Shaken, Not Stirred, With a Twist of Pixie Dust! A Food and Wine Trip!NEW! Pgs.75,76

Do the small portions leave you wanting more? or is it just enough because you want to try all the different foods. I woulda just stayed at the greek place and ordered 10 of everything.

The Fisherman's Pie sounds great. popcorn:: I really wanted to try it but we never made it to the F&W festival. My DD was so ready to ride something that I didn't have the heart to drag her through the countries on the first day of our trip. Then it was over the next day so we missed it. But that's ok. Maybe next time. But I'm enjoying watching the two of you eat anyway!:lmao:

To respond to your question.............. I would love to do a TR. I really enjoy chatting with other Disney lovers. I don't have anyone in "real life" that I can do that with b/c they would think I was weird. No one esle gets my love for WDW. I'm just really unsure about posting pictures of my DD online and worried about unknowingly sharing too much info with the wrong person. So I'm still thinking on it. I've been dising for several years now and I just recently got up the nerve to add my location (just my state) to my profile. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but I can't help it!

I have just started my first TR. I am not posting any names or pics of anyone besides me. It's not for the reasons you stated, but it can be done! And I saw a TR where the woman could not post the face of one child due to legal reasons, so she swirled his face before posting the pics.
And I agree with you that it is difficult to talk to people about our obsession! Most people don't get it! Thank goodness for the DIS!

I just ate dinner and still hearing about that Maple Glazed Salmon and the Fisherman's pie is making my mouth water!! :cloud9: :rotfl2:

:rotfl: They were both so delicious even the second time around!

Me too - I try only to read this after I eat, but to no avail. My dinner never compares, and then I want something from F&W. Too bad for me.

Don't worry, I understand -- nothing ever seems quite as good around here when I finish updating!

Oh I think that chalking out the Mayflower is an awesome idea!
If we have decent weather, you just just gave me another activity! :rolleyes1
I love the DIS!

It's a lot of fun and gets the kids outside.

Even when you want to sleep in, it's just impossible at Disney.

Can't wait to see your souvenir pics.

The chicken souvlaki and spanokopita look delish! I wish Disney would open a Greek pavilion.

It is completely impossible for me to sleep in when I am at Disney -- I just keep thinking of all the prime park time I am missing.

I wish Disney would open a Greek pavilion, too! I could eat Greek food all the time! Love it!

I love that Charles want to drive so he could get back quicker for his afternoon nap. See Mr "I Wont Rent a Car", I KNEW there was a logical reason why I like to drive to the parks!

Food looks yummy as usual. From reading everyone's TR I am learning the F&W menu. I know exactly what I want next year! YUM!

Charles was right, too, it was a very short drive back to the resort.

There was still a lot of stuff that we didn't try, but we would have a lot of repeats if we went back.

Was that before you did the word finds, coloring pages, and construction paper projects?

Before, of course! :lmao:

Yeah, grazing the booths takes a lot of time out of doing rides. In fact, the entire weekend we only rode two rides. Shocking, I know!

Oh, I understand your hesitancy, but like Tiggrbaby said, you can do a TR without any pictures of people -- there are quite a few who do that including TarzansKat who I met down there. If you decide to do one, make sure you tell me the link so I can come visit. :goodvibes

Loved this update!!!!! How much fun you guys had!!!! I love the Food and Wine Pictures!! Loved that Charles wanted to drive that day so you could head back to take a nap!!!

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving break!! Enjoy your week off!!!!

Thanks, Jen! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving break, too, when it starts. Charles was most insistent about taking the car -- in fact, we were just coming up to the Epcot gates when you texted me the first time. :goodvibes

Hmmmm I love feta and spinach!!! Great Greek food!

It was delish! Now, I wish I had tried the baklava as well!

Do the small portions leave you wanting more? or is it just enough because you want to try all the different foods. I woulda just stayed at the greek place and ordered 10 of everything.

The portions were the perfect size to share and be able to keep eating. We knew we wanted to try lots of different stuff, so we never were left feeling like we didn't get enough.

The Greek booth was one of my favorites -- they also had a Greek salad and baklava that now I wish I had tried.

Can't wait to see pics of your souvies (and the lobster roll)!!!

All good stuff!!! :goodvibes

Oh, you started your TR -- I need to come check it out!!!

