She Always Pees on Mainstreet at Magic Kingdom! Update 2/9

I do remember now that we stopped at a shop in the walkway from Test Track to Future World and got Dan a sweat shirt that was cream with plaid inside the hood. It has Mickey on it and was on clearance for $23.00!!! Finding anything in his size for that great deal meant we had to grab it!!! I always find great deals there and I think they tend to carry some clearanced items often.

I also bought a Disney card wristband.

blogcard.jpg

This is a bungee/plastic/stretchy band that goes around your wrist with a tiny credit swiper tag, that allows you to not be digging for money all the time. Like a room key card but one you have prepaid with cash so you are limiting your spending spree, free for all, Mickey please pick pocket me, lifestyle on vacation. We put $100 on it and it was plenty for our stay for the F&W vendors and then we could use the leftover money for anything, anywhere. Great idea but I found the size of the gift card part was too big. Dan was able to wear it with no problems but I have pretty small hands so the thing was cumbersome.

(Do I get a ding ding for such a big word placed properly?? :rotfl2:)

I had spoken with Shannon on the phone and verified their ETA. The night before they had driven quite a ways from Knoxville and were on the road early to be at WDW late morning. They were staying at Boardwalk and were planning on checking in and then, heading over for a few hours at Epcot.

So here we were, in front of the entrance to FW, me on the phone with Shannn and asking her locale and Dan is tapping me on the shoulder and I am getting frustrated because....Hellloooooo...I am on the phone!

Then he taps and points and like any Golden Retriever, my tail went up and my nose poked out and I looked in the distance for what must be a flight of mallards coming in.

Or Shannn, walking straight at us, on her phone as well!!! :lmao:

They had already split some food and had a Kim Possible appointment coming up so we agreed on the meeting arrangements for later on and separated paths.

Dan and I headed right and started our F&W love affair at Ireland!

P1080577-1.jpg

Now I cannot tell you how empty this place was... Dead. Literally dead. I could have thrown a boomerang down the walkway to France and it would have came back without decapitating anyone or even slightly maiming an English bloke!

(Remember this for later!)

WE LOOOVE Cheese. So the Cheese plate and the chocolate cake were a split must for sure! The difference between us is Dan can eat dessert first but I totally am an eat in order type of girl and I also do not want bites mixed. If I am eating a cheese plate, I will eat the chocolate after that is done thank you!

Cheese and Chocolate can be mixed because I know in some countries Cheese is a dessert but you get the idea. :teacher:

P1080578-1.jpg

The Cheese plate was great. I am not a blue cheese fan at all and none were funky. Just good and strong. The bread was dense and paired well but I was not a fan of the chutney. Again, not usually a fan of mixing tarts with the deep, smokey flavor of cheese.

P1080579-1.jpg

The cake was really rich but seriously addicting. Every crumb was accounted for!

Here is the menu board for a better description and price info!

We then hit the road to Canada. Spent actually quite a bit of time finding new nooks and crannies we had never seen before while only hitting the highlights of Epcot.

Our food plans here were to walk into Le Cellier for a "To Go Kit." You can actually get a container of soup and bread sticks to go! This was an awesome find I discovered here a few months ago and it was all we wanted at LeCellier anyway!

The woman at the front greeter area ushered us past and was happy to tell us to just tell the check in chick what we were there for.

I felt like I was in a drug transaction zone.

There were no shoes hung over telephone wires overhead though!

As we waited for our woman to come back with our goods after we placed our order, our taste buds were multiplying.

Then she came out with nothing.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Seems that the chef said they would not fill any "to go" orders when F&W was going on.

So we left, tastebuds retreating like they had tasted liverwurst, and tried to decide if we wanted a dixie cup of soup or not.

We decided not, and pushed forward to England and then France.

We walked away from the candy counter at Epcot which was a huge milestone for us. They carry some great Cadbury chocolate you cannot get anywhere else but we knew our calorie consumption could be better suited elsewhere.

When we got to France we purchased a drink that was yummo! Again, I get a sip and Dan gets the glass but it was so good I wished my stupid stomach would not hate me when it gets any booze!

Parisian Cosmo Slush!

We sat by the fountain and enjoyed the company of each other and watching the few people in Epcot, walk by.

Oh yeah...we also had a creme brulee...

P1080581.jpg

I usually love these but Dan ate the most of it. Just not my fave of the day and he usually hates creme brulee!

There are a ton of shots here by the WDW photo pass people but alas...the CD thingamabob is still not opening!

