Shaping up for 2.0

You inspire me with all this walking. :worship:

I used to walk for an hour about 6 days a week. I injured my foot, and I just can't get back into the swing of things now that it is better.

Just start out slow, Walk 1 block the first day, then add a driveway each day or walk for 20 minutes then add to it each day. I found it very helpful to find a friend to walk with, then you have someone to keep you moving. If you don't have someone to walk with you, pop in a podcast and let Pete & Crew keep you entertained while you walk.

We started out walking for 20 minutes 3 weeks ago and now we walk for an hour, every morning. We meet at work at 6 am and start out from there. It is so much cooler in the morning than later in the day, which helps keep us going.

I finished day 15 of my 30 day challenge in EA Active yesterday, and the scale's still being nice to me this week. I feel like I'm making progress and I think I'm officially through that first plateau. :yay: You think I'd know by now that my body doesn't gain weight quickly and doesn't lose weight quickly... I guess it's slow and steady for me.

BUT I will be handing out free drink of the days (or libation of your choice) on PCC 2.0 to anyone who helps kick me in the rear to keep going through the second plateau, when it gets here. I'm sure it will, and it's usually the second plateau where I give up. Hopefully recognizing (and admitting) that will keep me on the straight and narrow.

I have also learned that Active's "Jump Lunges" are gonna have to wait until I'm smaller or something. Otherwise it's going to be Active's "What Caroline Was Doing When She Broke Her Knee".

Yay Jaime and Caroline!
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
Thanks!!

I have finally lost that all-important pound. The one that takes you from one set of "tens" to the next. I can officially say I'm out of the 90's, and into the 80's!!! To me, that was a major goal. Now to make sure I keep it off and keep the scale going in the "left" direction. (If it goes to the right, I'm gaining!!) :rotfl:
Congrats!! I'm so looking forward to moving down to the next set of 'tens'; way to go! :woohoo:

Last week's weigh-in was lower than weight has been in a long time. During the week, the scale bounced up a bit. But this morning was one pound less than last week, so a minor victory for me.
"Lower than weight has been in a long time" sounds like a major victory to me! Congrats!

I only got to walk 1 mile today, due to Thunderstorms off and on all day. Managed to walk at lunch and made it back inside just before the next wave of rain hit.
Great work on getting in the mile before the rain! I'm trying to think of the last time I walked a mile at a stretch that didn't involve World Showcase... it's not coming to me... :rolleyes1

I was just gonna say 'start slow', but tlcoke has way more detailed (and better!) advice just above me, so I'll stick with you can do it! :cheer2:

Happy Friday, everyone!

Caroline, nothing wrong with slow and steady. I think we're all in that boat!! But no knee breaking! :scared1: I have always found that it's easy to start any diet, but after about 2-3 weeks, that's when it gets hard to STICK with it! Honestly, I need a little less :surfweb: and a little more  to help me. Just keep coming back here and read everyone's little stories for the day. I tend to find a lot of my inspiration here. :grouphug:Also, on my computer at work, I have a tiny little post it note stuck to the corner of my monitor, staring at me like the Geico money! On it is simply written 2 numbers: where I am now with my weight, and where I want to be. No one knows what those numbers are for. Kinda have them written like a fraction, but it's always a great pleasure every time I can change that top number, even by just one little pound.

Happy Friday everyone!!! Good luck, stay safe, and have a great weekend!!!:yay:

I walked 3.9 miles this morning. :woohoo:

I think I am going to save the email show and listen to it on my walk tomorrow morning, since I will be walking solo.

Me (Ruth) and DBF Beth have just booked for Podcast 2.0. We weren't on the first one, but can't resist the great deal and a fantastic December getaway!

So now we're joining this group as well to keep up our motivation up for the next 18 months (exactly from today). We're excited about how much it is possible to lose during that time!

So now we need to step away from the :surfweb: and start doing  and :yay:.

Thanks for being such great :cheer2: for all of us!

Welcome Aboard!

We will do our best to keep you motivated as we look toward our prize in 548 Days (The Cruise).

Well, I just got a nice brisk walk to Subway in, since I didn't bring lunch. (I got the 6 inch Roast Beef on wheat, no cheese, all the veggies plus spinach, and light on the honey mustard - 7 points.) Added in the bag of apple slices (0 points!) and made it a combo. I got a little movement in for today.

But I had to walk through the gauntlet of schoolchildren on their last day of school in order to get to Subway. I deserve a medal for that. ;)

I know I shouldn't do this, but I weigh myself every morning. I'm up significantly from yesterday, and tomorrow's my weigh in day. I'm thinking I might be headed down from last week's weight, but at this point, it's unpredictable. We'll just wait and see...

I weigh every morning too, I think those ups and downs we see are why we should only weigh in once a week. Congrats on your walk at lunch.

Lori, You and I may be at WDW at the same time in October if I read your ticker correctly. I arrive Oct 15th in the evening and leave on the morning of the 25th.

Nice job on the extra steps! - I parked on the wrong side of the Target lot and walked across - and there were no cart returns anywhere near me, so I had to walk halfway back to retunr the cart!

I also get on that scale every morning - just an old habit... :confused3

Me, too! Sometimes on the three times between getting up and leaving for work ad I get three different answers depending on what point in my morning routine.

I know it is "wrong" to do it every day. But while this is new to me, it helps me see that things are going in the right general direction. And correct it if it isn't.

Me jumping up :ccat: and down on the scale.

going to blow my own horn here for a minute, finally hit the 50 pound loss mark  Was stuck at a plateau for what seemed like forever (really only about a month)

I am at my Weight Watchers meeting right now. I just weighed in and lost 2.8 lbs. this week! That means I lost the 2.4 I gained and a little more, for a total of 41.6 lbs. lost! Woohoo!

I am at my mother's for four days. Her health is not good and I am trying to help out some and give some relief to my brother who is the primary care-giver.

I am afraid I will be stress eating and not exercising enough. :sad2:

I hope when I get home I can quickly un-do any damage and get back on track.

I walked this morning. I went 2.4 miles while listening to the Email show.

Congrats to everyone who logged successes this week.:thumbsup2 Keep up the good work.

I totally agree about the inspiration here. I'm pretty shy in real life and it's hard for me to talk about weight things with people I know face to face (especially since the vast majority of those people aren't and have never been trying to lose weight...). Having like minded people with a similar time frame for their goal to talk to is really nice. :grouphug: And I love the post it note idea!

You are a walking machine! :worship: Walking outside with the podcast team sounds safer than doing it on the treadmill. I've had a few near-falls from laughing - at least outside you can stop at will, lol!

I like weighing every day for that reason, too. I think it helps me to know what my body's various cycles are for gains and losses, and it keeps me honest through the week, I think. I also like it because if I'm having a slow loss week, I'd like to know about it in advance, kinda. I mean, if I'm doing everything right and I'm sure I'm gonna get on the scale Sunday morning and see a big loss, and then I only get, like, 0.2 lbs, I find that I get more hung up on the number than if I'm prepared to only see a little loss. As long as I don't get hung up on the number day to day, I'm okay with it.

Awesome work, you two!! Congrats!! :cheer2::cheer2::woohoo::cheer2::cheer2:

Tomorrow morning's official weigh in for me. Scale was down a little further this morning and it was one of those times when weighing every day really helped. I'm so motivated to see that 'official' number be the same (or lower!) that I went out of my way to pick a healthier dinner and will be on my best behavior tonight at work. Fingers crossed!
