9 days until I am at Kidani for the first time! I am so excited. I have stayed at AKL twice, but pre-Kidani days.

Ann..I am doing well...

Today i was on Capitol Hill speaking with our congress men and women. Meet a lot of them, sraffers and interns from all over the country. I also was a part of the congressional causus.

That was a first for me...

For the occasions I wore a nice suit and I walked a bunch and wore a pair of heels.. this however was not a great combination... I now have 4 blisters... One is about the size of two half dollars... One burst... So I can hardly walk now...

I can't believe this is happenning.

I am sorry to hear about the blisters and hope they will heal soon, but yay for being able to walk in high heels such a relatively short time after your surgery.

Alison, how did Fran's surgery go?

it went fine, but they moved it back an hour and a half without telling us, well until it was half an hour after the scheduled time. She didn't get released until 10PM, so it was a long day. When I get home I can PM you the pictures from the dressing change this morning. It's pretty gruesome, you're the only one who would find them interesting. Hopefully they got all the nasty bugs out, and with the big gun antibiotics she will finally heal once and for all.

What a pain, I'm sorry they didn't tell you they postponed it. I really hope this finally takes care of the infection. Absolutely, I'd like to see the pictures.

Congrats and have a great time! That is a LONG day, but look at it this way, it will really only be 1pm PDT, the time zone your body will still be in!!! Does that help?!!!

Good morning Js & Ks! Wishing you all a Happy Weekend!


HOT-lanta is living up to its name -- I know a good portion of the country is baking in this heat wave.

Our upstairs A/C unit has been running non-stop for over 24 hours. Even overnight, we couldn't get the temperature in the house down below 80 (I'm only trying to get it down to 79!! ) I think we have 2 more days of over 100, then we're supposed to return to a more tolerable 99!!!

Hello, AKL experts. I have a question. I'm in the early early stages of planning our next wdw trip for December 2013 and I'm picking two resorts for a split stay, two resorts that appeal to me the least (poly and AKL), but I love being surprised. I have heard so many good things about this place and I really love boma and jiko. I want to devote 3 days and 2 nights to the AK, but the room options seem to be lacking for a family of 5. Am I reading it correctly? As a family of 5 our only option is a one bedroom suite?

I was hoping someone would respond, I have zero experience with anything but studios.

Wow! Be careful and stay cool yourself we had similar temps yesterday which will continue over the weekend I believe. Absolutely miserable weather. Thankfully we havnt lost power, but over a million already have.

Pam, I think we need more information from her. Family of 5, if one is under 3, they could book a regular resort room or a studio -- although it would be a bit I'm sure! Would she consider a Villa? Maybe Kidani would have more appeal to her than Jambo? Does she want Club Level?

The 2 resorts that have the least appeal to her - AKL & Poly. AKL has the smallest rooms for a "deluxe" and Poly has among the largest.

bwifan - would you give us some more information and we'll try to help you?

The storms came by me also, they were so fierce! At one point the house shook, which made me uncomfortable to say the least.

Hope everyone is staying cool in this heatwave! 90's here all weekend, but I dont mind it.

Headed to work in a little while...It's like the frozen tundra in there I'll be more than cool, I have to dress like it's winter out.
