vehicle next week.....BUT, I decided when all was said and done to go with the SUBARU Forrester.:dance3: I know the HYUNDAI had lots of bling, and protection to the hilt with windshield, paint, undercoating , 3 m protections.....but when you look at the fine print financing, I end up paying for the stuff anyway with an "accessory" charge of $5,000
So, I decided ultimately, the Subaru is more reliable, I'll feel safer in the winter driving, AWD is not beat in Subaru, and although it lacks the bling, it has some nice features....I went with the touring pckg, mid line.....it has a nice panoramic sunroof, heated front seats Bluetooth. It is very nice looking, but a bit sparser and more basic than the Hyundai. Being a lady, it fits me really nicely, it handles like it's stuck to the road....very nice! I feel like I have made a solid purchase....albeit, an expensive mistake with our ford, but we now know to scrutinize deals very closely. The fact that you can hardly find older Subarus speaks to the reliability of this vehicle!! Finally I get to say I'm part of the SUBBY Family!
I hope I don't get buyers remorse, but I have a feeling that WON'T happen!
ETA: the overall financed amount for the Subaru was less than they where going to charge for the Hyundai, so that was a plus.....I ended up paying $29,140 for my forrester.....with my 7k negative equity, I DO end up financing about $36k....but Hyundai wanted to finance over $40k....so I was better of with the Subaru deal! hopefully I'll have my new baby next week sometime!

PAS: welcome home!!! Glad to hear you loved WL.....y'all are making me want to stay there! But.....I WILL NOT CHANGE!!!!! ACTUALLY, I just realized, I CAN'T!!!! :dance3: IT'S MY 45 day mark today!!!!!:dance3:
So, I'll take the chance and hope the POLY has me loving it too :goodvibes Sad to hear your Sept trip is off :( but glad you'll be getting back again soon!!!

Marie ~ wow! Sorry about the car situation! Sounds like the dealer totally hosed you and sold you the most expensive Ford Escape ever!!! (unless they just cost more in Canada)

Between the Subaru and Hyundai, I would choose the Subaru. Hyundai has come a long way in their product, and they have a lot to offer for often really great prices, but their resale values are not good at all. The value depreciates a ton just driving it off the lot. :headache:

Hi Candace! Yes, vehicles in Canada cost ALOT more!!!! You guys can buy the same thing as I did about 10K cheaper!!!! crazy, HUH! I think I'll love my subbie though :p

Ugh Marie, sorry about your car...we have had a situation like that in the past. I think you made a good choice...

BTW parasailing looks AMAZING! And DH was saying how safe it really is! You will LOVE it!

I thought that DH would have me change to the Poly after visiting there, but he did a complete 180 :confused3 He is in a OFC trance ;) He only has eyes for WL now :flower3:

45 days Marie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS PAS! I'm scared now!!! you all loving the WL and talk of shabby POLY!!! I think it's too late to change even if I wanted to because I don't think I could get my FD discount on a WL Deluxe room......I technically have 1 more day to change, because I am LEAVING in 45 days......checkin is 46 days! Ugh....I hope I don't regret the POLY, it's down to the wire now, and I'm getting cold feet!!!! :crazy2:

Marie, you don't want to change! You want to stay at POLY, you know it! I think that if you are enticed by the pics of Poly, than you will probably like it!! I think it looks just like in the pics...my problem is, I don't really like the pics...and I went there to see if it was one of those "pics don't do it justice" things, like maybe I'd fall in love with it when on property....but we just didn't...none of us...again, not every resort is for everybody...but you think the Poly is beautiful, so you will do just fine and probably LOVE it!!! :cheer2:

45 days Marie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Wl. I'll admit I'm not looking forward to it at all, and either are my kids or dh. I would switch to the Poly in a heartbeat if I could. If I end up liking the Wl I think you and MM should give Poly a try. You really never know until you try something. Split stays are awesome for that.

Marie I'm glad you fixed your car situation. I didn't mean to sound so harsh about car salesmans, but I just spent four grueling days negotiating with them. I hope I don't have to go through that again for at least 10 years. There are lots of RC'rs that love the Poly. Dani, me ,Luv ,Jenny, I heart, Sjs,Pixarmom. Think positive thoughts.

