She Always Pees on Mainstreet at Magic Kingdom! Update 2/9

Great updates! Glad you got the CD drawer to cooperate.

It went like this:

Me: "Listen...you can take the easy road or you can take the window...your choice but you only got one life to live so choose wisely."

Thingamabob on the floor: "Geez lady...I was just playin."

Me: "Do I look like I am in the playin mood?" :cool2:

Thingamabob on the floor: "No...you look like you do when someone drinks the last of the milk and does not tell you." :scared1:

Me: "Yeah...that was the tall/dark/skinny one and you saw what happened to him right?"

Thingamabob on the floor: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO....not college! Anything but college!!! They will spill beer on me and use me for a pizza tray!!!!!"

It really looks like you guys were enjoying yourselves this morning!
We had a great time!

Okay...

DING DING!! (For excellent use of the word cumbersome.)

Loving the soup nazi reference, although I'm sorry you had to go without.

I'm with you on your breakfast perfection...Biscuits and gravy are a standard vacation indulgence for me which DH considers ghastly, so I'd never have to share. I'm not sure if that makes me lucky or not. :rotfl:

Loving the pics...you guys are so cute!

I love it when random people strike up a conversation with you about the oddest things. I think it's a vibe. DH has it...especially with the retired generation. They constantly chat him up about the weirdest things. I must have "witch with a B" stamped across my forehead because people mostly leave me alone. I'm good with that. Want me to loan you my stamp for your forehead?? :rotfl2:

I've always wanted to do F&W but I'm not holding my breath.

Great report so far...can't wait to hear more.

You guys really look good together, we are gonna do the photopass this time cause we only have pics of one or the other, none together. Hopefully we will be trying the F&W in Oct when I get there with the kids, never done it and really looking forward to it. I also seem to be a stranger magnet and an not sure why I guess I have one of those faces that people like to talk at.:confused3 Everything you gus tried looked really good you had my mouth watering and the drink!!!!!!!! ooohhh yah gotta try that one.:thumbsup2

Hugs to all!

Great PP pictures :thumbsup2
Love your stroll through WS.....oh and my Cosmo slush....one of my favorite WS drinks :) I can't even tell you how many I had.....I spent a lot of time in France in October :rolleyes1
I remember reading that somewhere about no take out soup for LC during F&W  I enjoy seeing what you stop to eat and then remembering...hey I ate that too....many times more than once
The Villages are enormous! Just make sure you start saving for a decked out golf cart so you can be styling! My parents have a house near Ocala which is very close to The Villages and we know some peeps that live there. :goodvibes

Wow, the things I'm learning on this TR!

I had no idea that you could get take-out soup and breadsticks at Le Cellier. I'll have to keep that in mind...how cool!

And that's just kinda awesome that you can call the UK phone booths!

After escaping the "Grannie Pantie" patrol, we forged onward in search of a perfect gift for Shannn. :3dglasses

This brought us through the Japanese pavillion and we took our time enjoying the sights. Walked along paths by the Koi fish and watched some lucky people open oysters. I totally want to do this again but I also think I want to but a ring like Carsyn did with my pearl picked out to get what I want. Her pearl was a dark gray and now has developed into gray with chocolate and green hues. She wears it every day for the past year and it was a great investment in a life long souvenir. :thumbsup2

We also, could not believe how dead it was still at mid afternoon!

P1080592.jpg

Then, we were Germany bound because I just wanted to smell some good caramel.

*I will admit I knew this was a lie going in.

Caramel is my favorite color...er I mean flavor. Caramel is my favorite smell. Caramel is my favorite topping. When kids were happy to get chocolate drizzled on their ice cream, I always wanted caramel.

Not BUTTERSCOTCH.

CARAMEL.

Butterscotch is caramel's cousin from the side of the family that nobody wants to invite over for Christmas. :snooty: :lmao:

I make killer Sweet Potatoes on the Holidays. Candied Sweet Potatoes that are more of a dessert than a vegetable. In fact my sister Laura and I fight over who has the best recipe each year, trying new concoctions and I always become accused of bribing the kids when they vote mine.

Why?

Because it contains CARAMEL!!! :thumbsup2

So after perusing other venues, we found ourselves at the Holy Shrine of Caramel, "Werthers" shop! Walking in was like Willy Wonka meets Santa Clause, for me. The eye started twitching by the amount of choices to be had and I knew there would be only a small amount purchased.

