Good Morning!

HELP!

Can anyone tell me about the Sheraton Safari?

I have tentatively booked there for 12/30 - 12/31. I have been trying to find a place that would be close to WDW, with queen beds, that isn't going to break the bank. I am trying to watch the $$ (this part of the trip is an add-on) but I'm worried about getting a dump. I have read such varying reports...I'm just not sure what to believe.

We plan on resort hopping to enjoy the decorations and then we will check in at POR on 1/1/11.

Thanks so much!
Darlene

It's been probably 5 years since we stayed there but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We had a great room with a view of Illuminations (that was a nice surprise) from our bed. If it's just for one night, I'd definitely stay there.

I've heard mostly good things about this place, and the price is usually good too. I think they have some suite type rooms, and the first floor rooms open to the outside, so if you can secure a better room you'll be great. The pool looks so cute too, but in December it can be hot or cold cold cold!!

I think you'll be fine. Just check out your room when you first get there, and if there are any issues, ask to change right away. I've found Sheraton hotels to be great at trying to make sure you have a good stay (we stay at the Swan and Dolphin a lot, but for your dates it's over $300 a night).

Anyone been here recently? Just booked with priceline for 40$ for the weekend before our week at disney. It was a bid so didnt know what it was until it was booked. I hope itsdecent! How close is it to dtd? Tia!!!!

We are staying at the Safari tomorrow night. It took forever on priceline to find anything in the DTD area that would be accepted. I got the Safari for $70. I think that's pretty steep, but it is the Saturday of July 4th weekend. I'll let you all know how it is once we return. I keep telling myself it will be fine for one night. We decided we wanted to go on down a day early to try and beat the July 4th traffic. On the third we move over to Pop for two nights and then on to Kidani for the next 7, so I'm thinking I can handle one night at the Safari. I still think it's too high, but what do do?? :confused3

It has been 6 years since we stayed at the Sheraton Safari, but based on our experience I would not hesitate to stay there again. The room was very nice and clean with a small balcony. Pool area was very nice and my daughter enjoyed the slide. Our only complaint was that the evening we were at the pool the hot tub was so hot you couldn't even sit in it. I don't know if it's normally like that or if it was just that one time. Other than that, we enjoyed the hotel and would stay there again.
