i asked on the SoG thread, and no nibbles. If I'm staying at SoG can I take Disney transportation to the port? Any details would be appreciated.

I think you would need to get to the nearest Disney resort - the Polynesian in this case. You should be able to catch Disney transportation from there. I would call DCL to get a "for sure" answer on SOG.

Unless things of changed within the last 18 months, you will not be able to take Disney transportation from Shades of Green to port. Disney does not provide transportation to or from Shades of Green. In addition, you will not be able to walk over to the Polynesian to use for transportation from there, as you need to be a registered Polynesian guest to take Disney transport from the Polynesian to the port.

An inexpensive option would be to rent a car and drive to the port. If you really want to do the DCL bus you could do a one-way trip back to MCO at the end of the cruise.

Depending on your party size, private transport may be cheaper anyway.

I returned from a deployment in 2006, and we stayed at SOG for the special post-deployment rate. We then took a taxi over to the Polynesian and got the Disney bus from there.

That's why I referenced the last 18 months. January 2016, my brother and sister-in-law inquired specifically about using the Polynesian to go to the cruise terminal, and were told they were not permitted to do so. Do you remember how you were notified what time the bus was coming to go to the port?

I just booked the transfers with my cruise reservation, and they gave me all the info.

Well, maybe they were given bad information, or maybe things have changed since 2006. After all, the number of transfers Disney does today is much higher than it was in 2006.