I found out that they indeed had freshly made Caramel Corn and we also purchased a Caramel Cupcake to split. Caramel Corn was purchased in a big bag and eaten for the rest of the trip.

If I could kneel at the shrine of the Caramel man, I would. Have you ever had something so buttery, so soft and yet so dense on your palate that you almost felt you might cry if you swallowed it too soon? This was the glory of the cupcake. :worship:

The frosting was rich and no way could I have eaten it alone. The cake was moist and added an actual vanilla taste to the caramel flavored frosting. Not a chemical taste but actual vanilla. Decadent and suspenseful because if you got the right combination of cake and frosting and chewed slowly, you experienced different moments of flavor as the sugar dissolved and the cupcake melded into one part not two.

I am a buttercream frosting snob. No whipped "Dairy," for this girl. If I am going to pay the penalty for something calorically equal to a 70 foot pixie stick, I want to make it worth my while.

I also like cupcakes that are not wet from being flash frozen and then thawed out to serve. You can never undo the taste of that wet cake. And it is different than a Mexican cake that they serve with cream soaking into the bottom. That is meant to be wet and the cake consistency is more porous to absorb the "leche" without falling apart.

Some cupcake places popping up make the cakes the day or two before serving and freeze them as soon as they are made. They un-thaw as they need to and say they are fresh.

If your cake in the cupcake, is as clammy as a dead person...it is not fresh.

I DO NOT WANT MORGUE CUPCAKES!!!

So with all that hype...here is the beloved cupcake of Caramel!

P1080593.jpg

You can tell we used more cupcake than frosting....but we found a sinful combo later with the unused frosting!!

Caramel Corn dipped in Frosting...CRACK IN CORN!!!

Outside of Germany they have a glass blower stand where I found the perfect gift for Shannn. I had wanted something to remind her of this trip and something that suited her personality well. I will let her show you all a pic if she is so inclined but it was of a character that inspires people and it was able to be attached to a stand to be displayed easily on her desk at school or home!

Dan and I decided we would head back to the hotel for a swim and the boat dock was right by the glass blowing stand so we were thrilled when it pulled right up. I had never ridden the ferry across the lagoon to Mexico and it was a really enjoyable treat to slow down and enjoy the view of the buildings from the water.

As we were walking out, we got another new drink to try and Dan, was not thrilled.

P1080598.jpg

It was tart and I mean, your gonna pucker something, like it or not, tart! :rotfl:

Epcot_Food_Wine_Festival_13.jpg

It was no wonder that Brazil is the land of beautiful people walking upright with fantastic posture! Puckering takes practice!! :rotfl2:

We went back to POFQ and swam for about an hour in the warm sun and met a couple who were here solo for a few days after their family had left. It was her first time at Disney and he only had been there once a long time ago. It was also her first vacation and I am guessing she was about 52 3/4.

She said she just never wanted to travel and they were a fairly new couple and he said, you want me you will have to be willing to leave your house and the neighborhood surrounding it.

It looked like they had experienced a great time and it made me sad that she had lived most of her life so afraid of what could happen that she forgot to live.

I heard a quote this morning on the radio that said, "Anything worth doing takes a risk."

It made me think of that couple and I am not sure I would have otherwise telling this tale. It made me think of pieces of my life I am my own worst enemy in and really want to work past them to experience what is on the other side of, "what if."

When we got back we showered and I decided to wash my hair and pray it turned out alright. With natural curly hair it all depends on the day.

I felt we looked really good and asked a housekeeper to take our picture outside but I made a rookie mistake.

I did not check the pictures before saying, "Thanks, your done!"

So after, I come to find out we were in the shadow the whole time and what would have been great photos, turned out marginal at best. Totally makes me sad still because I wanted them before wind did a number on my hair and we get such few opportunities to get pictures all dressed up.

For me it is...ohh yeah...never went back to try that one, when I read the boards with the menu!!! Let me just say I will be doing things much differently next trip!!!

Enjoying your report - just too sick right now to respond other than above. Hoping to get our TR started sometime soon.

Hugs to all!
You too and want your TR reading material so I hope you start feeling well!
Great PP pictures :thumbsup2

Tracy
I need more time next time and NOT ON A WEEKEND!!!
Wow, the things I'm learning on this TR!
Me too!!
And that's just kinda awesome that you can call the UK phone booths!
I called yesterday...asked for Alice in Wonderland and some guy said, "You have Epcot, sorry, wrong number." Like he gets those calls all the time!! :rotfl2:

****BRAIN STORM!!!

So I just got a wild hair and decided to do something.