Ah yes, the OFC trance - perfect, pas!:rotfl2:. This happens to DH as soon as he walks in the WL lobby (but, not at 2 AM;)) and follows Ranger (Jack) to the golden elevators that magically transport him to the 7th floor where he becomes an OFC denizen. What does he do while I check in? He heads straight to the lounge with DD for his "pre-breakfast breakfast." This is what comes before our TS breakfast that we do on arrival day. This must be the trance that I think we're all in, (I'm in the middle):crowded:

I will say...if, we get closer to our trip date, and the Hawaii building has been redone (and I like the design), and it's available...I may try a 4/4 split...or maybe 6/2 (last two nights being Poly)...food for thought... :scratchin

Marie I don't think you should worry about the Poly. Dani is there and loving it! Every time I'm on the Poly thread seems that they all love it!!! No matter what you are going to have a wonderful vacation!!! :cool1:

OH Padawans!!! I sooooo know what you mean! I just went through 3 days of negotiating, and this was KNOWING the two models I was choosing between!!! :crazy2: DH REFUSED to come for negotiations, he HATES it with a passion, he just said pick and I'll come sign the papers!!! :p
OK...I picked, :rotfl:
It is seriously a PITA though!!!! I HATE IT TOO!!!!! Thankfully my last Subbie Dealer I went with was very polite and forthcoming, by then I knew what I wanted and he went to work getting me my :drive: I think I'll like being part of the SUBBIE family! :)

Can I join you :wave2: I have skimmed some of the pages, but wow, you are chatty ;) I am new to the boards, but not new to Disney. As DH says I have OCD when it comes to our travel plans and I research every single thing. Disney has been a quick weekend trip since I moved to South Florida, and an afternoon trip when I lived outside of Orlando. Not since I was a kid living in New England was Disney really a vacation. We have decided to not take a big vacation and put more into the Disney "Experience". I have 3 kiddos, DS(19) (who rarely travels with us), DS(9) and DD(7).

I was :rotfl2: when I realized what your thread was about and knew this is where I needed to be, especially after spending hours on the phone with reservations, changing dates and resorts, and don't even get me started on the ADR's

Currently I am booked for:
Sept 15-17 at YC (GV)
Oct 19-21 at YC (GV)
Jan 5-7 at POR (Royal Room for DD)
Feb 2-6 at L (bunk beds for DS and DD)

My only trip I am not second guessing is Sept at the YC, Oct is a go as long as the YC gets discounted, if not I refuse to pay rack rates.

I am concerned about POR, which we have stayed at before, but after YC I am afraid to be so disappointed with a moderate.

WL also has me a little "concerned". We stayed there when the kids were little and loved the feel of the resort, but will there be enough for us to do the first week of Feb.

For all the resort changers out there, help me feel more confident in my choices :goodvibes

:welcome:

We are a very chatty family over here! :goodvibes

You have one thing going for you....your ability to go so often! I think the YC looks beautiful, and would like to try it when my kiddos are older (and better swimmers).

As far as being disappointed with POR after staying YC...I can only say this...we were a value resort family, other than one stay at CBR (which we didn't like)...then last month we stayed WL CL....it was absolutely wonderful!!! We almost don't want to stay anywhere else, but now we have the deluxe resort bug and want to try more, so we are booked at BWI for April (changed from BC-->YC GV --> Poly) :p. Mind you, all those changes have occurred in a week.

That being said, POR RGR's look wonderful, and once we are ready to jump back to a moderate, that's likely going to be the one! :thumbsup2

Welcome. I'm guessing you have annual passes. It must be nice living in Fl and getting to make all those short trips. We have Ap's, but we live in AZ so we normally make 3 long trips 10+ days. Your choices look good. I love YC. I have never stayed in a mod so I can't comment on that. As for Wl I think its a nice winter resort. I do know what you mean about having enough to do. I prefer the Epcot resorts for that reason. You have so many trips planned I think it's good to change it up.

I will say...if, we get closer to our trip date, and the Hawaii building has been redone (and I like the design), and it's available...I may try a 4/4 split...or maybe 6/2 (last two nights being Poly)...food for thought... :scratchin

I think you should split even if it's not Poly. GF? AK? It's so much fun to try out the different resorts. I can't say I have disliked any of them. I'm sure I'll like Wl Cl. I just wish it had the Poly punch.

THANKS PAS! I'm scared now!!! you all loving the WL and talk of shabby POLY!!! DO. NOT. CHANGE.

Seriously I will come to Canada and beat some sense into you. You are going to LOVE it. We are having the BEST time. Everything has been fabulous. I'm going to speak to the manager tomorrow about how perfect everything has been.