So here is a self taken picture!

Do you know if you had other gift cards could you combine them and have them put on the wrist one? Or purchase the wrist one with the gift cards? Sounds like a great idea. Anytime I have an extra $20 I pick up a Disney gift card at our grocery store. I am getting quite an accrual of them for our October trip!

Are you guys doing an October trip this year? You live so close yet so far and I'm dying to meet you!

Not positive but I do not think so and I was under the impression it was strictly for F&W that they would be having them available...maybe call Guest Relations? :confused3

Yes - I think it will annually be a trip for us combined with a trip to Anderson for Parents weekend!

There should be a little hole on your CD drive that you can get the end of a paper clip in that will open up the drive.

Loving your report and glad you are finally feeling better!

Did you know you can call the phone booths in Epcot? My mom was reading me an article about it, and I've been dying to try and just haven't had time.

I love the parks when they're empty. Since the move off of a year-round school calendar, we haven't been able to go during any off-peak times, but I remember when we did and it was amazing. And a few years ago I went during Spring Break with my friend, and we did morning EMH at MK, and there was no one there. We got a castle picture with no one in the background. It was awesome.

I hope you feel better, both in your TR and in real life.

Ooooo that would be great if it was the same time!

And I got an answer from Cheshire Figment about the GC:

"We have the wrist gift cards at the water parks, and they will have them available at Epcot during F&W. However, our rules do not allow us to use a gift card for purchase of a gift card. But if you are staying at a Disney Resort you can have our gift cards applied as advance payment to your charging, and use the KTTW to purchase the gift cards."

We do this randomly when we need a Disney fix. It's super fun!

Endoscopy test scheduled for next Friday now. They told me the doc specifically said I need to be the last appt of the day? So now I want to know why that is??? Trying not to freak out and just assume she thinks I am so popular she wants to make sure her time with me is not shortened by another patient!

Need to look at that!!

Thanks hon!!!

TODAY IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!

#1 - Got a call that a loan modification for our house is going through!!!!

I have not said anything here but I found out recently that the ex - was behind on his portion of the house (we still own it together.) So was beyond stressed on if I would have to come up with a balloon payment, trying not to throttle him for not telling me and keep the stress at bay with all these stomach issues.

We are talking drastically changing wedding plans, life plans etc., amount of money.

Anyway...now...I am worry free and I am feeling so blessed. THANK YOU GOD!!!!! :worship:

#2 I sat on the floor and after finding no pinhole to shove a paper clip into, decided to shove the paper clip under the slot drive, trying to open it somehow...and....

IT POPPED OPEN!!!!!

Updated photos on the way!!!! :cool1:

I remember my first time being the driver around(and around, and around again) Atlanta.... Not a big fan of that city and it's highway signs...

At least we have highway signs....they splurged!
Unfortunately, we don't have freakin' street signs......

Here are some photos from the start of Epcot!

Now....

last we left the booze sniffin Dan...he was wanting to snap a few pics of him and our fair maiden by the fountain in France.

Photo0008FourBySix.jpg

Photo0009FourBySix.jpg

Photo0010FourBySix.jpg

I love what they captured here even if I hate myself in photos... I always bite my lower lip when I look at him and he has me in his psychotic ...or I mean...psychic gaze!!! :3dglasses :lmao:

After our love fest photo shoot...

We walked through some French stuff but I was ready for some actual food. I went into the Boulangerie Patisserie, there and got a few treats to munch on and Dan grabbed a table outside.

P1080583.jpg

The pizza was great and the baguette with meat and cheese was fresh and lovely. I should have only gotten one though and came back for the other later. The baguette was huge!!

About five minutes after we started to graze, a table was occupied right near us by three women in their retirement years.

No - I have no idea how old exactly...I just know because they proceeded to tell us that they were from The Villages, and we should really think about moving there.

Now I know they did not mean in the next 2 minutes but nonetheless, they had us start thinking about retirement and that fact scared the heck out of me.

How is it possible I am almost 40??? How can I be at an age where The Golden Girls, are giving me advice?

Wasn't I just getting advice on which diaper works best on leaks? :rotfl2:

They were like mini tour guides of this massive place that they described in vivid detail and with almost cult-like bravado. There was a widow, a divorcee and a married woman so they represented all aspects of life as you age.

Like the 3 Fairy's of Sleeping Beauty, minus the fact that those broads as far as I was informed, were celibate and spinsters.

From golf, to movie theaters, shopping, doctors for diabetics and your nuisance goiter, they had what you needed covered.