I called one of the booths and got a woman and told her I was starting a Pay it Forward Post Card extravaganza. I am going to send her a postcard from MN, with the numbers on it of the phone booths and when she gets back from her trip, she will call, and send one from her State to who she gets and so on!

I just thought it would be a fun way to let more people know about the numbers to call and she had no idea of the Disboards...her 8th trip btw...so I will also put the website for the Dis on there.

I did not ask for anything but her address, she is from Michigan and was totally excited to be a part of it!

I am sure you might get some people who want nothing to do with it but I thought it might just make someones day!

Let me know if you guys try it and what your results are. I thought ahead of time if it was a young kid I would just say, "have a magical day," and wait for an adult to pick up but I got lucky on my first shot!!

Now she she has a little Disney magic on its way when she gets home, the pefect way to keep that feeling alive. You know I've never ridden the boat at Epcot and I think this time I'm gonna make a point to. I to love me some caramel it is one of those warm fuzzies.

Ok..been gone from the boards for a few months but all caught up on your TRs and joining in for this one! :thumbsup2
Your pics are great and you both are such cuties!
I continue to covet your story telling abilities and dream of the day I will get the nerve to write my own TR.
Alas, this year may come and go without a trip to WDW:scared1:….I know….I get light headed at the thought myself. I get through it will deep breathing and a diet coke. Also, I have taffy from Goofy’s that I’m still working on from this past summer’s trip.
Why will be passing up on our home away from home?? How can we possibly go a YEAR without stepping foot on Main Street USA?? We were given a trip to Montana for a week this summer by my parents…plane tickets, cabin, rental car, the works! They will be with us and the trip was also given to my brother. We were stunned , excited and so very grateful! Glacier National Park in Montana is Disney to my parents so they are excited to show us all they love about the area. And we are excited to see it all!
…but I digress. The trip is planned for the time we usually are at Disney…end of May- beginning of June. Also, my husband had back surgery this year and has taken more than his share of time off work for us to get another chunk of vacation for him. So sad….So I am living through you my dear!!!
So sorry to have taken over your TR with my carrying on!!

I to love me some caramel it is one of those warm fuzzies.

I am really looking forward to seeing the new caramel shop, too. The cupcake looks amazing! There is a shop in Ashville NC that has amazing caramels they make with seasalt on top...yummy yumm yumm!! I'll have to try and remember the name of the place and let y'all know.

HI! Just found you TR and I LOOOOOOVE it! You're so funny :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing. ;)

All caught up! This trip we're having breakfast at Ohana instead of dinner. Do you think they'll serve me one of those sunset drinks at 8am?? :lmao: I cannot wait to explore the caramel shop! I must get me one (or 10) of those cupcakes :worship:

Hey!! I just followed your link from your post on my trip report. I've read all of day one, but I wanted to jump ahead and tell you how much I'm enjoying it. You are so funny!! I could really relate to you wanting to leave the house cleaned in case you died on vacation, I'm always afraid that if I don't leave it clean that when my Mom came over to pack up my belongings she would shake her head and say " I thought I raised her better than this. Anyway, just wanted you to know I'm enjoying it and laughed the whole way through ( yes even the throw up part)!

Well no wonder your computer misbehaves if you spit water and it...and things of that sort!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Glad my comments proved entertaining...that's what I'm here for!

Oh, food, glorious food!!! It all looks so yummy!
Where's the recipe for that parisian cosmo slushie??

That cupcake - Oh. My. Gosh. I can't believe the amount of frosting! I will be stopping into that shop in approximately 6 1/2 weeks and MUST try that!!! Your descriptions are so awesome, it was like I was tasting it too!!!!

Someday I will get there for F&W!! This year I will enjoy Flower and Garden. I wish I had enough points to get back in October for F&W, then I would buy APs for sure! Oh well! Need to save up for another DVC contract!!!

Can't wait to hear about your dinner with S&S!!!

Sher - I can't find a recipe for the Parisian Cosmo slush anywhere but I did find the ingredients! So I say try out various amounts till you get something good!! Just add ice!

With Grey Goose vodka, Grand Marnier, and Cranberry Juice, the Parisian Cosmo Slush takes the stage with a shockingly red-pink color and a taste that’s out of this world!

Okay, I just have to say that I have lurked on all of your other TR's, and was thrilled when I found your new one!

Your TR's are always so funny and have me rolling. :rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear more and about your first time at California Grill.