I agree -- most of the people I work with just do not get why we keep going back year after year.

Many apologizes, CP, for my late arrival but I've caught up and am loving you adults only report. You've had some tasty looking food and drinks! I'm a sucker for coladas, and dragonberry sounds delightful.

Charles seems much more into this trip. Do you think the weather was more to his liking? Or having alone time with his sweet wife?

Had you stayed at CB before? Looks like a great place to stay.

Looking forward to more.:goodvibes

Hi, Christine!!! I am so glad you are here!!! :goodvibes Those Dragonberry Coladas were worth their weight in gold!!!

Charles was definitely more into this trip -- I think it was the combination of just being the two of us, the cooler weather, and his favorite activities of eating and drinking. :lmao:

We had never stayed at CBR before and were very pleased with it. Even though it is a huge resort we didn't feel like it was that big, and the island theming was very relaxing. We will probably stay there again so the kids can experience the pirate pool.

I, too, find it really amusing that you knew it was the Jamie Deen lunch. :lmao: Sounds like a great start to your day. Good food. That's always a good start to any day, but it's even better if you're eating it Disney World, don't you think?

All that giggling could only mean one thing. :rotfl2:

I am a firm believer that food always tastes better at Disney. :thumbsup2

Yes....food does taste better at Disney and has the added bonus of no calories!!

I just found a picture the other day at my parents house of SE from one of the disc cameras. Is that what they were called? :lmao: I think so....they took pictures and they were a weird size.

Mmmmm looking forward to Italy. If you did make it there ? I haven't been there since they changed.

Exactly! I always say that! :rotfl:

I wonder just how many pictures of SSE are out there in the world. :lmao:

I could be cruel and leave you in suspense, but we do end up there for dinner that night. :goodvibes

So, you know me -- I am always looking ahead to the next vacation, and I have been spending a lot of time thinking about what we will be doing in 2010.

Well, the Disney gods must have been aware of what I was doing because today I got a pin code! It's for most of the year, and it's 20% off values, 30% off moderates, and 40% deluxes. Well, that of course got the wheels in my head turning, turning, turning.

If we traveled at the end of July right around Chelsea's 13th birthday, we would also run into value season for deluxes.

Now, here's where I need advice should I decide to go with the July idea.

Should we stay at the Grand Floridian for five nights/six days which is Chelsea's dream resort?

OR

Should we stay at the Beach Club for six nights/seven days?

Such a conundrum!!!

That's a hard choice!

I'd probably go with GF, because it's my dream too. But on the other hand, I might take the extra day too.

sorry, I'm no help!

If you take the extra day, it might be nice in the heat of July to have more time to hit the pool. But if you go over Chelsea's b-day, I think you should take her to her dream resort! I helped a lot too, didn't I?

Hmmmmmm :scratchin This is a tough one....
GF is on the monorail and is a gorgeous resort that I would love to stay at someday but it won't be in the DVC cards for me  I am sure the rooms are just beautiful. Chelsea's dream resort/birthday...
BC is also gorgeous...great location, SAB, walk to Epcot...you also get that extra night
Keep in mind that July has been known to have a lot of BTG's  I have been witness to them :lmao:

Oh I just don't know!! :sad2:

You see my dilemma, don't you? :goodvibes

The BTGs are what scare me the most about traveling in July, but on the other hand, it seems a shame to pass up a 40% that could be applied to a deluxe resort during its value season. I can't help but fantasize about a GF stay for Chelsea 13th complete with a Mad Hatter cake, afternoon tea, and fireworks on the beach. I just know it would be wonderful.

Agghhh, I should just make myself wait until after the holidays to decide which was my original plan. My mind isn't cooperating though.

I would do Grand Flo, hands down.

There are many unspeakable acts I would commit to get a 40% off code to that resort, let me tell you. pirate:

But honestly. Just a slight warning. I stayed there for the first time when I was 10 (younger than Miss Chelsea, but you'll see where this is going) and I never got it out of my head. As a matter of fact, during that trip, at the tender age of ten, I told my parents that when I got married I was going to honeymoon there.

And I did.

Just so you know, you may be setting her up. ;)

Would the BTGs be at GF though? You'd probably just see them in the parks. And fwiw, we saw them last January too.

Ahhh so lucky you already got a 2010 PIN! Would it be possible to do a split stay at BC and the GF? :confused3