Then they said that the best benefit was that the reality was if you come and are married, one of you will die eventually, so you will not be alone.

Now I get that is a critical juncture in life and why it is so important to make sure if you can, surround yourself with friends and activity when that moment happens.

I just do not want to be thinking about that less than a year out from my wedding from the guy who will kick the bucket in days and counting according to these sassy, spry, silver haired mavens.

P1080587.jpg

May I introduce you to, from the left, Flora, Fauna and Merriweather.

Honestly, it was an hour well spent and Dan and I were so depressed after, we did have a conversation about the benefits of that sort of environment in 20 years or so...ya know he is older than me so I should be looking out for him before senility hits. ;)

P1080586.jpg

Dan before the...you will die soon speech...

and....

P1080584.jpg

after!!!! :rotfl:

Or S squared but I have no idea how to actually make the S into a math symbol for square so you are outta luck!

Hold the ALT key on your keyboard - and while you hold it type the numbers: 253

Let go of ALT and you will see the ² appear. (Or, y'know, just copy and paste mine... I won't tell.)

Love the TR so far! :goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather! Oh Brother! That is too much. No one....I mean....NO ONE....wants to be discussing retirement communities during their vacation to Disney world. Reminds of the time that the cashier at Khols kept asking me if I was sure I didn't qualify for the Weds senior citizen discount (this was 3 years ago, mind you) Gee thanks!

I am surprised about the no soup during food and wine, but I guess it makes sense.

Anyway - despite a few bumps, you guys look to be having a simply marvelous day in Epcot. So funny that you practically bumped right into Shannon in Epcot.

Great PP pics!

LOL!!! Was so glad to look at that picture and not see my cousin! She lives in the Villages....got married to a guy she met there! See, another benefit - one of you dies off and the other can find a replacement.
Seriously, The Villages are HHHHHUUUUGGGGEEEEE....they even have their own school - for the employees kids - no kids under the age of 18 are allowed to live there.

Now back to the report....:rolleyes1

Great updates! Glad you got the CD drawer to cooperate. It really looks like you guys were enjoying yourselves this morning!

Ok...spill the beans. You work for the IRS don't ya!!

Anyone that smart works for somebody taking my money!! :lmao:

Maybe you work for Disney! :rotfl:

Love the TR so far! :goodvibes
Thanks - you are so kind!!!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather! Oh Brother! That is too much. No one....I mean....NO ONE....wants to be discussing retirement communities during their vacation to Disney world. We could not shut them off! Then I got paranoid we were not preparing for our impending demise and they had me asking them questions.

#1 Are the Gardeners hot?
#2 Do they ban speedo's for the saggy?
#3 Is there mandatory back waxers for the men?
#4 How bout for the women?
#5 What is the guy/girl ratio?
#6 Of that ratio - how many of the guys have money?

I mean folks...the first marriage was for a baby, the second 100% for love...third time is absolutely gonna be...Momma needs a Louis Vuitton makeover!!! :lmao:

I am surprised about the no soup during food and wine, but I guess it makes sense.
Yes...but no bread sticks are available @ F&W and anyone who has had the soup from the cart, knows it is never as good as fresh from a warm stove vs. a lukewarm crockpot!!
Anyway - despite a few bumps, you guys look to be having a simply marvelous day in Epcot. So funny that you practically bumped right into Shannon in Epcot.
Literally...if we would have both walked 15 more yards...we would have smacked right into each other!:wizard:

Checking my list...that is a must have.

Important Things For Retirement Community:

# 6 - A bevy of single men to pick from....their own teeth is a plus. :jumping1:

Seriously, The Villages are HHHHHUUUUGGGGEEEEE....they even have their own school - for the employees kids - no kids under the age of 18 are allowed to live there.
There are exceptions...I asked! If you have grankids staying for a few weeks etc. and they are allowing younger people to buy in "neighborhoods" of communities that are starting to die off...literally. They thought the age was like 45 to buy but the thought was The Village, would already have people vacationing there and ready to move in full time in 20 years, that will all be the same age and they can replenish their coffers.
So have you heard a ton of negative about the place or all positive like the fairies mentioned? I mean there will always be a gripe here and there in any living situation but it made a lot of sense...if you are a people person. It makes me so sad to see older communities in towns just living as shut in's because they are so isolated as the turnover happens. In this day and age - we do not see our neighbors and take care of our old like they used to...

I think I need some prune juice now!:rotfl2:
